Ive just bought a air compressor and spray gun, Because i intend to respray a new front bumper for my car soon.
I bought a 50L 3hp compressor, and a Devilbiss DV1, with a DV1 B+ aircap..
I have painted a few things in the past, Just with ebay cheap HVLP guns etc, Alloy wheels, BMX frames etc, But this is the first time i will be painting metallics...
(Z168 code: Vauxhall / opel Metro Blue).
And i want to be 1000% sure i do a nice job of it..
I have washed, scuffed up, cleaned with Prep-sol... Tack Clothed it etc, and applied primer already, which came out perfect...
I usually paint at around 6-7 inches from panel, for non-metallics... But since you have to move the gun further away for metallics, to avoid metallic grouping on the panel...
Roughly what distance would you recommend spraying metallics?
Just so i have a ball-park figure to go from...

I appreciate your video and instruction but I'm a little confused when you say you don't want to spray your Chevelle but your painting a white notepad with red paint right next to your Chevelle that is not covered in plastic to protect it. Is there a reason why you've done this?
