Here is a tip Cut the ports on case using just a flat file and a small round file the accuracy and finish of the end result you will find is much better plus a cleaner job without filings flying everywhere like when using a rotary tool
I'm also going the cheap way to rebuild my top end. Instead of replating my barrel I've bought a 2nd hand TS1 that my mate will do some porting work on to make it a bit faster but still reliable for our road trips this year. A replate would have been $450 not including repair work / welding or shipping to Wisconsin and back. I traded my knackered TS1 so I'm only out $200 for the barrel and change for the porting work, and I can use the same head, exhaust, etc. Btw, those UNI cases are $600 over here. I think my SIL GP200 case is good for another season and I might use it next for the RB250 build if I don't splurge for a new case.
