When I was young, my Dad had an 1969 Austen Healy bug-eyed Sprite (painted BR Green). I loved riding in that car and occasionally, my Dad would take it to a car parking lot and he'd sit me in his lap and let me steer it. It was great (every time it went over a bump it pulled a bit to the right). When he retired and we moved to the UK, he "gave" it to his brother (more like permanent loan as my Dad loved that car), who's sons have it now - as far as I know, it's still puttering along.
The Austin-Healey Sprite was in production from 1958-1971, very popular, it was assembled in the UK and here in Australia too.
There were four models, Mk I, II, III and IV.
But...
The only ‘BugEye’ model was the Mk I, which was produced from 1958-1961.
If your father had a 1969 model, yes it it was a Sprite, but it would have been a Mk IV, they didn’t have the ‘bug eyes’ they had a totally different body shape.

Yes. Definitely need buzzarmy with Bobbys signature! My favourite photo of the strictly tour is a photo of you and him and him doing a heart with his hands to the block of seats where I was sat! I love it it’s my Home Screen. Loved seeing you with Rev Richard Cole’s aswell :)
