Why do people feel the need to put any of these people down. They are all great musicians. I watch Hendrix videos, I watch Bob Seger videos. I watch SRV videos.I watch Bonamassa videos. The reason I am watching this video is because I love Walter Trout. I don't feel the need to put them in competition with each other. They are all great. Chill out people. Oh. One more thing. 11 Dislikes?
Fantastic playing by two great guitarists! I suggest people stop comparing guitarists and naming someone better than the other...just enjoy the music instead!!! Thanks for posting!
I was lucky enough to meet Walter at a gig on Merseyside about 8 years ago, apart from being a superb guitarist, he's a REALLY humble man ! We chatted for a few minutes about the tour, and I had bought a triple cd and a t-shirt at the gig, asked him if he would sign the t-shirt, no problem, I wear it with Pride !
I've seen them both plenty and have had the pleasure of speaking with them both. They are both terrific musicians and great guys. I do some promotional work for Joe when he comes to my State. But I talk both of them up!.....Roy
Joe Bonamassa progressed from this style of playing to his style of playing today. Though he was already an accomplished player here, I think he was still searching for his true voice. Glad he found it.
That strat looks like a toy in Walter's hands lol. Two fine musicians rippin it. If you can't feel it you have my deepest sympathy. Gonna see him at a free outdoor concert in Seaside, Ca on July 22. Y'all come out. Thats right free. That's how we roll here in paradise.
i seen walter trout play years ago. arguably one of the best. just missed bonamassa a few months ago. guess i really missed out, and if everybody sounded the same nobody would have anything to talk about. yeah sometimes we have off days. guess you can't make everybody happy
Both of these guys are proof that the days of "guitar gods/heroes" are alive and well. Both have unique individual styles and give truely amazing live performances.
Great playing .... of 2 of the best guitar players in the world. I hope to see Joe sometime, i realy want to see him playing live. and i can ensure you .... walter rocks live. in 2 weeks im going for the 3rd time to a concert of him in holland .... i will be great.
Music is personsal interpretation of the artist and his her/ blues feelings ,and when they hit that sound/ WOW! More power to music becausevit brings people together ?
Seeing them both again in the next month. They are both truly wonderful performers, capable of both shred-fest and emotive blues-rock. Lang/Mayer/KWS eat your hearts out, you can never be as good as these guys.
to the dude who asked "Who won?" thats not AT ALL what the blues is about, its about these two amazing artists getting up there and just playing, its not a competition its just these two guys jamming with each other and i think that, while they are a a bit different in style, they bring out the best in each other and simply put on an amazing showcase of modern blues :)
Um, hold on let me pick my jaw up off the floor... There we go, wow, just wow, nothing like seeing two great guitar players doing what they do and love best. Seen them both live many times, and plan on keeping going!
What's up with the black & white? This is from 2007, not 1967! They are both awesome guitarists, I don't feel the need to say one is better than the other. I love em both along with Coco Montoya, Michael Burks (RIP), Stevie RayVaughan (RIP) and Jimmy Thackery. All phenomenal top shelf blues guitarists.
This is a great video of two of my fav guitar players having some fun. Love it! Ah the Fender days in Joes life. That Chapter was well loved. :) He had that guitar talking to us in this video. Cheers! GroovyHoovy
People who talk shit about Walter Trout being "one dimensional" can piss off and go watch a John Mayer video! I love how Walter plays his ass off all the time! That's what I pay to see and considering he is rated in the top 100 guitarists of all time in Europe there are many others who would agree! Keep it rockin and keepin' the blues alive Walter!
Joe's tone is second to none. Don't get me wrong, Walter is an awesome player. Joe is just 30 now and is out playing people way over his age. Who knows how good he will be when he is Walter's age.
I understand what you're saying. I was listening to Trout & Gary Moore doing "The Sky is Crying". IN MY OPINION, they were playing a a song; SRV tells a story. I'm envious of all of their talents, but there is a difference.
These guys are cookin! I've seen them both a couple of times; booth are great guys! Vai is good, but for the blues it's not enough with speed. You gotta have soul to!
Well, I guess it takes all sorts to make a world! Whilst I would agree that Mayer and KWS don't really hit my spot, I must say I really dig Langs guitar playing! I love how he plays it *so* dirty - miss hits a lot of notes - if you know what I mean. He really plays on the edge of his ability... Really stretches out, and I can hear that and I think it comes through as honesty. He really means it :-) Anyway, this video of WT and JB is great! Thanks to the poster ;-)
I totally agree. Music isn't a competition. Musicians don't compete with others when they're sharing the stage. They enjoy to play with another musician...it's not at all competitive... I agree again: Walter's solo aren't at all the same. ballads (say goodbye to the blues), rock 'n' roll (good enough to eat) and blues (the love song of alfred j. bluesrock). I saw Walter, Joe Bonamassa and Johnny Winter in three weeks. But none of these concerts were as good as Eric Clapton's....
I'm assuming you mean together. if so, the only place is on Walter's solo album 'Full Circle'. They do one track together called 'Clouds on the Horizon'
Musicians learn from one another and appreciate each other's struggle. White men playing the blues has never been about recreating the emotional of enduring slavery. No youngster (Oli Brown or Joe B or Walter Trout or EC) has endured any of that particular hopelessness which is the core of the music. In the 60's Fleetwood Mac (Chicago blues) and John Mayall (JB Lenior) relied on and championed the likes of Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon among others.
Why do people feel the need to put any of these people down. They are all great musicians. I watch Hendrix videos, I watch Bob Seger videos. I watch SRV videos.I watch Bonamassa videos. I am glad to see that Walter got all dressed up for the gig!
Intensely freaking amazing! That's how guitars should be played.
2 great blues guitarist, Joe Bonamassa and Walter Trout.
the best of the best right here ....fucking amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keeping the blues alive
That solo JB plays at the beginning is brilliant! Really original.
You know it is about to get real when Walter lifts that leg ... lol.
No-one raises the leg like Walter!
Two titans of blues ... are we blessed or what .??!!!
Two of the best blues guitarist's I have ever heard playing together!!! Strength, control and sheer talent!!
Hendrix would have been proud of both these blues giants...man, I can listen to their tone and passion all day!
i seen walter trout play years ago. arguably one of the best. just missed bonamassa a few months ago. guess i really missed out
Fantastic playing by two great guitarists!

2 Great Guitarists together.

Great to see two guys just jamming instead of turning it into a competition as it was at 'Going down' at Crossroads 2010 (Joe and Robert Randolph)

I've seen them both plenty and have had the pleasure of speaking with them both. They are both terrific musicians and great guys. I do some promotional work for Joe when he comes to my State. But I talk both of them up!.....Roy
I love their duet on trout's Full Circle CD.
Joe Bonamassa progressed from this style of playing to his style of playing today. Though he was already an accomplished player here, I think he was still searching for his true voice. Glad he found it.

where can I hear these two masters in a studio setting without all of the crowd back ground noise?
check out joe bonamassa's cover of 'Stop' so good, the solo in it is flawless
You're right Stormbringer 67 ;-)
