- Comparing Xiaomi's Redmi Note 12 5G vs the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Pro Plus, to see how the camera, gaming, battery tech and other specs stack up. Which mid-range Xiaomi smartphone is best for you, and is the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G worth that extra cash?

Starting with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G, this feels like a very different phone to the others. Performance is more limited with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, although gaming is still possible, while the 48MP camera is rather basic. Apart from the AMOLED screen, there's not much to raise it above other budget phones, and expandable storage (plus the brighter display) is its major advantage in this comparison.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus and the Pro share more DNA, with a glass design, Dolby Vision display, stereo speakers and Dimensity 1080 gaming chops. However, the Plus edition serves up a 200MP HPX camera sensor, while the regular Pro offers Sony's IMX766. That's still a great shooter, although not quite as good in low light.

I got Redmi Note 12 Pro yesterday. I had Samsung A54 before. The same camera sensor BUT surprisingly, Redmi takes WAAAY MUCH BETTER PHOTOS.

Thanks for the run down. I started with a Redmi Note 7, 4 years ago. It has been really great. I particularly like the photo capability (fantastic pictures), the jack plug (which was the only way to play music in my old car), and the gorilla glass back, which has such a nice feel. Even now battery life is good, but weaker than before, plus updates no longer supported - so is it time for a replacement? I am inclined to go for the Note 12 5G, as I don't need the phone for gaming, BUT I do like the idea of the SD-card slot. This means I can just slot in the SD-card from my Note 7, with all my music on.

Weight is something that I rarely see discussed but it actually has a big impact on the overall experience, for me at least. I can understand it for larger phones, but the 14 Pro weighs 206g, my Pixel 7 is 197g and I find it a tad too heavy to be honest. I'm happy with the overall size and dimensions but I can definitely feel the weight when I'm holding it and when it's in my pocket and I wish it was a tad lighter. I've gotten used to it somewhat but whenever I pick up my old phone I just find it so much easier to handle.
happened to me when I switched my old iphone 8 for a brand new iphone 13 pro, the change was significant and my wrist had to adapt for a period of time but now I feel weird if I grab a lighter phone 😂

After using a Note 7 for 4 years, I switched to a Pixel 7 this year and I so miss those cool MIUI features. I have to buy a Chromecast to cast my phone onto my smart projector while on my Redmi Note 7 I would just go to wireless display and boom! Xiaomi is amazing.

I have it and it's been quite good and smooth, no lags or stutters, played PUBG on high settings cinema preset and it was really smooth while screen recording at 60 fps too@@kfindlay8436

@@rexonpadre4653 I don't ever look at their opinions, I only look at the compare sheet on the technical specs. I still messed up tho, I got the pro, but they only offer the 4g here, so my phone doesn't have optical image stabalisation (only the 5g ones have it) :(

Good evening. I now have the regular Redmi Note 10, and I’m thinking about one of these for my next one. Compared to the video quality of the Redmi Note 10, are these at least the same quality, or slightly better? Because I do film my UA-cam art video’s with it. I hope you can help me with this.

Hi, I am more interested in the Redmi Note 12 TURBO edition, do you know when this is getting a UK release? It is far improved as has a better chipset and performance. Currently can import from China with global ROM but apparently bank apps do not work on it, so wondering when it gets a proper release here? Many thanks.

Does the camera shoot good pictures/videos at night? I'm looking for a camera phone that doesn't blur the photos after they been quickly shoot, especially in low light/night time environments.
Sadly, it performs pretty bad in low light condition.
