      One of my first games of PR ever back in 2014 or 2015 was on Karbala and we had like 20 civis chasing a humvee throwing stones at it.

    you cant commit war crimes and be penalized for mowing down a crowd of enemy civillians because they were throwing stones at you in squad.

      @@gerfand jets are hard on mkb and cant deny, you also have to time your flares and evasive maneuvers if you want to avoid missiles, but remember practice makes perfect

    You forgot (IMO) the biggest difference which is the variety of vehicle classes in Project Reality. Attack helicopters, scout helicopters, heavy helicopters, CAS jets, air superiority jets, multirole jets, self-propelled anti-air vehicles.
    Plus the sheer amount of content in PR, there are so many factions and that also results in lots of map/biome variety. Squad may get there one day if OWI keeps supporting it, but it’s not there yet.

    Squad simply feels like it’s about getting kills and clicking on people. Project Reality has you think beyond your rifle. That’s the big difference.

      @@realtalkxdexbeatz691 thats exactly how squad servers are run except for riplomacy and tide fighters. run at enemy and kill them, rarely do people play the objective and squad leaders constantly have trouble rounding up the 8 other people in the squad to get to the active objective. its why there are constantly no fobs or steam roll games happen. play on a new player server and watch how they run around with no thought and no discipline.

      @@bloatedcadaver I've played on the majority of NA servers. Same thing except for the two mentioned. No issues with admins or player base. Bellas Battleground has also been good for all these years. I'm just saying its not fun to join a pub match on a different server and literally NO one knows what they're doing.

    I stay with PR for the community.
    If there was a dedicated player server in Squad where players communicated using microphones, actually followed their squad roles, and teamworked across multiple squads, then I would be tempted to go play Squad more often.

    Helicopters are so fun in PR, I love flying CAS, really a shame there aren’t any in Squad

      Heli existed in Squad but the problem is that the attack helo are just TRANS, black hawk, AMTSh, NH-90 with just Caliber Machine gun on its door yet it felt useless. But they have mod that put attack helicopter, Steel Division.

      @@stormw1561 it seems like there are pretty few servers that actually use any of those mods though. I tried steel division once and it was cool, but I only found a server with it once and never did again(so I uninstalled the mod)

      @@ChickentNug I can wait for the new steel division mod though. They're bringing stuff that the squad devs will never put in the game. Karmakut has a video called "A new beginning" which was made by the mods devs. It kinda tells you some of the stuff they're adding.

    Started playing PR in 2006 (think it was .5 at that time - anyone remember when Aphex Twin was the loading music for Basrah map?). Played it ALL the time during secondary/high school up through about 2010, and would log on occasionally afterwards when home from university. Haven’t played in nearly a decade but might just have to jump back in…so glad to see it’s still around.

      The bullet deviation is something that does not exist in real life. It's a totally made up and gamey mechanic.

      @@AnimalMother207 Still, there is no bullet deviation. It's the sway and hand tremors causing the shooter to miss. Guns are accurate, they shoot straight. It's user error what you described, not some "deviation".

      @Blunt i dont know about the first part since i didnt play squad back in the day, but i can confirm squads community is infinitely worse than pr's, everything, the shitty squads, people not having mics, and when having them often unneceserily using them and so on...

    Bullet deviation is a simulated way of applying basic fundamentals of shooting in a video game. JUST BECAUSE YOUR RETICAL IS ON THE TARGET DOSNT MEAN YOU WILL HIT IT! Anyone whos familiar with firearm's knows there's a whole lot more that goes into it than just point and pull the trigger. Natural point of aim, muscular relaxation, bone support, raspatory pause, elbow placement, leg placement, focusing on the recital, length of pull, spot-weld/cheek-weld, Sight alignment, just to name a few....and I wont even go into the common ways people mess this up. Now add all the equipment AND the stress of combat/Suppression AND to try and take well aimed shots. It fairs far more difficult than you would think. I think project reality masters this aspect because it really does take time to build a proper shooting position. Coming off a 200m dash, jumping then turning and point shooting your rounds are more than likely not going to go where you want them to.

      You're right. If only they developed a version of it for Squad that's better represented than PR's two dots. I imagine it shouldn't be too hard to animate it so that the weapon model isn't properly positioned for situations like that.
      One thing I appreciate about VR shooters like Onward is that there it just comes naturally through the virtue of you actually holding something in your hands and having to properly position it on your own.

      @@Wimbold You wouldn't even have to animate it honestly, another thing you could do is simulate the Minutes of Angle each weapon has approximately. so let's say your standard Minutes of angle for the M4/AK is 4. That would mean at each 100 yards the standard deviation between projectiles would be 4 inches, At 200 yards 8 inches and so on. it would be pretty easy to replicate honestly and ot would stop the arcade feel to squad and force people to work together. we can only dream and wish I guess...

      As much as i agree with the actual shooting stuff you are talking about i still think the 2 dots are a terrible way to do put it into a game. I would very much not like to look down on the bottom of my screen to see if i can shoot accurately or not. There plenty of other ways to punish a player being overly aggressive with their movement then that.

      Provided your gun is properly zerod and your eye is in the right place, where your reticle is pointed means that it will hit your target

      I think the best way to recreate the effect of PRs Bullet Deviation mechanic would be to implement a Sight Alignment mechanic. It would be based on the gun model instead of two dots in the HUD. You could also implement this with the scopes, giving them some much needed nerf.
      I also think there should be a Suppression mechanic overhaul. Make it a weapon flinch like Post Scriptum, instead of a weapon sway like we currently have. Have a 'Suppression Bar' that needs to be filled up before there's any flinch.
      These two mechanics would greatly improve Squad by making it more about squad based tactics like Fire Superiority and Fire & Maneuver, instead of the current individual 'Head Clicking'.

    I think rushing the first point is kinda over exaggerated. I have seen it in AAS but not RAAS where the majority of players play the mode and usually it is on their second point. Otherwise, the less teamwork due to a larger playerbase and more accessibility is on point. I think Squad is getting closer to PR for every update it gets. Especially after the disaster in 2019. I am still waiting for the insurgency overhaul.

    I think the biggest problem with Squad is, that it is too fast.
    As you said, the run and gun action alone, but also vehicle movement and the running speed of the soldiers, like crossing a open field is a legit option in squad because you run so fast that there is a good chance you'll make it.
    Also this speed is what takes away the opportunity to proper communicate in my opinion, squad seems way too hectic.
    It is strange too describe but often I feel things you say get lost in the sheer mass of people speaking, which stands in contradicton of what I said earlier, but that's the feeling you get.
    For example one match in PR, i was little behind of my squad and a humvee drove past me, I asked my SL if he could inform another SL that the humvee was heading towards him from my direction, well the other SL then had his LAT get ready and the humvee was dealt with, all because you have enough time to communicate such things.
    I never had a comparable situation in squad.

      Squad is far too arcady and fast paced than it has any right to be. Suppression barely works because the enemy can pinpoint your exact location due to your tracers and pop their head up for a split second and point and click on your head. They should really rework their Suppression mechanic. Take the flinch mechanic you see in Post Scriptum, but add a suppression bar that needs to be filled up (by being suppressed) for the flinch to kick in. Essentially make fire superiority a thing in Squad.
      FireTeam comms for non-squad leaders would be nice too.

      Well... I stand corrected, after 530 hours in Squad I recently had a comparable situation.
      It was a Invasion map and after the capture I got separated from my squad and pushed towards the next objective accompanying another squad for the time being.
      After being a blueberry for the other squad, I tried and went to regroup with my Squad and on my way to the rendezvous point I spotted the enemy MBT.
      I asked my SL if he could pass me a fireteam lead to mark it, after that our own tank-squad and a heavy anti-tank dealt with the enemy tank.
      It is comparable, but still not the same because you have to go around a few edges (i.e. getting a fireteam lead and marking instead of just verbally communication), but it is what it is and it was satisfying teamplay.

      @@koenigmaxgaming7588 I squad lead regularly in Squad and it’s very irritating when squad members ask me to tell other SLs information to disseminate to their squad that isn’t all that important, and it’s more irritating to have another SL try and pass information onto someone specific in my squad when I’m trying to communicate with my squad, a different SL, in local comms or I simply need to focus on a fight.
      Marks on the map, as you say, achieve the same result (good players will be checking the map regularly and anticipating armour through those marks) without clogging the squad and command chats with unnecessary information. If you play with other good players then you’ll also quickly realise that you don’t need FTL to get something marked. When I’m not SLing I almost always request an FTL and rarely pass it over to other players. Passing FTL wipes previous marks and encourages players to tab out more often and wasting time and noise in comms to mark something themselves (which may soon get deleted anyway if the FTL is passed around). Instead, it’s better to just ask the FTL to mark something for you. When I command in Squad I often play with some very skilled regulars who take FTL and who can tell when I’m organising stuff in CMD chat and so other players go through them to get stuff marked when I won’t be attending to call outs. Hearing ‘Can an FTL mark…’ means I can ignore the rest of the request and focus on the comms that matter in that moment.
      I think FTL marking make communication easier, much less of a ballache for all involved, and enables players without mics (or with mic problems) to still communicate with their squad and the wider team. I know some consider it ‘arcadey’ but it contributes to more effective strategies based on clearer communication which I think is actually more strategic.

      @@fabe61 eh, personally i think the comms chaos doesnt happen that often, atleast in my experience from PR, situations like the one koen explains happen a lot, and it isnt really that irritating to comm with other squads about relevant information, after all, thats a big part of what makes a good tactical shooter, coordination and communication among people

    As somebody who played PR from 0.6 to 0.85 and only recently tried Squad, the deviation difference suddenly explains so much about my experience in Squad not aligning at all with what I remember experiencing in PR. I've been playing Squad the past week or so as though I needed to wait for deviation to settle!

    My experience with PR is that despite supposedly having a more "veteran" player base, I've had way more instances of squadleaders leaving early or not knowing what they're doing which basically ruins the whole game. And you can't simply join a different server if a game is screwed up since there are only like one for your region.

      Most of the veterans would actually name the squad instead of alpha beta charlie, etc etc they would name something weird or just straight INF, INF EN, INF Ru, etc.
      Or try to find one with a clan tag instead.
      Also if ur squad not organized correctly some server gonna went admin mode and actually disband your squad. So watchout for those squad that consists of:
      -snipers
      -LAT
      -HAT
      -AA manpad
      -medic
      -grenadier
      Or some kits that doesn't actually do things if you're not having a squadleader using SL kit.

      If there's no squadlead or hes not communicating in PR a good way to play is just to switch to local chat and find some people or other squad to help

    I think increasing weapon sway would have the same effect as deviation in squad tbh. It's definitely more realistic to have the bullets go where the crosshair is(unless parallax is a thing), so maybe even just a combination of parallax during weapon movement and increased sway would promote tactical advantages more?

    there's also the weird control delay in squad, where everything happens like 20ms after it should, and of course all the clutter that's projected on top of the battlefield, plus friendlies are marked, plus there's the insane amount of comms delay whereas mumble is practically no latency... all these technical failings and bad choices by the design team have made squad more useful as an advertisement for Project Reality than as a game... every once in awhile I go back to it hoping they've fixed the problems and turned back on some of their bigger mistakes, and I find it's just as this UA-camr describes - I've never played a Squad game that was close, they're all incredible crazy victories, and they're like a half hour long, there's no time to get into it

    3:00 that mechanic alone is what i think separates the gameplay from squad, players hit shots in squad from high distances on the first or second shots, sometimes even turning 180 before doing it

    I just recently got into squad, my experience with regard to teamplay seems to be vastly different from yours. So far mostly squads work together very tightly, however an important component is the SL - whether or not they are capable decides how well your squad will fare.
    In addition I haven't really seen the "rush their backcap" gameplay at all. There is indeed more attacking than defending, but there are defensive squads. Usually the first two flags seem to be the backcap, the third is a standard FOB location and the fourth is already risky business. Of course all of that depends on the map etc. All I can say is, my experience differs here, which makes me wonder if this is highly related to what servers one plays on.
    Would love to see such a bullet deviation mechanic in Squad though. The sway in combination with the suppression mechanic work quite well though too, player experience seem to play a huge role.

      it depends honestly. I do SL every once in a while, and sometimes when the squad is willing to listen to and work with you everything goes perfectly, and sometimes everyone's sitting in the corner of the map with their thumbs up their asses. it just depends on the match

    Sqaud looks more realistic, due to PR running on an old game engine, it doesn't look great for modern standards. The thing that makes it better is that it is focused on the reality and feel of real life combat and not on real life graphics

    I like both games, though I am more of a Squad guy. What often turns me off about PR is the elitism about it. Particularly how unwelcoming portions of the community towards new players, especially ones coming from Squad is.

    I totally agree. No mechanic has a greater effect on PR's timeless gameplay than the deviation. It is the reason why we are all so disappointed in the TDM that is Squad, whether we realize it or not.
    The only thing I would add is that muzzle sway could be the answer to non-clunky deviation, but Squad practically has no meaningful muzzle sway, similar to how it has no meaningful suppression. You can seriously outperform the best IRL competition shooters in Squad and nobody thinks there is a problem with it. "Realistic shooter" my ass.

    Simple solution for squad because the bullet should go where the gun is pointing. More sway and the longer you are aiming it's gets less and less and ofc if you are firing quickly it will go all over the place. Just like the bullet deviation in PR. PR's "point one way bullet magically magically" does work and is wonderful to play but just scratches my brain in the back sometimes.

    Dude thanks for this video. The old graphics and lack of modern FPS functions in PR (such as freelook and leaning) actually appeal to me in a nostalgic way.
    Having said that, there are features in PR that are sorely lacking in Squad, such as alt sights on rifles, thermal imaging optics on modern weapon systems and vehicles, player operated attack helicopters and planes, and the sheer volume of content that exists in PR (metric shit-tonnes of vehicles weapons and maps, many factions, WW2 flavoured content) including MP COOP against bots...if youre into that sort of thing ;)

      Not all maps... I just played Operation Ghost Train and those bamboos stoped all my bullets. But y'know, a well placed .50 can pen pretty much any building in ins maps

      @@darklizard45 It indeed does. But the problem is that after a bullet penetrates a surface it disappears after 5 meters beyond that penetration. So you can't spray through a wooden fence and hit a guy far away, but he can spray you can kill you as long as you're within 5 meters of said fence etc.

    I got Squad at full release, but it just didn't grip me at all. I played PR for years and had so much fun with it. Squad feels like a really fancy and expensive car that doesn't perform, while PR is that rusty old truck from the 80's that you can constantly beat the hell out of and it still keeps going strong.

    Project reality is a " SQUAD " for those who have potato PCs like me. Mine specs are the following-
    1.CPU- i3-10110u
    2.GPU-Intel UHD 620 ( Integrated GPU ).
    3.STORAGE-256 GB SSD
    4.RAM-8 GB
    with these specs I can only dream of playing SQUAD. I downloaded Project Reality today only and enjoyed playing it.

    as someone who has been playing for 2 days it seems like in coop the bots have no deviation, even if u have the drop on them they will 180 degree turn instantly and start shooting you accurately

    I thought your introspection into the deviation mechanic was quite interesting but I had some questions
    1.) wouldn’t it be a better mechanic to just have the weapon sway much more uncontrollable than making so your bullets not go where the crosshair is. I can’t help but feel this artificialness would get frustrating over what I said before. I could accept not hitting a shot cause I can’t hold my gun straight, I can not accept not hitting a shot because game says so when my lines are lined up.
    2.) now why would I play either when I can play arma?

    The characterisation of Squad gameplay is far too big a generalisation. The tendency towards attacking is true, but you only need one squad of infantry out of 4-5 to defend to mitigate against that as a problem. On higher quality servers, communication between SLs is much better than others and the majority of players use microphones. There are a couple layers that encourage cheesey point rushes but again, good servers keep them largely out of rotation. The squad experience revolves around its player base and finding good servers with reliable, experienced regulars on those servers matters.
    For instance, I find the gameplay on American servers to be quite different to those in Europe, as more people use their mics but the chat is generally more toxic and the approach is more ‘milsim-y’ to the point of detracting from clear communication and effective strategies. In Euro servers I think there’s a lot more micless blueberries or servers full of people not communicating at all due to language barriers, and it is this which often detracts from a good game of squad there. On the US side I find the toxic rivalries that occur between gigachad SLs in the US who think that playing Squad is identical to real war unbearable and friction between SLs often completely ruins any collective strategy. I prefer European servers as a result.

      Also, the claim that talented shooters suffer no disadvantage in a situation where you get the drop on an enemy squad is a large exaggeration. The deviation system is cool and I think squad could benefit from its implementation in a more limited way, but to suggest that you can entirely account for scope sway or stamina mismanagement/serious injury through aiming skill alone just isn’t true, especially when you factor in suppression too. You can partially account for it, yes, but if you get the drop on an enemy they need to spend time working out which direction you’re in and which bush you’ve melted into before hitting you with more sway, more recoil and less image clarity. At closer ranges, where you can flick round and spray at someone, this feels fair to me and, tbh, if you fail to kill someone you get the drop on in ranges under 50m, your aim is at fault. I’ve often heard fellow community members rage about someone turning around and killing them when they expected a good flank but it’s because they missed a lot of shots and totally squandered their advantage, or they were too ambitious (e.g. trying to take on a full squad using full auto and a gun with 30 rounds).
      At the end of the day the tactical advantage only matters if you can make use of it, meaning that you need to click heads on smaller groups and not miss or you need to have the right kit (an MG) to kill bigger groups of infantry from a good position.

    You forgot to mention: the "matches" in PR last *at least* 45 minutes! Sometimes longer! Because it's NO Battlefield/Call Of Duty Run & Gun Arcade Shooter with fast-ending matches every 10-15 minutes! It's Reality...Project Reality!

      @@viejitaloca The reason it plays so long is *proof* it's NOT unbalanced! Otherwise a superior team in a REALLY unbalanced match would win every match under 10 minutes! It's realistic to be so long becuase players have to *slow their pace!* (Run and gun will get you killed quickly! Just try it!!) And it evenly "balanced" teams take LONG to win!

    In PR you are rewarded if you play as a squad and communicate with success.

    How long is a game in PR ? In squad most of my game are 35-45 min long at least, I don't think that's "short". I do have more than 2000 hours in Squad but never played PR, I heard veteran talk about it and I am glad Squad come to life. I used to play Battlefield when I was a kid but never felt anything like it playing all the modern FPS. SQUAD is clearly the right heir to the FPS nostalgia we all had. As such i am worried about the recent buy out and the futur of the game. I have to say the point you made about the aim mechanics is on point. Clearly it would put SQUAD in the rigth direction to make it more teamplay oriented. But I think we both know, it's not where it's going.

    Here what Squad dont have and reason
    Thermal Imaging for tank
    -reason: To balance the game
    Well PR just dont care either its too powerfull but its usefull
    No Attack Chopper
    -Reason: Squad is infantry fighting game, not Flying Apache(found this in steam community topic) and..... too overpowered to add these when faction has Attack Helo vs Insurgency, also they got mod called steel division that provide these.
    PR has these well againts insurgency(several)
    And hey more????

      Squad doesn't have real balance, not having thermals for "balance" is just excuse for lack of talent/technical knowhow.
      Squad already lacks fcs, tanks get stopped(if not flipped due to "physics") by a tiny rock/tree...etc., and way too much hp for armored vehicles on top of armor system that can prevent damage altogether(at most, they should have one or the other, not both).
      They want trans choppers to be flying tanks so naturally a not-overpowered attackchopper makes no sense(since if you have effective AA against it, the AA logically would decimate attack choppers too).
      Squad is a poor imitation of PR where the casualization went too far in some aspects(infantry, respawn, fob) but not enough in other aspects(tanks have a copy of world of tanks armor system, it's mostly zero-or-nothing damage, which results in n00bs not being able to do damage against some parts of tanks on top of everything else), just enough to create contradictory gameplay(where noobs are subjected to epic fails when they fail to penetrate the vehicle).
      Although to be fair, PR should have removed guided HAT too.

    The only thing I hate about PR is the recoil, and NO it is NOT realistic go look up people shooting guns, your gun don't start flying around like in PR. It's just way too over exaggerated and I hope one day they could wake up from their dream of thinking that is realistic and fix it.

Also irl soldiers rarely put their rifles on auto fire so game forces you into it as well like ''ok fuck auto is so bad, imma use single fire''. I mean i know where both sides on this matter come from but its REALY hard thing to fix if u know what i mean. You guys may know after the update on AR kit ''deviation timer change'' it fucked my gameplay as an AR main. It lost its mobility in fight and has become nothing more than mg with smaller mag. So its kinda dangerous to change things in games depending on its mechanics like pr.

    I feel like PR is slower and less hectic. It's a more mature experience than Squad.
    To be fair, Squad was a very unfriendly experience for me. While I know my way around the concept, having played PR for ages, it often feels like players in Squad get so easily upset with you if you don't know something (for example I forgot what button does what because of differences in the two games), while in PR people are generally friendlier and don't take your mistakes to heart as much.
    To be fair, Squad's community feels intimidating and unwelcoming, while PR feels much more light hearted and friendly, while the gameplay feels much more mature.

I remember playing a couple rounds of the game and figuring out enough desktop publishing stuff to turn the Standard Operating Procedures document into a little booklet that I carried around with me so I could quickly read and learn it during recess.     But i really like the light shun on the deviation thing its really good, there is a mod that really brings the best out of squad which was for karmakut called dynamic direction. That mode really gets how squad should be played , teamwork . Known lines of contact less blueberries

    There is deviation thing in Squad SDK - and it's not just a 'cone of fire'. However it was not utilized in Squad game itself. Literally only thing that Squad lacks is that what you said - a deviation.

    I think the first Ghost Recon's expanding reticule worked similarly, where even if the crosshair part is centered, the dispersion in the wider expanded circlet would be greater, and the OFP/ARMA indicator (when not ADS) is somewhat similar where the "sight ears" will expand when moving and /or winded though the front sight is still a good general indicator of where the pew pews..

    I’m not a Squad fanboy , I played a lot of PR back in the day , but to say that one of the reasons PR is better is that the community is more experienced and there’s more teamwork is definitely not always true.

    U took the worst thing out of PR and told us that it makes it better, like standing up waiting 2 sec aiming and not beeing able to shoot where saits point by trained soldier is so good and realistic only thing it do is making it easier to camp. I know what u mean by sprinting 100 meters and 360 noscoping an ambush but it should be determinated by some stamina system not this archaic and unrealistic thing

    I do not understand how do you say that pr has more tactics and communication. There’s one-two active servers out there, and when you join a squad there - you rarely hear any word from a squad leader. Everyone playing alone, stealing each other vehicles, no real communication. There is this problem too in Squad, but at least I can switch server and try to find a good SL, more communicative team or something

    I think you've accurately summed up why I hate 99% of modern shooters. The fact that some sweatbag can just insta-blow you're head off from a mile away, doesn't matter whether he's full on sprinting or even if you've made a tactical advantage for yourself. The idea a man can just drop from a full sprint into a 100% accurate shot from miles away is genuinely one of the stupidest things implemented into modern FPS. Deviation is such an important function of physics in real life. Feels like you are playing as some faultless unreal robot that glides and performs like a machine.

    PR player base is way better, unfortunately the single NA real active server is a real problem.
    Check the forums, people are really upset with the way HOG is being administrated.

    Never heard of PR but after this video and dying by multiple 360 no scopes in squad, I think I’m ready to move to PR. Squad is obsolete

    I love Squad. It's a fantastic game. But there's just something about Project Reality that keeps drawing me back. It might just be nostalgia, but I love it.

    I've played 2k hours of squad and ill say i've actually had alot of luck where playing with squads and teams play proplerly and do things other than run around looking for a fight.
    Though i will add whilst alot of squads do, that doesnt mean they all fully communicate and end up doing it all independently other than asking for logis

    Squad devs lied to its backers, they moved the game from PRs spiritual successor to garbage. I hate OWI so much

    Deviation is in plenty of video games. It's usually simulated by crosshair bloom

    1:35 that is so fuckin true, i hate when players do that, instead of going in order, building fobs in some good defense positions just in case, to have always a good respawn possibility, NO they build them somewhere in the front hoping that enemy will surrender or something, it can create a huge mess and before anyone reacts enemy team capture all of the flags ... and it sucks

    Your correct the reason these 2 games play differently is solely down to the playerbase something I hope the new ICO will fix with alot of the more garbage players hopefully leaving. This is one thing I love about Post Scriptum because the player base is very low with only 2 or 3 full servers you know the players who still stick around to play it are good competetent players who play the game how its meant to be played. Squad could really do with taking onboard some of what PS's development did like canteens for stamina and the ability to mount your rifle on low walls to reduce sway both of these features with ICO would be great additions.

    Imo PR is the best team game where kills dont always matter to win the game
    Only a good team work can get you to victory and thats what i think squad is pretty much lacking cuz most people just try to run and gun or teamwork just doesnt work at all

    I Find PR better overall but no by the mention you said, Squad relies a lot in teamplay and the guys are getting it, PR isn't too welcoming at first.

    I bought squad on the steam sale hoping that the modern fps mechanics would make for a more interesting close combat experience ala Insurgency than PR. Instead what I got was a camp fest where 9/10 times you don't even know where you are getting shot from.

      @@flandflard4190 How is it a skill issue when you're getting camped by players playing in 4K resolution with 90FOV when you're stuck at 1080p with the same FOV? This is one of the many examples of how broken Squad is, let a lone the crappy optimization.

      @@SONNENKVLT I mean, if you're playing 1920x1080 in 2022, that's kinda your issue considering 1440 is the new 1920x1080, but either way, i agree. i think the way to combat this is increasing zoom so the playing field is completely levelled, then scopes will only be a buff for general accuracy and help in target acquisition, or during incredibly long range fights.
      this would make fighters longer ranged in general and also allow for iron sight players to shoot relatively accurately 400+ meters with 1920x1080 resolution, and make it realistic to the fact that weapon range is more often limited to terrain and surroundings and less about the weapons limits
