This is really nice thank you!! I'm planning on applying for fall 2021, they have applications open so I'm guessing they are being hopeful. I really don't know what the chances are of things being open and functional by then, but it's worth a shot!

I didn't know they had fall 2021 applications open but to my knowledge, them being able to accept international students is entirely dependent on the Japanese Government deciding to issue visas for things like foreign students, tourism, work holiday, etc. I've been following the visa situation closely and I'm quite optimistic about the fall. Hey! Thanks for commenting! I believe that due to the pandemic, they’ve suspended the program for the upcoming fall. I know that you can’t currently apply for a visa at the Japanese consulate, which is how you get the permission to enter Japan in the first place. Kansai Gaidai re-opening their exchange program depends completely on when the Japanese government will open their borders- I think it will be sometime in June before the Olympics are planned. However, the earliest time you’ll be able to study abroad at Kansai Gaidai is probably Spring Semester of 2022. I know it’s a long time to wait but if you can, studying abroad and especially at Kansai Gaidai is a really life-changing experience. Please let me know if you have any more questions!
