haha this is exactly how i like planning my trips, knowing everything in detail. how long did you stay at kansai gaidai? how old are you and the other exchange students? and did you apply directly to the school or did you go through a program like ISEP?
I was at KGU from January 18th until June 2nd, me and my classmates were usually anywhere from 19-20, however there were some older people around 28 and younger around 18. I applied through my home universities study abroad program however I’m pretty sure they have their own direct application.
@LlamaPunchXO how did you game while at the university? The rules stae that gaming is prohibited. I want to bring my PS5. I was thinking about pocket WIFI. Thoughts?
Great video! I've got a question though, how did you get your monitor and xbox there? Did you bring them with you or did you buy them from somewhere there? I am planning on having a small set up there myself but finding info is difficult.
If you are going to be enrolled within their Asian studies program I think living on campus has way more advantages than renting an apartment. The living accommodations are pretty great and it’ll definitely be saving you money and stress compared to having to go through the struggle of finding and renting an apartment, especially if your Japanese isn’t conversational because rent can be a big issue for none fluent people in Japan.
@@LlamaPunchXOThanks, and also: I am enrolled in 5 courses for the coming semester (Asian Studies). How would you say the study pressure is in terms of the amount of class hours a week and at what time, and the difficulty of the classes. Thanks!
Great video! Question about the kitchen, is their a fridge? places people can store items that need to be chilled? (excluding the mini fridge in your room?)
The mini fridges are the only fridges there. So the space you have to keep stuff cold is pretty small especially for freezing stuff because the mini fridges only have a small ice shelf.
Only singles in the main Gotenyama dormitories, however I’m pretty sure there are doubles in the second housing option located off campus where students live in a more traditional Japanese environment who are comfortable with speaking the language.
Kinda ya, they don’t call it curfew but rather “quiet hours”, basically after 9 everyone is expected to be as quiet as possible. The RA’s which stay on each floor will usually enforce it, however in my floors case our RA was super chill and we got away with a lot 💀😂
When I went we did not. Yet again the food wasn’t that expensive per meal but sometimes only being using cash got a bit inconvenient. To be sure, I’ll ask some of my friends to be sure there was not an allowance and if it turned out there was I’ll let you know.
@@Toucanlover123it depends on what type of exchange student you are and what school you’re coming from. I got a meal allowance of around 70k yen but most of my friends did not.
Glad to have come across this video, hoping to do an exchange program at KGU, very informative! Cheers from Mexico
This is actually so helpful, thanks so much!

@@PhoenixHistory78I used the pocket wifi to play Xbox. They just mean you can’t connect your console to the school’s internet

I brought my Xbox in my carry on when flying over there, but I bought the monitor there on Amazon
Hey! Would you recommend staying at these dorms or trying to find your own apartment?

Are there double rooms at the dormitory?

Yo I’m planning on going there this spring. Is there a curfew at the dorms?

I saw on the KGU's website there's a meal allowance for exchange students, is this true? Like you get a certain amount of money per week ir semester?

how much did it cost to spend a semester at kansai gaidai? i notice it seems pricier compared to other universities
So sorry I never responded to this comment. I don’t remember the exact numbers but I’m going to actually check and get back to you on that.
Hey does kansai offer online classes?
That’s a good question, I don’t know if they offer online classes during the regular semesters however they do offer summer courses online
