« November 2018 France ranked "World's most food sustainable country" France's aggressive measures to tackle food waste, promote healthy lifestyles and adopt eco-farming techniques helped it top a ranking of nations, in an index published by the Economist Intelligence Unit.. The US and Britain failed to make the top 20 of 67 nations that were graded on food waste, sustainable agriculture, and health and nutrition.. "France has been in the vanguard of policies and measures to reduce such losses.. France is showing that "improvements in agricultural performance should not come at the expense of environmental and social conditions," said Martin Koehring, the index's author.. *Britain had high greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture* and it also *scored poorly on water management,* Koehring said. .. France also topped the index last year."

That is, in part, why we feel taking action at the individual level is so critical. Policy < Collective personal responsibility to make the changes we want to see.
