Question... If I put 20k oil and 20k filter will my car still remind me after 5k or 6k miles or does it know it's better oil? Like is the detection based on miles or does he actually have something testing the oil
Mad late but figured id answer the question anyways. This is typical of most cars. They dont test the oil and some cars its based on miles. Lets say oil change is supposed to be after 5,000 miles. Cars have certain algorithms that will reduce or delay when it tells u to change the oil based on how you drive, hard accelerations, city driving, highway driving, temperature conditions. If you cant find how your car calculates it then do a test. Reset trip a, B or whatever to 0 at oil change and see if every time it tells u maintenance required at the same mileage or health percentage. I know hondas and acuras fords that tell u health percentage are based on driving patterns

Not very professional, the plastuc tube coming with new oil filter should be used before you remove old oil filter, which can help to drain the oil in the old one.
