- I'm no expert but I wanted to share how I do my oil change. Always welcome feedback if I can do something better. I try to do my best to research the specs.

Clean concise and to the point, well done.
@@jeremypaule5877 thank you!
So beautiful, thank you for this information! 😊
I appreciate the attention to detail. Thanks
Thank you!
great video
Thank you!
I bought one of those filter wrenches for my wife's Sienna because I got tired of using big channel locks. I just purchased a used Rav4 for my daughter and was hoping it was the same. Great video. Thanks!
Thanks 👍
What size is the filter wrench?
@@chanoleyva8584 it's one for Toyota Lexus. I don't know the size but you can see the model in the video
I do not like this type of oil filter setup I don't understand why they just couldn't use the regular spin on filters like a lot of their other Toyota models.
my son has a 2019 RAV4 hybrid and it has the spin on filter
@@garydp9760 I had to film this twice because I couldn't get the filter drain plug out the first time. I really tried to make sure it wasn't tight but it still got stuck. It's good to hear that the later models stopped using this method.
Is the oil filter rench a must or can you get the filter off and on without it. Great video
I would use the wrench to avoid housing damage. However a pair of channel locks will work in a pinch to loosen it. They specify torque when putting it back on, so I would just stick with that Toyota wrench. Who knows maybe the 19 foot pounds is like hand tightening but I don’t know.
where do you get that 4 L jug for accurate oil amount? Thank you
In Ontario I went to princess Auto. They also have them on Amazon for around $40 Canadian. I just looked up measured oil container for cars
is your filter wrench a 4 or 6 cut?
Sorry what do you mean by cut?
@@LadybugAdventures if you look at the lip of your filter wrench. Do you see 4 or 6 cut outs. I think on your video I see 4. Thanks for your quick response
@@ewcamaewcama ahhh. 4 cutouts
So…. You can use the drain attachment on the housing before you remove the entire housing. You also do not need the to use it.
As you can see he removed the filter housing without the extra $10 tool
It’s definitely a little neater if you can use the drain attachment first. If it won’t come out, and the entire filter spins off then it works out without the special tool. But the drain bolt does come out then you will definitely need that special socket to go over the filter.
I don't even use the drain thing. It's impossible to remove on my car. I just remove the entire thing and clean it out. Never given me any issues. On the Prius there is no drain thing but the removal of the filter and size is the exact same which leads me to think the drain thingy is more optional than anything.
