Stormgate is a military science fiction fantasy real-time strategy video game developed and released by Frost Giant Studios
I kind of wish that stormgate was mature enough that it actually made sense to have a Is in Imbalanced or Do I Just Suck series. It has felt very common that if I get vanguard against an infernal player (I play random) and win that they express some salt about the matchup. While granting that I find the matchup tough too, some infernals seem to feel an exaggerated sense of hopelessness about it
I think it's really about how spiky the timings feel right now - if your opponent hits quickdraw and you're on the map or don't have miasma its very easy to lose the game. As we can see in this series, the opposite can happen for infernal timings
IMO the game is brand new and everybody more or less sucks right now, even the top players will be shaking their heads if they look back at their replays from this week in a few months. The meta's nowhere closed to being solved, keep trying new stuff.
Quickdraw Hustle comes out much sooner than Miasma & Reaper's Rush and Exos can kite Brute/Gaunt comps for free if they're out wandering the map during that window, I think there are potentially a bunch of clever ways for an Infernal player to deal with this but a lot of people are choosing 'get salty about game balance' and it isn't very effective. Players tend to get really tilted when they lose to being kited.
I know metas come & go but fundamentally I just don't like the idea of one making a ton of scouting units & attacking with them. Scouts should either not attack or if they do their attack is just terrible in damage. A scouts role should be intel and/or detect stealth. Across the board. Not just talking dogs here... Liquipedia tells me (if that's current) that a SCOUT (dog) does 8 damage.) A medtech, which fires a pistol gun thing does 5 damage. Which makes sense. It's main job is to heal. Not fight) The scouts damage should be even less than a medtech.
why does the minimap on the replay look so much better than in game?
What do you mean?
@@BeoMulf in game the dots are so tiny on the minimap. but in video they look more like sc2
