Don't know if you mentioned it but the camps this patch give a passive bonus to every unit when taken, so the reason that the lancers could just dance around in the first game and kill the expansion without basically taking any damage from the brutes is that Mixu had both health camps, so the lancers had insane regen. You basically need to uncap the health camps with fiends to be able to fight them or get a perfect surround. Just in case anyone was confused by that interaction.
I think they wanted to overtune camps to create a meta where people would actually care about them as no one used to before. Now they can tone them down and people will still take them. Mostly just tone down the resources from killing the creeps and the passive bonuses would be good enough.
Excellent point here. I wish the patch notes would have expanded on that a little. Just checked them and it simply says ''Health camps now grant passive global health regeneration bonuses when captured.'' We need numbers Frost Giant!
Yes I was just thinking about that today. You can’t appreciate all the little micro tricks or focus fire at all without them. I really hope we see a reply overhaul soon!
I think this first game's strategy could've worked if he sent another attack on the left of the map at the same time, great way to fork the opponent by surprise
Personally, I like using brutes a lot, so I'm digging MSRM's style here. Regarding their matchups, I think brutes are intended to beat lancers, as they have comparable bulk and mobility, but brutes actually deal very good damage for their cost, and that is all before they turn into fiends. In a straight fight in previous builds, I'm pretty sure Brutes would beat lancers in a straight fight. They are entirely held back by being the most sluggish opening option in the game.
brutes beat lancer tho i wanted to correct you because you said that a lot in a fair 1v1 brutes win easily the thing is lancer have more attack range than brutes so top players can stutter step perfectly but still brutes win
@@Broockle we did test it on the discord brites beat lancer easily in even numbers even with upgrades due to their super high damage they are just super slow
Thanks for the clarification on this man. I wasn't 100% on that since the Brutes saw a significant nerf. I'll have to play some more Van/Inf (kinda been maining Cel since Frigate and haven't seen VG in too many matches yet)
@Stormgate_Central np man i am enjoying your casts brute spam is currently the meta vs vangaurd the double iron vault is the best strat at the moment since brutes beats lancer and can always threaten a surround by splitting into fiends it let infernals have the map control
Thank you for casting these matches! It’s hard to keep up with all of the tourneys each weekend but it’s nice to get to see highlights ❤
it's just really hard to love this game, thank you for trying.

this patch is basically all about camps. One base into camps seems to be the best macro build. They may be a little op, but i'm, enjoying it.

@@Stormgate_Centralseems to be allot of stuff that needs numbers….
That fiend play was inspiring
lack of health bars makes it very difficult to understand how fights are going.
Yeah, hopefully will be fixed soon.

dang, I love how many Fiends MSRM is able to make. How he even do that? 😅

they beat lancers now still because of the massive damage difference the only weakness of the brute is how slow they are
Brutes are cool, but they gotta have some bits of unit model redesign
Hehehe, you said doo doo 💩

hmm Microing Brutes and Gaunts vs Lancers and Exos feels really rough.
Might just be because the Exos outrange the Gaunts so much.
