Ostuni-Gallipoli-Monopoli-Polignano a Mare-Fasano-Lecce-Brindisi is my favourite triangle in puglia. Beautiful beaches, great food and drinks all provided by people that know how to live very close to heaven, while firmly rooted to their home soil.
This is so wild, Mark! I’ve been thinking of Bari for a couple of weeks now and you post this today? It’s a sign!
I'm from Bari and I received the recommendation to watch this video eheh. And my family has even a house in the countryside near alberobello. Matera is simply amazing , it's one of my favourite places in Italy for sure
My family is from Turi.😊
As italian, I'm glad you often visit and love my country. Ciao e buone vacanze 😊
We just came back from a very hot Puglia trip and it was fantastic. We stayed in Monopoli in one of those b&b along the ancient wall. We made orchiette in Lecce, catamaran/swam in the Adriatic in Polignano a mare, walked around Alberobello and toured some of the trulli. Walking food tour in Bari and ate the most fantastic foccacia. All this was done as day trips from Monopoli. We were fortunate that we booked drivers for all the day trips. Gorgeous part of Italy and will come back again to see Ostuni and stay in Matera. You are spot on about your suggestions. Thank you
would you mind giving me the info for your food tour and driver? I was also considering a cooking class. Do you recommend any that look good?
I don't know where to stay as a base for a tour , where would you suggest ?
People of Matera lived in caves much more recent than a 1000 years ago, more like up until the 1950s.
We're so speachless🤩 Thanks for the nice video with practical tips! We are going to Puglia next week and will definitely visit some of your recommended spots! 😊
My daugther-in-law is from Bari. Thank you for the video, Mark!
Matera looks so gorgeous!
Excellent tip on the cave system to get a break from the heat.
I hope you haven't left Puglia;
You still need to see Giovinazzo and Trani (same day trip close to Bari), and Castel del Monte, a fairy tale castle from the XIII century.
I have family in the south of Italy and visited Matera, Lecce, Pisticci, etc beautiful area. Great video! 👍🏻
Nice places I've never heard of. Thanks for the video Wol.
Matera is magical. I didn’t want to leave ❤
I’ve done the rounds down there a few times. I love it so much!!! You hit all the good bits! X
Such a beautiful place enjoy roaming around keep safe always
A great, informative video about a very interesting area of Italy.
Great advices. Thank you! 😊 I have a Puglia trip on my bucket list and this is very helpful 👍😊
Thats a great video, I will be sure to check this out when I go to Italy someday
Thanks for the tour. I get to visit many places virtually by watching you for years now.
Just came bacl from a trip in italy, bari and the overall region is amazing 🎉
I have been to all of these places. It is a Fabulous area. Thanks for the ❤memories ❤❤
Never heard of Matera, but now I wanna go.Looks amazing.
Matera is set film la passione di cristo
Just visited the Bari region last week, Matera was so stunning. such a special place
Ostuni is on my list this year. Can’t wait for the trip
Hey Mark, awesome video
The pronunciation for Monopoli is Monòpoli 😊
Love your videos
Un abbraccio from Italy !
Amazing video!! Thanks a lot.
Thanks Marks. We're hoping to visit Bari in January.
Go in Gravina! Ceglie Messapica! Oria! Tricase!...
Was originally going to do all this as part of my trip to Italy for the first time in a couple of months but instead opted for a couple of weeks on Sicily instead, can’t do everything I guess but you’ve made me wish I could - will just have to return I suppose! 😊
Where did you shoot that great shot with your wife with the sparkling city at dusk behind you? Heading there next month. Great video - as always.
The Bari area is very underated as its not often on " tourists " go to areas... Watching your vids over the years Mark its interesting to see how your kids have grown into little men now !!!!. Almost time to get Driving Licences Ha Ha .... Thats scary for you. How about a trip on the French Canals through Burgundy or Alsace. Hint Hint... Keep up the great work. Max. Australia.
I went to the trulli houses in alberello recently and it was great, it almost felt like Disneyland without the rides and stuff. Very great trip.
Hi Mark, when are you visiting Bohol island in the Philippines? Would love if you do a travel video there. Cheers! 😊
Ha ha. We could have been there around the same time as you. Visited a lot of the same placed. Went to lecce instead of Bari.
Hey there, you are finally in my city! I would love to meet you!
are you a guide?
@@destintides9223 no but i could easily be one
i love merchant of venice story
Been there this august, almost died from heat! Matera is amazing and Bari also! Alberobello seemed too touristy. overall great pleaces in Puglia and Matera, but I would not recommend going there jully -august
Also, Castel del Monte and Trani are not to be missed.
❤❤❤❤
Please be careful there are fire from today in Puglia. Stay safe and follow instructions. Please consider where you are traveling this month. Dunno if you are there yet
Do you also offer travel to Bari in February?
Come to Algiers and Oran!
Is it possible to do matera & alberobello day trip from bari in a single day
If yes can u help how can the same be done
Thanks
i india we have some rajsathan city with blue houses and marbles instead of white everyone same dry terrain
Monopoly is a Game 😂
You went Italy. Must be damn and really hot.
Watching the news, reporters say the all the Southern European countries are facing heatwaves
Been in those places many times
It's real hot in Italy! I live here
@@ilariapichi5911 I made the right choice not to spend my vacation in your country Italy, right now in summer. Even Greece, and Crotia
I knew that the Heatwave would hit and come by.
Hope you guys are staying in the cool. Get away from the Sun. Stay under the shade
I'm French. I'm actually in Austria for Holidays. Then I will go Germany
You did the right choice. September is a beautiful month to come here.
It’s summer. Move on.
On Sunday i gonna drive to Triest for vacation 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Lol European Weather report says it's damn hot in Italy and any Southern Countries due to the Global Warming/Climate change. Better think twice if I were you
@@christophermichaelclarence6003 I am from Austria 🇦🇹 Triest is just 2 hours away from me 👍🏻 and it’s also hot in Austria. But the temperature goes down next week 👍🏻🇮🇹🇦🇹 greetings from Geaz/Austria
@@79Testarossi Ok thanks for the heads up
By the way I'm French 🇫🇷
Finalmente qualcuno che visita anche il nord-est dell’Italia. Il Friuli Venezia Giulia è una regione stupenda, ricca di colori, sapori e belle persone! Non esiste solo il Sud……
As another response has already pointed out, it is currently 'damn hot' in Italy. And that includes Trieste in the far North-East corner.
How do you get to Matera ? I don’t see any public bus lines or train lines when on Apple Maps transit
There’s a train line. Not Trenatalia. Another company. Leaves from Bari
Is Bari a good vacation destination?
Absolutely! Polignano is beautiful too
Yes, it's Bari good.
you did not mention the beautiful town of Giovinazzo….😢
Matera is stunning.
Locorotondo is way nicer than Ostuni.
Hope you're slathering on the sunscreen Mark. Southern Italy is one of the last places I would go in middle of summer. Palermo in November was perfect.
(I used to live in Alaska, the perfect summer weather on the coast. But hey that's just me.)
the complete opposite of the American ticktocker who went to the amalfi coast and complained about the steps. Christ stoppped at Eboli is a great book about those old italian hill towns back over 100 years ago
a lot of movies a shot in bollywood too in those white bricks cities of italies on island evry one knows that
yeah we all know that ialty is birthpalce of fashiona nd renaissance
Traveled the region last year... didn't make it to Matera sadly but went to Alberobello, Ostuni, and Polignano... I do have to say to try and AVOID taking the bus between these cities as they are unreliable, infrequent, and very difficult to find where the stops actually are. Google maps was useless for that. Definitely rent a car, or take the trains between the coastal cities there.
if i go outside i go to hope town britsh columbia canada , canada is so beautiful like dumb and dumber movie
Great video. But you're missing someone, yes?
I am crossing my fingers so fucking tight in the hopes that you do a video on Bari, Italy.
What an absolute coincidence that Bari is my grandmother's hometown.
Sadly, I haven't been able to visit yet (I'm 31) due to my grandmother saying that she's now too old to deal with and because I'm disabled, chronically ill, fed through a feeding tube, bed ridden and because I don't have the money to visit because I simply cannot work.
I'm also hoping you make a video about your trip/visit to Bari because I would absolutely love to show that video to my grandmother, my mom and my mom's side of the family.
So... My fingers are so extremely tightly crossed! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I would definitely add Lecce to the list. Actually my favorite city in Puglia! :)
Lecce is gorgeous, and bonus points, there are actual beaches nearby.
At least, I'm the FIRST comment, HA ~!
ha ha ha you have such an intimidating perosnality so threatining
Seriously Mark, my biggest criticism of your videos is that you do not state at least approximately, THE DATE OF FILMING of your videos. i do not think it can be mid-July 2023, as currently temperatures in Southern Italy are extremely high. (40+ Celsius; 100+ Farenheit.)
Well, it’s summer. You are in the south of Italy. Every year is hot there.
@@Bottegadgfh Sorry, but you have missed the point. Temparatures in southern Europe in July 2023 have reached record highs. People are being advised NOT TO GO OUTSIDE. Tourist attractions (eg the Acropolis in Athens) are closed.
Damnit! 1 fricken person beat me to the FIRST like on this video. I hate that 1 person.
But now you can get to have a cool name like "Buzz" which is sooo much cooler than being a "Neil".
bla bla bla
i’m so happy u liked it here!! i always recommend tourists to check out the South because it has sm things to offer 🫶🏻
