The first song to come out off of the new album, Band on the Run, in the fall of '73. People were saying that Paul had lost his touch before that album was released. The prior two albums, Wings Wildlife and Red Rose Speedway weren't all that well received. Paul silenced the critics when he delivered Wings masterpiece, Band on the Run. Even John liked Band on the Run.
While Linda was no Lennon or Harrison to hold a candle to Paul's greatness, I say she still held her own here-- singing- actually harmonizing just fine here and mixing things up with the boys. Not ONE SCREAM, or banshee-like wail that's just inexplicable to members of the band or listeners everywhere is heard from her. God, I sure miss the lovely Linda still being here to be Pauly's muse. Cancer is such a Bastard of a disease.😠😔😢
Wow. I thought this song was "Hell on Wheels:"?? But it was about my Mom Helen Witecki who would not give up driving until the last minute. It's actually "Helen Wheels " !! Jeez Mom wished I had your steam
This was a #10 hit in the US on the Billboard Hot 100, and it was included in the American release of the Band on the Run album. For some reason it was not included in the UK release of the album.
I believe paul McCartney nsmed one of his cars HELLEN wheels. Nothing like sticking it to the man .Back then u were not allowed to use profanity on records or tv or raido .Good old Paul McCartney comes up with this song .

Wow ! Helen Wheels / Live and Let Die / Band on the Run / Juniors Farm... soundtrack to 1973 and 1974. Linda was brilliant, and hot aswell.

That was typical of the early Beatles albums too. US gets the singles on the album, UK doesn’t.
Like Linda platts in her hair
Make This Journey Last !!
Got's to like Paul and Linda in their prime. Only 78 people?
Mentions my home city 'Glasgow'.
