A great Rock song written and sang by one of the geniuses of Rock and Roll. Both the iconic 'Band On The Run' and 'Junior's Farm' were released in 1974 as singles and I still have both 45's. 'Jet', was another hit on the 1974 album of 'Band On The Run.' If time could only stand still for the great Rockers of the Greatest 4 Decades of Rock & Roll. !950's, 1960's, 1970's and 1980's. There will never another Rock & Roll era to even compare it to.
Band On The Run, the song, and Juniors farm were from two different planets. BOTR was neutered bubblegum, where Juniors Farm kicked some butt. The majority of his solo stuff was pretty syrupy.

The band rehearsed the song several times in Curly Putnam Jr's garage during those hot summer days in Tennessee in 1974 when air conditioning was rarely used . I learned this information from Dan Ealey who was there hanging out with Wings at the time .
Imo it was paul's biggest mistake to put Linda on stage. She didn't rock, she was not a musician, and her presence severely pissed off fans. The rest of the band didn't want her on stage either.

The song is based on true events that took place at an actual farmer's farm whose nickname was Junior ..the farm is located outside of Nashville Tennessee in the town of Lebanon...... Brilliant guitar virtuoso Jimmy RIP
Been to the farm and my father Dan Ealey spent 3 weeks with Paul and wings at that farm in 74, the owners name was Junior Putman . Hard to believe but its true, look him up.
It wasn't a farmers farm, it was Curly Putmans farm. He is the writer of the song Green, Green Grass of Home and co writer of the most famous country song ever written, He Stopped Loving Her Today.
I also love the Beatles but not at first. I was into R&B and 'doowop", but it was Rubber Soul that first converted me. Then Revolver followed by Sgt Pepper's converted me forever. Then through McCartney and Wings, the rest is history! BTW, I still love doowop too.
one of my all time favorite songs Paul did in his entire career, I personally thought he was at his best with the Wings, despite this song reaching #3 on Billboard the radio stations hardly seems to play this song on the radio.
Interesting...I disagree but I admire you for thinking independently (I'm sure you know most of the world disagrees with you). I DO think he was a better SINGER in the 70s than 60s but I think he was a better songwriter in the 60s. Not that I think he wrote terrible songs after the Beatles but the Beatles songs are the ones he'll be remembered for 200 years from now, imo.
Lynn Turman I wouldn't be surprised if most of the world would disagree with me, I'm sticking to how I feel rather than agree with everyone, I don't like Paul's work from the 80's very much though, I can see why many people would remember Paul when he was with the Beatles
My take is Paul was GREAT in the Beatles, and only just "very good" after that. Personally imo I think he did some great (uh...I mean very good) work in the 80s, and the 90s, and the 2000s (recently bought his latest "NEW" & thought it had some "very good" songs on it.) His work since the 60s & 70s isn't #1 with a bullet but imo its still really good. Tug of War, Off the Ground, Fine Line, Sing the Changes...just a few of the "great" songs he's done since the glory years...And there's a lot more. Believe me, just scratching the surface...
This song was about my friend's family farm. Junior AKA Curly Putman (my friend's father) a notable Nashville producer/songwriter who wrote or co wrote "He Stopped Loving Her Today and Green Green Grass of Home". Two country anthems. This so great on so many levels. First and foremost, the tune itself, minus any visuals, still stands up. Now, add to that the wide angle / fish eye lens, the cheesy, cheap-ass visuals effects (which were mind-blowing at the time) and the fact that Linda looks like David Bowie - it all adds up to a great experience. Does anyone else wish Paul could’ve been frozen in time so he’d never get old or at least hit the pause button?
A great Rock song written and sang by one of the geniuses of Rock and Roll. Both the iconic 'Band On The Run' and 'Junior's Farm' were released in 1974 as singles and I still have both 45's. 'Jet', was another hit on the 1974 album of 'Band On The Run.' If time could only stand still for the great Rockers of the Greatest 4 Decades of Rock & Roll. !950's, 1960's, 1970's and 1980's. There will never another Rock & Roll era to even compare it to.
I respect your opinion but mine would be 60's, 70's, 80's, & early 90's.
Band On The Run, the song, and Juniors farm were from two different planets. BOTR was neutered bubblegum, where Juniors Farm kicked some butt. The majority of his solo stuff was pretty syrupy.
I don't think so my love and beware my love though on different albums were his best hits
Me I still dig it in 24. JR McKinney. Glad I'm still here to enjoy it.
R.I.P. Jimmy and Linda

SeniorSparky66 And Junior.
🌹Cancer is a terrible disease.RIP.
And now Denny
That's just a kickass rock & roll song.... very underrated... one of Wings best songs!
No band never sounds like the wings 70.s baby 😮😊!!!!!!
I used to sing this song at the top of my lungs when I was a kid! I miss my childhood :(
Ysabel Cluver me too :(
me too and I could hit that last crescendo at the end !
I was right there with ya!!
Blink182Tomforever then why the fuck are you listen to Blink 182 when you should be listening to cheap tricks first record
Keep singing
Jimmy McCullough was a young guitar virtuoso until his untimely demise at age 26. He was on his way to becoming a star.
Had he stayed with wings who knows might've lived. What a damn shame
How did he die?
@John C thank you never knew
The poison of Satan killed Jimmy
@@philiptucci2458
Did Satan inject the illegally substance into his body as well or did he willingly seek out the drug dealer who exchanged the heroin for the cash he was offered?
Goddamn I have loved this song for more than 40 yrs!
More McCartney genius!
Love this song 1st time in... '73?
My favorite Wings song. Some great guitar playing. Really tight band. Paul and Linda McCartney really know how to rock.
The band rehearsed the song several times in Curly Putnam Jr's garage
during those hot summer days in Tennessee in 1974 when air conditioning was rarely used .
I learned this information from Dan Ealey who was there hanging out with Wings at the time .
Imo it was paul's biggest mistake to put Linda on stage. She didn't rock, she was not a musician, and her presence severely pissed off fans. The rest of the band didn't want her on stage either.
His bass just powers this great tune
It's amazing how many amazing songs one man can create, there are many, but this is one of my favorites.
forgot about this great rock tune my Dad was a sales rep for capitol records through the 60's always been a Paul McCartney fan
Every time I listen to Junior's Farm about 5 times in a row, I get the urge to listen Magneto and Titanium Man next a couple of times.
@@lindadee2053 me too !
Being from Tucson, I might be a touch partial to Linda. She's looking lovely and singing proudly! Miss her 💙
Simply one of the best rocking singles of the 70’s by one of the biggest groups of the 70’s....enough said!
One of Paul's greatest!
Fantastic rocker from 1974 !!!
I was never a fan of Pauls solo stuff, and I was never a real big beatles fan but THIS song lights me UP!! A great pure rock and roll kickass tune!! Yeh,I guess Paul is a real rocker.
SO WAS THE REST OF THIS BAND I LIKE THEM BETTER THAN THE BEATLES I LIKE EARLY BEATLES STUFF BEFORE SERGEANT PEPPER JIMMY MCCULLOCH WAS LEGEND IS A LEGEND GORGEOUS MAN HE WAS WHAT A DISGRACE HOW HE DIED AND IT ONLY 26 YEARS OF AGE DENNY LAINE GORGEOUS THE DRUMMER WAS GREAT ALSO AND SO WAS WHEN THEY BROUGHT JOE ENGLISH INTO THE FOLD FROM THE UNITED STATES LIKE I AM FROM LINDA WAS NOT VERY ATTRACTIVE SHE'S VERY UGLY HEAVY MAKEUP HERE VERY PLAIN UGLY LOOKING WOMAN LOOKS LIKE THEM CRACK HOSE THAT YOU SEE IN THE 90S SHE GOT LUCKY MARRIED PAUL HE COULD HAVE DONE BETTER THIS PAN IS PHENOMENAL YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS
@@anaparada7219 Sounds to me like you're just jealous of her.
@@anaparada7219 Do you know how to stop and then restart a fucking sentence????
Ana Parada put those claws away. You couldn’t be more catty if you tried. Linda was a good looking woman but beauty isn’t just on the outside. Linda & Paul loved each other & most people except you love them both. I’m sure you know the saying “if you’ve got nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all”.
I love Paul’s bass on this!😄
It's the whole song, really. The non sensical words prove you could sing anything to that bass and it would sound great.
The song is based on true events that took place at an actual farmer's farm whose nickname was Junior ..the farm is located outside of Nashville Tennessee in the town of Lebanon...... Brilliant guitar virtuoso Jimmy RIP
I live right down the road from it. I went and saw it not long ago. Very Beautiful place
Been to the farm and my father Dan Ealey spent 3 weeks with Paul and wings at that farm in 74, the owners name was Junior Putman . Hard to believe but its true, look him up.
Proud Boy that’s so cool!!
@@madelinebandrews Hes got some awesome stories.
It wasn't a farmers farm, it was Curly Putmans farm. He is the writer of the song Green, Green Grass of Home and co writer of the most famous country song ever written, He Stopped Loving Her Today.
I'm listening to all kinds of music since 1964 but the beatles are on another universe musically. It's unreal what the done in 7 years
I also love the Beatles but not at first. I was into R&B and 'doowop", but it was Rubber Soul that first converted me. Then Revolver followed by Sgt Pepper's converted me forever. Then through McCartney and Wings, the rest is history! BTW, I still love doowop too.
Great classic rock! Underappreciated but one of the best, Take me back.......
one of my all time favorite songs Paul did in his entire career, I personally thought he was at his best with the Wings, despite this song reaching #3 on Billboard the radio stations hardly seems to play this song on the radio.
You thought he was at his best with Wings? You might wanna check out the band he was in before that...;)
Lynn Turman I have listened to the Beatles and always preferred Paul's work with the Wings more, I do like the Beatles.
Paul Linda and Wings stayed on the farm in 1974 when they were recording this song.
interesting. I'd love to read about it
@@Bella-nt7ec There is a site on facebook titled Paul McCartney and Wings at Junior's Farm. Those are pictures of old friends of mine. Most of us were asked to stay away so Paul could have his privacy. We followed orders but I wish I had crashed the party.
@@Bella-nt7ec well there were pictures of my friends i guess they got buried

I'd've been happy just to be there and know Paul is at arm's length
This song reinforced my faith in the human race 45 yrs. Ago. I was lucky enough to see them do it " Live " in 1976.
Your so lucky to see them in 76. I had to wait a decade longer in tempe az. This guy is a living angel, saint and all around genius of a gentleman.
Made it to
Sir Paul's 36th birthday & Ms. Linda's homecoming

Great Show!!
Whopping $11.00 / ticket
Damn how much you'd think a ticket is nowadays to see McCartney you'd be lucky to be able to see a tiny dot of Paul for $11
This song totally rocked when it was on the radio back in the day!

What a rocking ass song! Gdamn I love Paul McCartney.
Greetings let's not forget the rest of the band they're all legends the drummer Joe English came on board later on he was a drummer from Rochester New York.... Let's not forget the legend guitarist prodigy Jimmy! He was gorgeous to boot....may he rest in peace
Heh not by anyone who has to play and sing his parts!
@@anaparada7219 Funny, You mention Joe here. A, very good Friend of mine knew Joe and joined the Band, He left to go w/ Paul. Around the same time ,I had known the Mgmnt. That was going to represent Wings . They told Me to make a Tape ,to send . I did ,I used a Guitar plyr. That ended up w/ Mick Jagger and Kid Creole. I always thought Joe was English until Jack told Me the story . Very small World then.
@@DYNODRUM greetings from the great state of Arkansas is it's a little girl in all this music came outJimmy McCulloch stands out in my mind of course and all the other bands he was in with his brother Jack who was a drummer so whatever happened to Joe English I'm guessing he's back home in Rochester living in New York he looks very different now from a picture I seen of him..... He never got creditthat he deserved as a drummer and as a person in this business is no good it's very fickle field of druggies losers and users where were the McCartney's when Jimmy McCulloch had his drug problem they did nothing to help him disgrace he was only twenty-six years old in 1979 when he passed away Jimmy was gorgeous Beyond and what a talent phenomenal they were all just did that he wanted he could have done better Jimmy that's forshould have let Jimmy get more credit and do more solos in and songs and everything the Paul McCartney has to have the spotlight of course they're too selfish and self-indulgent and that wife of his she was okay but just kind of odd and not that great of a human being either she wasn't ugly but she wasn't beautiful either...add Jimmy not become famous he probably would have been alive todayhis brother Jack looks very similar he still alive today with his wife Annabelle I believe they had children God bless you and yours
It turns out that Macca hangs out with members of the WEF

I hear songs by Wings and I am transportated right back to high school. I never thought myself as a big Beatles fan, they were my older sister's favorite, I thought of myself more of Wings fan.......after all I WAS in high school, that is until I found my old Ipod. (1st generation) After it was finally charged, I found several, no many, many Beatles songs on it, as well as Wing's songs. It is filled with 60's, 70's and 80's songs. My childhood is contained on an Ipod. It's a treasured possession. This song is on the Ipod (of course) and had the 5 star rating, as did all the Beatles songs. Guess after all I am a big Beatles fan. Oh, to go back in time and hear these songs when they first played on the radio.........
Favorite Paul M. & Wings song ever!!!! I remember when this came out on the radio.
One of my all time favorite McCartney songs! I never tire of this song.
As a songwriter, McCartney is the master!
Does anybody else miss Linda ⁉️. Kinda like that Fleetwood Mac singer Christine Mac....RIP ROCK ROYALS
I know it may sound crazy to ya but this is one of my favorite songs of all time. always makes me smile and that's gotta be worth something. so simple are the lyrics they become genius....
Second single I ever bought after Sparks ! ☘️
Not crazy at all! I actually have this song programmed in the Sirius app in my car. It will switch to the song whenever it's played on any channel.
This song, Silly Love Songs and MY Love -my favorite Wings and Mc Cartney productions- Thank You !
Prob my fav song from P.M. and Wings. Great song. I like many of his 70's singles from RAM especially.
Hi Hi Hi was a pretty rockin song from Wings as well. But Juniors Farm may be my favorite too.
Paul is in his prime and the tune just kicks ass! Music Videos before MTV!
+Jeff Kramer HOLY CRAP, you're right! JUST LIKE Bowie!! Seeing this now vs. back in the day, when the screen flashed neon pink, I was wondering if I wasn't having a stroke! ;-)
+J Just And she was a talented lady , focus on her background vocals..not too bad
+mrlafayette1964 Are you kidding? Have you heard the isolated track from the live performance of Hey Jude? She had no real talent, none, not as a musician or singer. She knew this herself and was under no delusions about it. She was probably a very nice person, but talented? No.
LOL I thought I was the only one who thought Linda looked like David Bowie!
