@@bastlinstruments that’s a million$ question! I can’t answer that but for me it’s the pure interaction you have with it -it’s so hands on it’s like a “groove box synth”
It so easy to use and get great sounds from the wild and furious to mellow and chilled
I sold my o coast to fund mine and I’ve never looked back.

Great videos, loving the tutorials, so many things I forget in the moment when I'm playing these help remind me to use more of Soft Pop's feature powers in my modular chains. It's such an amazing semi-modular that surprises me in accidental and wonderful ways sometimes, I absolutely love it. I have mine mounted in my eurorack for now, love being able to decide if I want to take it on the go or fill 32 HP! Guess I need a blank panel that says SPII goes here! Loving the digital osc update as well!

Also another question, with the trig+play looping FX.
Is it also possible to make this part longer?
It feels like if i make a long sequence by chained patterns that the FX loops over all the patterns instead of just the few ones I wanted to add the FX to.
I really like the Softpop2. But I got to say that my least favorite part of it is to create scales.
I find it really confusing and very time consuming. Would it be possible to maybe make some software editor for it?
Or perhaps make it more intuitive like the ''Intellijel scales''? where you can just turn on and off notes you like or not on the fly with easy button presses.

Wish everything could be quantized to stuff other than semitones for us microtonal peeps! Just an idea :)
You can use Fine tune function for that. Of course everything will be shifter the same but it is something
@@bastlinstruments That wouldn't really cut it for microtonal music, it would just shift everything up or down as you suggest. I just wish we could fine tune each note in the scale individually (e.g. for music from different cultures). Just an idea for a future update :)
Is the CV output post-quantizer or pre-quantizer? Would be great to sequence other synths with this.
It can be in CV SEQ or in CV PITCH TRACKING mode. Basically it is pre and post quantizer with some other stuff

I bought the B Drum Kastle and found it very fun. Then, I learned about the Softpop 2 and thought it would be like the B Drum on steroids. But actually, I'm not finding it very inspiring.. It feels more like an overpriced mono synth Pocket Operator, with an arpeggiator. Will probably send it back.
