Always thought the Cream studio version was too short. Effective, but just seemed "truncated" for lack of better words. Extended versions really wake "Badge" up. What I waited to hear for years. Bravo Mr C. Few if any can equal you.
Best rock drummer in the world at that time, and Top 10 all time for sure. Steve Gadd could play any genre. That cant be said for some of the alleged greats if the more modern era.
..this must be 1/2 a century ago now,.....? Still sounds good, all the 'Old Boppers,'...........Mick, Kieth, etc....cummin out,....doin a "Swan Song,'....and it will be there last..............I was a child, now an OAP..................................66 yrs plus, what I am trying to say is that, I'm....'Pissed,"....like I was then, lol, lol, ...xxx....
Probably one of the best live performances of this tune imo.
Absolutely. Clapton is feeling it and the tempo is perfect.
‘85, ‘02, ‘05 were better
Eric is a rock Icon that other artist can depend on. A gem.
Steve Gadd is one of the Best Drummers he's worked with apart from Ginger Baker he puts his soul into his drumming respect 👌
Check him out In the band Stuff.. all were great players
exactly why I am here
I’m not ordinarily a fan but he plays this well. I like his choice to play right on the beat of not marginally ahead
Steve Gadd, the one and only
Ginger Baker couldn't carry Steve Gadd's drumsticks.Gadd is without a doubt the best drummer on the planet.
my buddy Dave Bronze on bass doing his best Jack Bruce riffs!
Dave Bronze and Steve Gadd are LOCKED IN!
This guy is incredible on that bass line....powerful with "sparkly bits". Beautiful!
He's the 007 of guitar
Clapton is another level, man. Even that little doodle he does before he starts the song is on another level.
This is the quintessential version of Badge

You can tell this is an older concert because people don't have cell phones up in the air. Oh to go back to those days for concerts. 😊
Q
I agree
Yes, it's much better to live in the moment.
I agree, live music was way better back then than today. Because actual instruments were played, not this playback shit.

2023 just listening…
play this song at my funeral. play it when I die and play it while im living
Yea Katie Sisson on backup vocals going over top of chorus at end is glorious! Gadd is killer. Eric is King.
Steve Gadd!!! You've got it...
Eric turned around and smiled plenty of times even laughing at one of the fills it was so sick! His double flam work is disgusting!
Tony williams approved
Still working with the gadd man to this day.. Eric and Steve are great friends
Best solo ever
Clapton always brings his A game to Badge ...Have to say my co- favorite along with "Crossroads"........
Mr. Slowhand never gets old - the Master on supreme form. I was there (& on other occasions, too). Gadd outdid himself that day.
Outstanding.
Noone understands dynamics like Clapton
Eric the love of my life😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Do people not realize what a great voice!!!@
Anyone that is a big Clapton fan, buy this DVD. You'll thank me later.
Want to learn guitar. This is your goal
Steve Gadd is the greatest F Ning drummer of all times.
What a truly great band. Big up for Eric & Co!
Daleee... Que versión por dios!!!!
Eric is on this it’s magnificently magical 🌷
I was there.
By far the best live vid of this song I’ve ever seen
Best rock drummer in the world at that time, and Top 10 all time for sure. Steve Gadd could play any genre. That cant be said for some of the alleged greats if the more modern era.
Best rock drummers - Tied - Ginger Baker and Keith Moon, and then no offense - Mitch Mitchell.
@@briankorbelik2873 - Explain why Mitch Mitchell was better than Neil Peart.
any day.@@bluesandmore786
Awesome version of this Clapton/Harrison comp..🤞👍
Nicely clean shaven and rocking that black leather jacket and shredding that guitar. My ideal man.
Perfect EC perfomance!
Love this concert

Du super Clapton
One of his Best oh yea
wow!!:)
0.49 Clapton looking longingly at someone ...... Then kills it ....
I caught that. Perhaps one of the backup singers.
I used to think this was an Eric Clapton solo song and not a Cream song for some reason
Synergy Eric + Steve is unbelievable
where is my friend where is my self
Steve fucking Gadd
There are very few musicians out there who can not only light up the stage or the stadium but the whole city when they play. EC is one of them❤
Steve Gadd!
Just fine
Where
Does anyone know what Eric is smirking at, at 49 seconds in?
Cried away her life since she fell out the cradle
Great song and performance by Eric, written by George Harrison...……………………..
Written with George
:-)
I know that's Steve Gadd on drums. Can I get a rundown on the other musicians here, please?
Chris steinham on keyboards, Andy Fairweather low rhythm guitar
