Is “ Royal Blue” simply Ultrmarine and Titaium? There are a number of mixtures on the internet and at the same time I don’t find Gambling or others offering a “ Royal Blue”
@@rightthere6550 It does depend upon what country and/or line of paints you have available. Try to mix it with the colors you mentioned. I think the main thing is to avoid a "clean" blue, maybe with a tiny smidge of green or red?
Always a pleasure to see a new Davies installment to tie off the weekend. Does anyone else watch the video once and then have it play again in the background while painting? Eagerly awaiting part two Stuart - much appreciated!
Stewart, I really enjoyed my Sunday with you. Please🙏 delight us with part 2. I love the sky. Can't wait to see part 2. Don't waist to much time editing, we are all adults here. It's all about the sky and I learn so much watching you, all the way to the end!
What i like to do now in the evenings is to sit down and pour myself a nice glass of port and watch Stuart Davis doing his paintings its great therapy. I look foward to your next one these are really good!
Dear Mr Davies this is the first time I’ve watched you paint. I’m so impressed and I laughed a lot at your funny bits. I’ve been painting a few years, and my 81st birthday is soon. Thank you!
Would you be willing to dedicate a video to just "Detailiated" techniques? By the way, great word. :) Your land and sky scapes are absolutely beautiful, but it's your subtle finesse of details that bring your paintings alive. For example: The glow behind a tree, a few bright highlights at the top of bushes, etc...... Thank you again for sharing all your amazing talent.
Just wonderful!!! I really like that sky and of course the colors you used in sky. This red is absolutely perfect, I like it! And by the way, you have a very smart kitty! I love your humor! Biggest thanks!
Hello Master Stuart, I've been following your channel for a while and of course I've already subscribed. I love channels where I have the feeling that it is primarily about the topic and not about making as much money as possible. You approach the matter with so much passion, creativity and experience and share your wonderful work with us. It's just a pleasure to watch you at work and to follow your thoughts. That's why I want to thank you very much. I particularly like that you paint so casually and freely and let your creativity run free. I am now 53 years old and have never painted. I have no idea why I've been interested in oil painting for a few months. All I know is that I've been interested in painting for some time. At my age, I already had a number of jobs and gained a lot of experience, including creative jobs. I have been dealing with intellectual issues for most of my life. Not long ago I decided to paint some of my really remarkable dreams. Some of those dreams are still vivid in my mind, even though it was many years, if not decades, ago. I don't know why that is. It's going to be a long road to learn and implement. And I think your unique help will help me a lot. To put it in your words, 'I hope that makes some sense'. Thank you for being there for people like me. Your work is wonderful. :-)
After a prolific month of fantastic tutorials we are treated to a beautiful landscape in portrait orientation! Unexpected but brilliant. Thank you Stuart.
I've watched several of your worth while videos and love every minute of them. Your techniques are just pure "magical" and results are just stunning! Love it from the USA.
Looking forward to part 2. So far...Part 1 looks just detailiated enough. Particularly love the hints of the reddish sky color in the distant hills. Stay Safe.
I put this on big screen Telly so I could really fall into that sky. This is very inspiring, I may try such moody clouds for today’s exercise. Thank you for these wonderful videos, Mr. Davies, they’re both useful and soothing. 🙏🏼🌹
I’m so happy that I’ve ‘discovered’ you and your videos. Yes, I certainly have Subscribed! Love your techniques, your commentaries, subtle humor and new word. Thank you for your time to share with us.
Love it. Of course I love it -- I love all your paintings! You are such an excellent teacher, Stuart. And that comes from one who taught for 24 years (not painting, no, but the skills are the same, I think).
Very delightful painting Stuart. The lapis lazuli and all the various colours that followed in your composition makes for a very beautiful scene. Thanks for sharing this with us. till next time, take care Paul.
That sky is fantastic. In fact, you’ve just helped me solve how to create more boldness & interest in a sky Ive partially painted on a landscape done portrait style, that looks rather boring, but I was sort of stuck as to how to liven it up. Thank you! I would def watch your, “part two videos.” l like to see how you do the finishing touches, & it’s helpful for learning 😊. P.S. I’m glad you have a 🦎 security system in place 🐱
I was very busy doing all sorts of things as I just moved house, but in all my media's were playing your video in different rooms. I will certainly watch this video again later on, but was really mesmerized by this one, so I stood idle regularly, just watching. Thank you for making a busy day lighten up so much.
Master Stewart : Good morning🌹you are realy a philsopher of color and style ..and l envy the sudents who learn from you ..and how l wished to become your student to learn dirctely from you this philosophy in technique and color…notic : lwish and hope you will give us the opportunity to see the palette of colors when you mix color and when and how to use color solvents(linded oil or another thing…) thank you thanke so much…🙏🙏🙏💐
Amazing painting once again! I'm always looking forward to your video's, so please make them as long as you can ;o). And listening to you inventing the occasional new English word is very amusing as well... Thank you, Stuart!
Oh Stuart, what a delight in finding you. Your approach is so chilled, love your painting n techniques, humour n voice, new sub here😁, eagerly waiting for part 2. Gratitude blessings n peace being sent to you and yours 🎨🙏🕊️🙏
brilliant, thank you for sharing! as a fine art student, I always love your videos- so comprehensive and well described, and especially having to study from home I feel like I'm back in the studio again :D
Oh how wonderful..another beautiful painting!!! Happy Thanksgiving from Alberta Canada. I cant wait for part 2!!!! Thank you so much for doing these amazing videos. I always watch from start to finish happily.
Definitely a pleasure listening to you all the way to the end. There were several good chuckles, I always enjoy that. And the painting, so nice and your detailing of your process of layering was really illuminating, so thank you.
I love the spontaneous nature of your paintings. You make it seem that they just "happen", but I know you are "molding" the painting into a pleasing form that you know from experience, when it's right. Thank you for sharing and I love listening to your commentary as well. It keeps me smiling! God bless!
I lived in France for a couple of monts. I was there (Domaine du Sablou) to work as a blacksmith and tracktor driver. And i've seen sky's like this almost every evening. I like this painting. And on the drone footage i saw a tracktor and a hay trailor and hay bales in the field and a couple of building roof tops. Just a couple of these kind of things could make a painting just more interesting. But if it's too much it could destroy a painting. Knowing when to stop is a good thing. And while on topic if you ever would think the painting didn't work pls don't hide it away but just show it to us. Because too me that would take away some of the exiting thrills of painting. When you already know the painting is gonna work out well then where is the fun? If you, one day show us an epic failure (in your eyes) that is interesting to see, then the next painting video is gonna be exiting. Because we don't know for sure what is going to happen :D I want to feel it, watching you paint the painting. My English is not verry good so this is the best i can explain it really. I love seeing you paint and to hear you say "hmm why not" And i know there issn't a real epic failure. I hope next year to go to France again. Whatching the sun set, smoking my own made pipe or perhaps my 1930's WDC Wellington pipe with no worries at all and a glass of sweet red wine. Greetings from the Netherlands,, Kitty.
Recently found your page, you are very inspiring to watch and learn with, your paintings are quite mesmerizing, and the way you explain your process is wonderful 😊 If I may suggest because i do find it difficult to find your part 2's of your paintings if it's possible to add a link to the 1st painting? Of the 2nd painting, and thank you for your time to teach and share your wonderful talents😊, I look forward to watching your paintings each day from America🥰
Concerning part two, I would love to know what are the second layer of colors to use on the landscape, probably a "sap green" somewhere 😂 I have just made my first landscape painting of the NZ hills around me using everything you've taught me, I feel so grateful for your giving nature, and your gentle and humorous words. Thank you Stu-Art Davies!!
I love your paintings! I would love to master this type of painting! Need to learn how to work with oild, but its so intimidating to me! I wish you would come up with a bundle with all you need to do this type of painting and sell them. I've Bought oils and felt like ive wasted it alot of money because the paints seem like trash. please consider selling bundles of supplies with brushes.
I enjoy your comments, although it also occurs to me that sometimes trying to explain why one thing works and another doesn't is like trying to explain the inexplicable...some things are simply intuitive, no thought required...even accidental as you often point out.
Stunning! I am no longer scared of a blank canvas thanks to you. I am 76 and just starting my adventure with oils.
Have fun!
Can't wait for Part II
Stuart, after one of your clips, I find myself ready to start a painting. You are definitely a cure for "painter's block!!"
Fully agree to that :)
Me too.
That is so true!

If you stopped right now.......I love this painting! BEFORE you started the landscape...90 year old Colorado artist. The sky was magnificent.
Always a pleasure to see a new Davies installment to tie off the weekend. Does anyone else watch the video once and then have it play again in the background while painting? Eagerly awaiting part two Stuart - much appreciated!
Yes!!
I listen in the background first and then go back to watch 😊
I listen and watch many times in a sort of coma. Eventually I get the gist and do much less gardening. Bonus!
Stewart, I really enjoyed my Sunday with you. Please🙏 delight us with part 2. I love the sky. Can't wait to see part 2. Don't waist to much time editing, we are all adults here. It's all about the sky and I learn so much watching you, all the way to the end!

I REALLY hope to see pt2. If not thanks for all your gifts anyway Stuart. Love to you!!
I just have to say it: I simply love the calm atmosphere and subtle humour of your highly interesting videos!
Outstanding again Stuart, totally absorbing and very inspiring. Keep them coming please. 😊
the drone shots are awesome. they make me think about the old days when there was only horse and cart. thank you

Beautiful with the red sky added. Can’t wait to view part two tomorrow. 😊
I love the nonchalant commentary Stuart - "It's what I call, all over the place". That gives the rest of us hope :)
The clouds are spectacular with the red sunset, love this.
Just wonderful!!! I really like that sky and of course the colors you used in sky. This red is absolutely perfect, I like it!
And by the way, you have a very smart kitty! I love your humor! Biggest thanks!
Stuart's at it again - chucking and scrumbling and definitely not too detailiated.
Bravo!

Love the long videos! Always excited to watch you paint. Thank you Stuart!!!!!!
I like your fearless attack of the canvas & the way you remove paint to achieve luminosity. Thank you for another great lesson. 👍👍
Only men like Stuart Davies can paint a beautiful Landscape.
Jesus!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful expressions of colours, that brings
out the expected and necessary scenes that will make a Landscape.
Looking forward to part 2.
So far...Part 1 looks just detailiated enough.
Particularly love the hints of the reddish sky color in the distant hills. Stay Safe.
I’m still here, you’ve stopped me cleaning again Stuart. Can’t do anything when you’re on. 😂😂😂❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

As always, Stuart, it's been a pleasure. I watch several artists and even though they are very good, you are the most fun.
