Adobe has been updating their art and illustration app Fresco. Today i'm going over some of the new features like the iPhone app, the ribbon brush and much more.

The vector erasing thingy is something I use a lot in CSP. It's a neat feature and I think really worth looking into doing more with when you get a chance if you keep using Fresco at elast.
That feature is integral to my comics' inking technique in Clip Studio, where lines on Vector Layers are "thrown" deliberately past where they should stop, so that I can erase and have very clean linework. Fresco is (now) the only other app I know of that offers this feature.

I just started playing around with this app and honestly, I like it! I’ve been pretty heavily using Adobe software for years and I think that now they are finally hitting their stride with the mobile apps. Photoshop, Illustrator & Fresco have all come along way and are actually very good apps now!
THEY FINALLY ADD PRESSURE CURVE OMG! I l absolutely loved Fresco’s drawing engine and I used it for many occasions where I wanted my work to have a more traditional-art feeling to it, but unfortunately my Apple Pencil is kind of messed up and has a very high minimum threshold pressure sensitivity so I have to press really hard for the pressure to register, and this hasn’t been a problem for Procreate as I can just adjust the curve, but Fresco only offered five preset different options for pressure, not a curve, and I thought the curve would never be added..... I’m getting back to utilising Fresco again!

I've been watching quite a few of these and you're the first one to teach me about the shortcut key to scroll out and then are able to delete lines outside. How do you figure out those type of shortcuts?
Does anyone know if you can use a custom brush to erase in Fresco? Also does it have adjustments like Hue Saturation, Curves, Gaussian Blur, etc?
Do you think this app will ever make it over to Andoird tablets? I just bought a Samsung Tab S7 and I have a CCS account so it would be great.

Hey Brad :) I was just wondering how often you've had to replace your Apple Pencil Nib? Read some stuff online that it only lasts a month when using paperlike!
one thing that's alway confused me w/ adobe vector iPad apps, like Draw, and Fresco too, I assume: you can open vector lines in desktop AI, and they'll have varying thickness, but the lines will be expanded. editable, yes, but not easily.
Can you do an updated video on Adobe Fresco just focusing on vector drawing with the vector pen, clipping masks and vector trim doing one of your drawings with a review of drawing characters? That would be great. Thnx
Vector trimming: Absolutely been waiting for this in Illustrator for years. I still hope they will incorporate it in Ai, BUT this is a real blessing for inkers. Enables you to “overshoot” lines and trim off the excess with ease. It really allows for high quality thick and thin inking.
I just wish they would put some air-brushes into Fresco and enable one to create a fill layer like Procreate does...
That said, this iteration is making Fresco a serious contender. Although Procreate is still the hands down best value for your money illustration program out there.
I wanted to try this thing on my non surface windows 2 in 1 but that app just crushed. It didn't run at all

I don’t know if it’s just me, but Brad seems to be unimpressed by Fresco. I mean he says all the information a review should have but the energy level of the message is super low.

Will be interesting to see if the phone version of Fresco will ever come to Android. Could finally give Android users a proper Procreate rival with the active stylus support of Samsung's flagships being a nice bonus.
the thing I like best about the 2020 update is that it is finally unlocked for windows so I can use it on my Cintiq meaning I now have 2 apps where I can literally go from one device to the other seamlessly and not have 2 different interfaces and having to retrain my brain. Clip Studio Paint and Fresco. It was so annoying when they were locking it to only a few devices
Can u do a 2021/22 update?
I tested this yesterday and what really bugged me is that it has no adjustments whatsoever, which is really a dealbreaker to me. I I can not change the color or the the contrast it is just unusable for me.
The Fresco phone app is only on iPhone atm, no android? I'd love this on the Note20 that is coming tomorrow!

Fresco has free version tho, like the basic brushes and stuff, most of them are already available in free version so you don't reaaaaaally have to subscribe to it

fun fact: you can "share" your work, and actually open it in illustrator (as pixels or object) and you can still adjust it in illustrator!!! so a big plus point working with creative cloud programs/apps!

If you want to go with a higher budget go with the ipad air but the the ipad 8th gen is still really really good

It's interesting to see adobe add the vector overshoot tool. I personally love using it in Clip Studio, but I didn't realize that it was available in other software. I won't be switching any time soon, but it's nice to see vectors improving across other illustration software.

Adobe fresco is actually free. There’s limitation, though, with the extra brushes you can add. But the default ones are good too
Love the app, hate the subscription rates and services that's behind it. Sorry. Miss the good old days of Adobe.

Switching from Procreate to an app have to pay for over and over again? No, thank you, no matter how good Fresco may get subscription and cloud saves are a no go for me.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of Adobe trying to push artists out of Photoshop and onto Fresco. In almost every respect, Photoshop is a better option. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Go Procreate or Clip Studio not Fresco. Adobe is money hungry and Clip and Procreate aren't
