Got a bullseye for Christmas this year and after using it for the last few weeks I really do enjoy it. Cooks great and I love the versatility of begin able to grill and smoke meat. I was asked by a friend if I would recommend them buying one and I told him yes/no and here is why. Yes because of versatility to grill and smoke pretty much anything and size is great for single family use. No would be because of the controller that comes with it, until Recteq upgrades the controller to what the larger smokers come with, it will continue to be a real challenge to hold the temp you're trying to stay at. Anything over 300 degrees seems to work pretty good but anything in the 200's you'll be all over the place. Also, I think they need to address how the grill handles pellets, anything over a 1/2 inch is too big and will cause issues with maintaining temperature so make sure you break them up like a bag of ice. Overall I'm liking the grill a lot but it's definitely taking some work to get this dialed in and working correctly.
Bought my bullseye, it retired my new gas grill. Added a cast iron grate to it. At 32 deg. outside , it will still reach over 665 degrees in riot mode. For those who prefer a stainless grate upgrade: KillaGrilla Cooking Grate- KG 7435
I love my Bullseye, its a great and very versatile grill but be careful putting the grate up in the lid like that when cleaning because the hinge is weak and that extra weight could break it
I bought this grill and have had nothing but trouble! It has never held a consistent temperature and recently melted down after the fire traveled from the fire pot to the hopper. I have a wicked video! Thank goodness it wasn’t near the house or anything flammable. Also, my step dad’s BFG2500 is about two years old and is out of order. Recteq does not have service techs. They send you parts and attempt to talk you through the repair over the phone. NOTHING BUT A HEADACHE!
Have these been improved? I see lots of you tube reviews with nothing of trouble with controllers, grease fires etc... I own the bull 700 and love it and would love to add this to my patio but the controller issues are a concern.
Someone who's used the Bullseye...please talk to me about grease and whether I need to be concerned about my patio getting grease all over it. Is there a drip pan? Where does the grease go during actual cooks?
Bought mine and love it. Turned around and bought one for my son to do some father-in-law/son-in-law bonding time. Unfortunately, mine is sick right now with a jammed auger, when rain got into the vents. And they are right -- it is like concrete to get loose. I'll get there, this weekend, hopefully. This grill is an awesome daily grill. Quick to get running, and really good on pellet consumption. If you have any ideas on breaking up my concrete, please let me know. Steaks, burgers, chicken, and dogs -- really fun grill. See you @ The Academy in April !! Rip
Great grill it has become my primary grill for day to day cooking. Also my wife loves it and how easy it is to cook on. Since i already have a RT-B380 i think i should get a $100 off a RT-700 ?
Do you guys offer sales commissions? Lol. Bought my Bullseye less than 30 days ago and love it so much one of my sons and a coworker bought one. Love my RecTeq. Long time Big Green Egg users……
I have seen several videos on this grill. It looks like pellet ash from the fire pot is blown all over your food. For you owners out there is this actually the case? I don’t like the idea of ash in my food but would really like to find a replacement for my trust Weber kettle.
Jody is explaining the controller settings for each grill. The RT-700 set temperature works in 5 degree increments while the RT-B380 set temperature works in 25 degree increments.
I have had nothing but problems with my Bullseye. The auger has clogged three times on me. Mind you, it’s out of the elements and has a cover on it. About to throw it to the curb. It’s an absolute nightmare unclogging these things. My RT-700 sits right next to it and I’ve never had an issue with it. Frustrating.
Hi, I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time with the bullseye. Could you give our team call? We are happy to work with you on this and get it resolved. 706-922-0890
I bought the rt700 and the matador around March, If u guys can hook me up with 100 bucks off I’ll buy the bullseye. It would complete my yard. Let me know.
Does it have Wi-Fi? I so want to buy a chinese device (this is made in china right?) and plug it into my wifi network so I (and them and anyone else) can have a point of entry into my home network.
I bought 2 last month one of them I have yet to cook on just put together and seasoned 1hr at 400 per instructions. Want to work out a trade ? With unused sear kit and new cover...
This was a very bad explanation of how this grill works the guy talking was for some reason in a rush ? He needs decafe coffe No explanation on how to smoke or even if you can smoke with it? No pellet dump ? Just a real poor description. It was annoying how fast he was talking Easy peezy lemon squeeze? What the hell does that mean? Sorry guys just not impressed.
Just pray yours comes in undamaged and functional else you have to deal with support and hope that by the time you get your third person they know what the hell they are doing. Seems most of them only know how to use the diagnostic menu and quickly get lost.
I have had 3 Recteq smokers. they are wonderful! and customer service is great... that being said.... This Bullseye is the worse grill I have ever owned. Worked fine for about 3 months then squat. It is horrible, Rusted out completely. constant auger problems, clogging, stalling. Just horrible product. Wish I could post pics. STAY AWAY!!! Piece of garbage..
I love my Bullseye, but if he says "bad boy" or "easy peasy lemon squeezy" one more time ...
Haha i was thinking the same thing

Solid feedback, we appreciate it and are working to updated a few things!
Just curious since pizza ovens use high heat, is using riot mode good for making Neapolitan style pizzas?
Do you have military discount?
If I already purchased a RT-700, can I still get $100 off a bullseye?
I’d like to know this as well

Does this grill double as a smoker?
riot mode is awesome for searing steak, never burned one yet. Timing is everything. Usually 60-90 seconds per side on a reverse sear does the trick.
🙌🙌

Thanks, second time I've heard about service issues and lack of help with the warranty.
Does this work well as a smoker?
It's this good for a low and slow cook?
Absolutely!
When will you offer cast iron grill grates? The sear plates are aluminum abs that’s unhealthy.
will this fit the my weber 22 inch grill grate?
Have these been improved? I see lots of you tube reviews with nothing of trouble with controllers, grease fires etc... I own the bull 700 and love it and would love to add this to my patio but the controller issues are a concern.
After they sent me a replacement controller, I have no issues and really love this grill! Go to weeknight and most night cooker! Replaced my gasser!
Check out "Smokin' Steve" on UA-cam. He also has a 700.
@@ripjones5294 Yes I have seen some of his videos
Someone who's used the Bullseye...please talk to me about grease and whether I need to be concerned about my patio getting grease all over it. Is there a drip pan? Where does the grease go during actual cooks?
Very valid question
No vent on the lid? What’s the reason behind that?
How big a turkey will it fit its hard to judge. Thanks
I have cooked a 20 lbs turkey in it. It fits just right.

Where is the drip pan? Does it have one?
No. It's a "kettle style" so it just has the deflector shield over the fire pot. Any drippings hit it and vaporize.
New drinking game. Every time someone on these videos says "bad boy" you must take a shot. I'm anticipating one video should do it for me.
What about a drip pan?
sux ive owned my RT 700 for 2 years and just bought the 380 didnt get a discount on it
So easy to use. Easy peasy. I like citrus on fish. Lemon squeezy.
Has anyone modified theirs yet by drilling a hole with a drain for the grease instead of it pooling? Seems like a missed piece of the design.

Not an issue that I have noticed, even if a little ash got on the food, ashes are the cleanest thing out there.
The ash is bad if you don’t clean it regularly , I like hitting a vacuum aggregate a few cooks the ash will pile up
I just ordered a Bullseye a few minutes ago. I can't wait to get it set up and start cooking.
Coming for this bad boy soon thanks guys
Can someone direct me to a video about cleaning a auger jam caused by wet pellets?!
I have a rt700 and a b380 and it’s the perfect combo. Just not so much….easy peasy lemon squeezy!
😆
Do a shot every time he says “easy peasy…” 😂
I just bought my Bullseye and can not wait to BBQ on it.
Big fan of the Bullseye
OMG. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy--we get it.
What's the max amp draw of this unit?
350 watts when the ignitor is running and then when the ignitor shuts off after the fire is lit, it is 150 watts.
I love my 🎯 Wish the griddle was in stock
I love my RT-B380 Bullseye 🎯
Why didn't you do a video of cooking on the product itself?
Also I noticed on their site that you can buy the bullseye now for about $100
Be careful about which website you are looking at. There are a few scam site out there.
This is our real website. www.recteq.com
I heard him say 25 deg jumps yet they say the regular grills are 5 deg jumps what’s up ?
Jody is explaining the controller settings for each grill. The RT-700 set temperature works in 5 degree increments while the RT-B380 set temperature works in 25 degree increments.
Love my bullseye 🎯
I bought a RT-700 Bull, A-850 Wyldside and G-450 Matador. I certainly feel like I deserve 100.00 off. Let me know and I’ll buy one.
Man... I got my 700 3 months ago. Been wanting to get the bullseye for quick week day cooks.
I'm thinking about this grill, how do you empty the hopper if leaving it outside
You pick it up, turn it upside down and shake it!
He really likes lemons😊

Can you fit a turkey in it?
Yes!
Now you offer it for $100.00 off I bought my 700 in April. I would have also bought the Bullseye if it was $100.00 off .
Same here I got my 700 in March
Lots of Lemons 🍋
I have the old original bullseye I use it almost daily I love it but I wished it had the PID like the new bullseye
I bought the rt700 and the matador around March, If u guys can hook me up with 100 bucks off I’ll buy the bullseye. It would complete my yard. Let me know.
Go less car salesman and go more knowledgeable, bbq guy.
Does it have Wi-Fi? I so want to buy a chinese device (this is made in china right?) and plug it into my wifi network so I (and them and anyone else) can have a point of entry into my home network.
Can I trade my rt-590 in and get a bullseye :)
I'd love a portable smoker
I bought 2 last month one of them I have yet to cook on just put together and seasoned 1hr at 400 per instructions. Want to work out a trade ? With unused sear kit and new cover...
If you said Easy peasy lemon squeezy one more time I'm turning this off.
Easy Pe..... JK I won't do it. lol Jody does say it a lot. haha
