Remember what you see is best case scenario. Like Vegas and Hawaii It's presented at it's best. I love Alaska. I was raised there, built a family there. Be ready for anything.
Dave Mercado I moved to Vegas from Detroit 7 years ago. it's actually really really nice here. I was thinking of relocating to Anchorage. I'm a single 31 year old male. why not. seems peaceful.
I don't think there is any other city in America that allows you to go to work in the morning, get off in the afternoon, and then travel home in pitch black darkness 7 months out of the year.
Looks beautiful, but how can you stand living so far north in a small town? Don't you get really bored, and how do you stand the cold and snow? Is it true there's 6 months of light and 6 of dark? Don't know if I could handle it. I live in Toronto, and I can't stand the winters here, but, I love nature too, and from what I can see, it's a really beautiful area, would you recommend living there?
fog360 Bushcraft it's ok. It's not the best, but is better than a lot of cities in the United States. The most murders in a year was in 1996, which there were 26.
Who the hell wants to live in Alaska? It's cold.....24 hour daylight in the summer? Wouldn't winters get so depressing? Plus it's isolating because you're in the middle of nowhere. Would get really old after awhile.
Sounds good thanks... Definitely moving there, Alaska here I come!
God Bless America

300,000 people in Anchorage. Plenty of malls, the usual. Won't get bored.
I live right outside of anchorage and I hate it. It's so boring
