Jay's entry to the 2011 LWP Film Competition is an introspective look at his life here in Anchorage and the effect his personal experience and relationships have on his day to day life. An interesting look at the generation gap of the Alaska native subsistence lifestyle versus the urban Alaska native experience.

Remember what you see is best case scenario. Like Vegas and Hawaii It's presented at it's best. I love Alaska. I was raised there, built a family there. Be ready for anything.

Dave Mercado I moved to Vegas from Detroit 7 years ago. it's actually really really nice here. I was thinking of relocating to Anchorage. I'm a single 31 year old male. why not. seems peaceful.

Looks beautiful, but how can you stand living so far north in a small town? Don't you get really bored, and how do you stand the cold and snow? Is it true there's 6 months of light and 6 of dark? Don't know if I could handle it. I live in Toronto, and I can't stand the winters here, but, I love nature too, and from what I can see, it's a really beautiful area, would you recommend living there?

Who the hell wants to live in Alaska? It's cold.....24 hour daylight in the summer? Wouldn't winters get so depressing? Plus it's isolating because you're in the middle of nowhere. Would get really old after awhile.

fog360 Bushcraft it's ok. It's not the best, but is better than a lot of cities in the United States. The most murders in a year was in 1996, which there were 26.
