Pigeons are such gentle creatures. As someone who regularly feeds the birds, I can tell you, as lovely as they are swans and geese can bite and grab, seagulls will chase away other birds, swans and geese could do some damage, whereas pigeons are such gentle creatures. The worst they will do is land all over you and accidentally scratch up your skin with their claws. What’s not to love about pigeons? They’re adorable, gentle, they’re so gentle when they eat out of your hand, they’re intelligent, sweet, loving, will recognise you, they love their mates, they (as well as seagulls) help clean up the streets, they’re a bit of nature in our cities (along with urban foxes, squirrels in parks and urban seagulls), they make lovely cooing noises, they go all fluffy, they save on wasting any crumbs/leftovers on the ground (along with seagulls and possibly foxes), they make nice wing noises and there is nothing cuter than the way a pigeon looks at you when you’ve got food…

I always found it funny how when the brits spread to other parts of the world, they saw similar animals to back home and just kinda, named them the same thing lmao. Like with the New Zealand "wood pigeon", Australian "Magpie", the tiny little finch robins and the larger blackbird robins, tho can't remember which was first with those two :') Very cute birb \o/
