Hello my name is Deb and I am new to your Channel. I have been a DIY crafter for many years all the way back to about the age of 10. I remember getting my first weaving loom were you made the pot holders and such, that we're about 5 to 6 in square. We were so proud of making those pot holders that we decided we were going to sell them. We lived on a military base where a lot of parents would purchase our little crafts especially if they were usable. I used to take the Quilted placemat, and turning them into purses. And selling those. Over the years I have added so many things to my repertoire I guess you could say as far as crafts. People joke and tell me that I am the Martha Stewart of the craft world. I can go in look at something take it home and make something out of it. And most people won't know what items you used to make it. My favorite was a planter that had the bottom that was separate in the planter set inside of it. I took a drill and in the design on the planter were flowers. And in each one of the paddles of the flowers I drilled a hole. Depending on what size of bead you want to use. I used the plastic beads. Schwartzki crystals are too expensive for as many as you would need for this project. Tying a bag of the plastic beads, was way cheaper do you make what I was wanting to make. I used several different size drill bits as well as several different sizes of beads just show off the different flowers that were the design on the planters sides. I hot glued them in place on the holes I had previously drilled. I purchased a light kit and drilled I think it was like a 3 in hole with a hole saw it in the center of what is the bottom of the planter. I ran a chain and the cord through the chain. I took what was originally the plate that sits underneath the planter and I drilled three holes in it in the shape of a triangle pattern. All the way to the side so it can be wired with a heavy gauge wire going up to the planter as it is turned upside down now. when you turn the lights out and only have the lamp on, the colors go all the way around the room like a rainbow. I can't imagine how much more gorgeous it would have been if I had been able to use schwartzki crystals. anyway I just thought I was going to stop in and say hi and ended up right and have a book LOL that tends to happen with me. I generally make a Christmas ornament for each of my children and grandchildren. I started their collection when they were born and made ornaments all the way up until they turned 18. So as each child grew up and moved out of the home they would have 18 ornaments to start on their new tree. This Christmas I had been working on making the old fashioned gas lights that used to be lit in the town squares. but in each one of them is a scene instead of the gas light , I build a Christmas scene inside. They are made out of picture frames with everything taken out except for the glass in the frame and they are glued in place. And you have to check with frames sit inside the other frames standing up. I used a candy bowl for the top of the lantern and painted it black with spray paint. I got the hook up from Dollar Tree on those silver colored napkin rings. also spraying those black. I've made a bottom that you can take off Andre reach-in and turn on a battery pack. it has really tiny dainty fairy lights that will be running throughout the Gaslight. I love it when people appreciate a handmade gift Over a store-bought gift. Usually a handmade gift has a lot more sentimental value attached to it, and to me just more practical. I would much rather somebody make something for me that I can use , rather than something that I wouldn't use very often or probably never use but would be a seasonal decoration. here I go again just chatting up a storm LOL. I am more it's an introvert than anything. lots of people and lots of noises cause anxiety. in the only way that I can get back on track is to start working on some kind of a craft project for next year. take care and God bless and when doing crafts just don't make a mess LOL I don't know how to rhyme but I thought it was cute because for some reason when I make crafts even when I don't get the glitter out I get glitter on me LOL have a blessed new year take care Deb
Hi Deb!👋🏽😃 Thank you so much 😊 Lol! I think we may have chatted before. Do you like farmhouse design more and you like to build things using equipment like a saw? Your designs sounds amazing! 😃 You are very talented!! If you are the same person I think I asked you what are you waiting on to start a channel. I love that you make the ornaments for your kids and grandchildren. That’s awesome that they have 1 from each year. I know that holds so much sentimental value for them. Sounds like we have things in common. I feel like I’m an introvert too but others don’t think I am. 😃 I tend to make the biggest mess when I’m crafting and I change my mind on things multiple times before I finish. Lol ! That makes me spend way too much time on something that could be so simple. 🤦🏽♀️ I hope that you and your family will have a year filled with Blessings, Peace, Health, Love, Protection, Favor and Prosperity! 😃❤️
@@HomeTimeDesigns that's so sweet thank you yes we must have talked before I do love to build things I have a creative mind and I bet it seems the older I get the harder it is spell the things I want to build. I think I would meet need much bigger equipment , for my needs. LOL thank you for responding that's sweet of you take care and God bless Deb
Thank you so much 😊! I didn’t know what I was going to do with it when I bought it and if I couldn’t think of something I could always use it in the tub 🛀🏽. 😜
Awww! Thank you so much 😊! I said the same thing when I bought them, but I had know idea what I was going to do with them. If I couldn’t think of something then I could always use them in the tub 🛀🏽 😃
Hi, Love this lamp. I need a small to medium bedside lamp. Could you list everything you bought at dollar tree please? I have the glues, scissors, etc. It was kind of confusing to know exactly what you used watching through the video. You are so creative and talented. I need your inspiration. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much 😊. I just read a comment from another viewer that created this and she used a stapler to add the bath mat. That sounds so much easier because I struggled with using the glue. 😃
Thank you so much 😊! Check out my channel there are several lamps to choose from. This one requires the most patience to do because the bath mats are difficult to glue down, but it can work; also I used hot glue on the glass pieces and the pill containers for the purposes of moving forward with the video however I recommend that you do this in stages using a strong glue of choice without the hot glue. If you must use it then use it sparingly. I suggest that because I know that it will hold better if it were done in stages without hot glue when you are working with glass. Let me know if you have any questions. 😃
Hey! I absolutely love this DIY, very creative & I wanna try this! I wanted to know though how you secured the frame to the bowl, if you don't mind? Thanks so much for this! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😊. I sorry for the delay. The frame is not glued because you will is need access the the light unless you use string lighting of some sort. If so just glue the bowl to the glass in the frame. Another option for connecting the bath mat is to use a staple gun to staple the mat to the frame. If you have any questions let me know. bmichellepar@gmail.com
Wow so pretty as always. You are so creative. Love everything you diy. I want to make one of these. You were saying you can never find those napkin rings at dollar tree. I can't either here in California. Those pill containers are a great idea. I going to use those as well. I'm also going to order some napkin rings from Walmart or amazon or both. Thanks for sharing.
Awww! Thank you so much 😊! The napkin rings would be prettier because the light will pass through the whole lamp. When you create your lamp make sure that you use a strong glue like the E6000, Fix All or some other strong glue and allow it to fully dry before moving it ; also it’s better to do it in parts to allow time for the glue to dry.
Awww! Thank you so much 😊! When you make it, make it in stages to allow the glue to cure. You could use fix all glue, E6000 or some other type of strong glue. I only use the hot glue in addition to the strong glue for the purpose of moving forward with making the video, but it holds better without the hot glue if you do it in stages with the stronger glue only; also use something to add weight while the glue is curing. If you do use the hot glue in addition to the strong glue just try not to handle it until the glue has cured completely. I hope this makes sense. 😃
Hi B!!!! So happy to see you!!!!!! I can definitely see why you cut off the ends!!! Yes!! I can hear your voice having issues I’m sore about that!!! I didn’t know gorilla had hot sticks lolol!!! It seems like the dollar tree would have napkin rings!!! Lolol!!! B you would of never known that you used a bowl!!! I soo so loved the final look!!! Girl!!! I just love love it!!! It really does look soo elegant!!!!! I looove it!!!! Xoxo Pam 💝💝💝💝
Hi Pam, thank you so much 😊! Some people don’t have a problem finding the napkin rings but where I live they are hard to come by. It would be better with them because the light could pass through the whole lamp. I don’t know what was wrong with my voice but I was struggling to talk. Thank you so for watching! Xoxo B Michelle 💝💝💝💝
Very cute! I wonder how using some translucent, stained glass type paint on the larger round sections (inside) would turn out. I think I will find out! lol, thank you for making this video! I'm a new subscriber and find your creations to be genius!
Aww! Thank you so much 😊 That sounds pretty! Let me know if how it turns out. I must tell you ....although I love the look of this diy, it was my least favorite to do. Those bath mats were not easy or fun to work with. It definitely can be done though. 😁 I was so frustrated trying to get them to stick with the glue. 😩😡🤯 Another thing.... when you glue the glass pieces do them in steps to make sure that the glue cures before building the whole piece. Let me know if you have any questions. 😃
Thank you so much 😊. Great idea! I was so frustrated. I didn’t even think about using the stapler. Thanks for sharing that info. 😃😃 I plan to do a video with pictures from viewers/ subscribers that have recreated things from my channel. if you want to send pictures to be included email me at bmichellepar@gmail.com.
Home Time Designs now I didnt mean a paper stapler. Mine works in plastic and wood ...thick stuff. I used it to staple chicken wire into DT picture frames on a farmhouse decor project. If your email is on the description box i will send you a picture and info about stapler.
Ok awesome! I was thinking of a staple gun. Lol! I have one that I used to reupholster a chair, but a better one would be nice. It’s hard to get the staples all the way through the wood. bmichellepar@gmail.com
Thank you so much 😊 I’m not sure what sheet you are referring to, but a part of the lampshade is a bath mat. 😃 I hope that’s what you are inquiring about.
Thank you so much 😊! The light is 2 of the led lights from the Dollar Tree. They have a sticky pad on the back. I attached both lights together using the sticky pads on the back then I just placed them inside the bowl on top. The light glows both up and down. No glue used on that part nor on the lampshade. It just rest on top of the bowl.
Jackie Masek, I hope you lamp came our great. After struggling with the bath mat using the glue..... I just read a comment from another viewer who also created this lamp and she used a stapler to attach the bath mat. Wow! I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. That sounds so much easier. 😃 I plan to do a video with pictures from others who have created things from my channel. If you’d like to be included send pictures to my email bmichellepar@gmail.com.
I love this lamp, I went to my DT and picked up a couple bath mat to make one. I don’t mean to be critical, but could you turn the music down a bit. Thank u for sharing
Thank you so much 😊. I’m ok with constructive criticism 😃 I need to know these things from the viewers standpoint, so you’re fine. I do turn the music down so that it doesn’t overpower my voice when I’m talking however I’m noticing that sound comes through differently on different devices. I’ll make sure to have it as low as possible. When I do videos without music I have viewers tell me to add the music so it’s a thing of finding the right volume. That lamp could be aggravating to make....make sure to turn on your patience. 😜 I do recommend the napkin rings if you could find them and using a strong glue without the hot glue if possible when adhering the glass pieces and the napkin rings together; also do it in stages to allow the glue to dry completely before joining all of the glass pieces together. Let me know if you have any questions. 😃
Thank you so much 😊! I didn’t know either when I bought them, but I knew that if I couldn’t think of something then I could always use it in the tub 🛀🏽 😃
I’m sorry I don’t have it. Those are usually in the area with the dishes. They come 4 to a pack. Next time I stop at Dollar Tree I’ll try to get the sku.
Wonderful idea it looks like a crystal lamp 💘 it
This lamp turned out very pretty

Home Time Designs the napkin rings are back I bought 6 last week in No. CA Someone said they are seasonal item.
Again,You are amazing. I'm making this.🎇🎇🎇🎇
Awww! Thank you so much 😊! When you make it, make it in stages to allow the glue to cure. You could use fix all glue, E6000 or some other type of strong glue. I find napkin rings holder in Dollar tree in party section or sometimes they have them in the middle
At that time it was hard for me to find them. I’ve found some at one location here in Alabama. You know I had to buy all of them. 😃
Hi B!!!! So happy to see you!!!!!! I can definitely see why you cut off the ends!!! Yes!! I can hear your voice having issues I’m sore about that!!! I didn’t know gorilla had hot sticks lolol!!! Thank you so much 😊
Hello
If the LED light is secure, how are you able to turn them off and on?
This is so beautiful!! I love it!
Thank you so much 😊
Very cute! I wonder how using some translucent, stained glass type paint on the larger round sections (inside) would turn out. I think I will find out! lol, thank you for making this video! I'm a new subscriber and find your creations to be genius!

After watching you struggle with that glue...i decided to staple mine. I love this lamp
Thank you so much 😊. Great idea! I was so frustrated. I didn’t even think about using the stapler.
Home Time Designs oh shoot i forgot to send the picture. I'll try to remember today its so hot here I cant think.
Love the idea.. just want to know what that sheet is..the one u r cutting it?
Thank you so much 😊 I’m not sure what sheet you are referring to, but a part of the lampshade is a bath mat. 😃 I hope that’s what you are inquiring about.
Where did you say you got the little lights from?
Dollar Tree
Hi, Michelle !!! How are you doing? Thanks for sharing your beautiful creation. I love it. See you next Wednesday my, friend.
Hi Jenita! Thank you so much 😊
Fabulous and creative! I was hoping to see how you put the light in, though.
Thank you so much 😊! The light is 2 of the led lights from the Dollar Tree. They have a sticky pad on the back. I’m sorry I’m so late with responding. If you haven’t already done it if you have any questions, let me know.
I actually plan on making a lamp today! The design is a little different, though. But your videos have given me courage to be creative. Thank you.

Can you please tell me the height of the lamp? Thanks
