That is absolutely gorgeous and my next project! I happen to know, however, that the batteries in both of those lights don't last long so to make frequent battery changes easier, I might put hinges on one side of the 'top' frame and a small latch hook on the other for the ease of opening the light box when it's time to change. Also, the velcro strips on the bottoms of the fairy light battery boxes will make it easier to pull them in and out for changing the batteries also, instead of gluing them down.
This turned out great! Thank you. I did modify though. Instead of using glue on the front. I found some very small hedges and little hooks so could open and close the front to change the batteries.
I am starting this project today...If all goes well a number of family members will be getting these for Christmas. HEHE...My mom use say I was so cheap because I wiould do great crochet pieces for the family. We loved to laugh about it. I think this project will be such a value added to their homes. They will love it. I subscribed...
Thank you so much 😊 Lol! There’s nothing wrong with being frugal and using you talent at the same time. Your gifts came from the heart and that’s all that matters. I’m sure your will be great. They will make great gifts. 😃❤️
This is lovely!❤️ I'm going to try this. I think I am going to add a piece of vellum paper or the dollar tree chopping mat, behind the gold mat, so that it diffuses the lights and hides the battery pack.
I am going to make these for sure. I will however, change certain areas, to get it to work in my space. I want to thank you for sharing this. Your video has given me the idea to do my sconces. Great crafting FAM. Peace
Thanks for the inspiration. I made two wall sconces that came out beautiful using the silver placemat and a mail sorter. Can’t wait to put them up in my spa suite.
WOW!! I really, REALLY like this!! This is an absolute MUST DO for me!! Simple, easy and cheap with a high-end looking outcome. Very beautiful!! Tyfs!! Keep these DIY'S coming!
I discovered your video 6 months ago and kept it in a safe place so now that I’m ready to redecorate my living these are the exact scones I want to try! 🤗 Thank you!
You are AMAZING...Such a creative mind...going to be learning so much..and having so much fun..while isolating for 12wks on my own..with caronavirus..so bless your heart x
Thank you so much 😊 I pray for health and wholeness for you. 🙏🏽 There are lots of videos out there to keep us occupied. I just wish that people would take things seriously and stay home unless it’s necessary to be out to stop the spread of the virus. 💕
Hi, this turned out very pretty. I love the gold placemats effect that doesn't look like a placemats. Even pretty w/o lights but look great with them. TFS 💗
Hind sight .... 🤔maybe try gluing the place mat to the frame and then cutting. Also maybe try command strips for the battery pack rather than glue. Awesome concept, nice work!👍🏽 Thanks for the video😊
Thank you so much 😊 Thanks for the tips! The back frame has tabs to remove the black board to change the batteries, but the velcro is a great idea. Thanks! 😃❤️
Love it its beautiful, i have da same gold Matt an didn't kno wat to do with it until now dat i saw wat a beautiful sconce u made, so now I'm making me one thanks to u God bless u thanks for sharing 🤗🙏💖💕
I love this. I think I'll try something like that. But I'm gonna use the cheap Christmas lights. I do have battery light with remote but I hate wasting batteries. Lol
I love this so much! I also have everything! I wasn’t sure what to do with all the supplies, this is so beyond! Thank you so much... It’s absolutely beautiful!!
You can find those gold placemats on Temu @ 6 for $9 something… no shipping fee if your order is $10. It takes about 15 days to get an order…much better than Wish, who may or may not deliver (they do refund, after 2-3 months of waiting on the order). Ironic that I’m expecting my order next week! Beautiful idea!
This is pretty interesting,i have to say. I have those stick on DTree LED lights, and can say they are really bright for what they are (single led) This would make a cool night light for a bathroom or hallway or stairs. Using a DTree solar yard LED could be wired out a window for automatic solar charging if this example was used in the right area of the home.
It's an interesting idea. BUT ..how do you turn the light on? do you have to reach up underneath, in between to tap the light? OR do you tap on the gold matting? or ?
@@bevalee1533 I plan to make this to put on the wall in the corner of my sectional couch where there is no table access or light. Because that is a hard and awkward area to reach up to try reaching in the box and for battery changes, I'm going to use tiny hinges on one side instead of gluing it so I can just open the box to access the lights.

I love the way this looks but do agree with you about the LED lights with the remote.
Awesome really clever, I love you creative people, thanks for helping out, a wannabe decorator on a tight budget, get a high class look!

You've given me an idea for my hall light. Yet another great video
Thank you so much 😊
@@HomeTimeDesigns Thank you
I would use command velcro strips to attach battery pack for fairy lights. That way you can change batteries easily.
I was thinking the same thing command strips with velcro
Sweet idea! Thank you for sharing this idea!

Beautiful I’m going to the dollar tree one day soon
Thank you so much 😊
I wonder if you would get even more reflection if you used a mirror or foil on the background.
I thought about using a mirror. I’m not sure how it would work though.
I was thinking same thing..
Genius! Love it! Been looking for something like this 💜
love this

Absolutely gorgeous.. .. just wondering how do u change the batteries?
Thank you so much 😊. The back frame has tabs to remove the black board the the battery packs are glued to. Remove the board to access the batteries. 😃
I have that place mat! 😁
Awesome! I need to find more of those. 😃
It's an interesting idea. BUT ..how do you turn the light on? do you have to reach up underneath, in between to tap the light? OR do you tap on the gold matting? or ?
Thank you! Yes, reach into turn on/off. Your could also use lights with a remote.
@@HomeTimeDesigns - you are FULL of clever ideas. I never thought about a remote control! I'm so glad that I happened upon your channel. :)
