Great guy and great player and the guitar tone IS great. The reverb is stereo but I don't hear any stereo guitar imaging, it's sounds center channel mono to my ears. Or it's very very subtle...IDK
That doesn't make it stereo. Stereo has to do with delay and separation. If you're talking organic stereo field it is the discernable waves one ear hears compared to the other ear. You're describing what you could consider to be multi-channel parallel processing. Which sounds great yes but isn't stereo. In microphone placement, you need to have a center point and spread the microphone placement, or cross them in cardioid, or have one in cardioid and the other in bidirectional while setting mid/side processing in post. The other way is to generate delay to electronically spread the signal to a dual panned stereo signal. I'm only beginning looking into this (for no reason really) so my understanding could change but in my initial research (this is my first video) I don't think this qualifies as stereo even though it does sound good.

The two sources, sound hole and bridge PU, share a common ground, so the signals leave the endpin jack in a TRS connector: eg. Tip: Soundhole PU; Ring: Bridge PU; Sleeve: Ground shared by both. You are free to process the two sources thereafter as you wish. He is a nice player, but not sold on the ton rendered here, personally.
Thanks man, so I guess the stereo signal is maintained for him to be able to split them to two preamps like that? Yeah I guess it doesn't sound incredible heard directly like this, I can imagine the full stereo effect live is a completely different story though, his acoustic tone on his albums is certainly very nice.
The two sources, pickup and mic, can be processed through two entirely signal paths - meaning different preamp, eq, compression, Fx, and panned center or wide.
His tone cleared my sinusis.
Holy smokes, it's a miracle!
This guy is my new favorite person.
Love this guys enthusiasm and playing of course
same here and I dont even play guitar. amazing
Having listened to Ryley's music before I didn't expect him to exude this goofy aura. What a rad dude.

Thank you
I wanna know more about those right hand acrylic finger nails,, I did this in college and could not keep it up. Great acoustic playing and sound.
nice tunes
Much love to the inimitable being of infinite love and dialed in tone from a VoV alum n Hunted Creature
All the best man- shit is rad
Fair play great video
Whata tone... What strings, type and gauge do you use on the D-140? What year is that D-140? Is saddle and nut original bone?
So these pickups are wired to one output Jack on the guitar?
Great guy and great player and the guitar tone IS great. The reverb is stereo but I don't hear any stereo guitar imaging, it's sounds center channel mono to my ears. Or it's very very subtle...IDK
Yeah it's not stereo. It's parallel processing after a split channel.
How is it wired internally?can the under saddle connect to the sound hole?
very nice... what strings and gauge were you using on the D-140?
Damn does anyone know what he's playing near the end of the video? This dude is sick !
Put ryley doing reviews and stuff 😂😂 so entretaining 👌🏻
Dude I fucking love this guy!!!!
Is he using any phase switching to keep those pickups synced? Or is that not necessary?
this guy is rad
would love for you to elaborate on how you went about splitting your signal. im confused on how you went about making It stereo
Because it isn't stereo. It's split channel parallel processing
@@ET2carbon please elaborate as I’m still in the learning process. Thanksn
Does the sunrise magnetic pickup do anything without the other internal pickup?
Wish you would have widened the spectrum a bit. I heard the stereo sound, just wish you would have spread it out some more.
wow!
Could this work with active pickups and just eqs on the board? Those tonebones are pricey...
Fun thanks.
what the tuning sir? its really amazing.
kurnia sandi The tuning is open D
Does the K&K need to have batteries? If so how do you Handed the batteries? Do you have to take the whole thing out?
Brooke Clover the K&K Pure Mini is a passive pickup. No batteries are required.
Brooke Clover qqqqqqqqqqqq
Its a pasive system, so no battery is requires
what amps are he using
Tooooooooone
what 2 amps he going into...

Geesh! Each add-on is like $200-300. At minimum a $1500 board setup alone. Must sound great though. Gotta be a better way?

not a bad guitar for under 700 bucks. guild rules, especially in the hands of someone of ryley's caliber.
anyone know how he manages to get both pickups to go to one output?
