100% Unreal Engine
It's literally the return of old school filmmaking techniques, except without front and rear projection, which was always pretty difficult to get just right. This will benefit not only filmmakers but also actors, it will keep them immersed in the moment in ways that are difficult in green screen environments.
Thanks for including us in the showcase UE team. Can't wait to show what else we've been working on when it's out of NDA.
That train entering the station was sick.
honestly, I cannot decide, what is more impressive -- outdoor scenes or indoor scenes. both stunning :/
thank you The Mandalorian
The future is going to be realtime.
That no normal people can afford
@@eyewishwalrus Short term Yes. RX3090 being less compute and more real-time suggests NVIDIA catering to the VP market. AMD, and soon Intel will be joining in the fray, I would presume. VP still in it's infancy and more companies will invest in this technology which will lower prices in time.
VP can be had with largely commodity products already from PC, VR, Laser Projectors. I'm willing to bet even cheaper DIY VP is just around the corner. Heck youtubers been using a form of this last year ua-cam.com/video/cjawch65u9k/v-deo.html
@@VRforAll I think he was talking more about the virtual set
@@mihirpatil8843 VP as in Virtual Production which includes Virtual Sets. Realtime background projected or emissive screen that is motion controlled to Camera position/view. Same tracking technology used for VR. Already being used by youtubers and other streamers for at least a year.
@@VRforAll the rendering tech is probably very close but having the camera setup isn't
Wow thats going in awsome way
Amazing, where can I learn more about the projection/camera tracking techniques used and how to intergrate that into UE4?
Hope HTC and Valve know that their VR stuff is being used for this budding field and capitalize on the demand. Maybe Virtual Production could be the edge they need to compete against Facebook. Would have been nice to see Epic Games support VR developers more via the Epic Store as well. Facebook didn't come to play.
This is amazing!!
Cool, real inspiring.
At certain places it's just easily identifiable as a flat display in Bg. Effective usage comes in accurate lighting and few set elements in prespective mixed with the virtual set!! 02:44 is an best example!!
You will get this impression if you film the set with a camera that is not part of the motion-tracking real time frustrum rendering.
@@foghather maybe not sure how those actual shots were taken!!
Still better miles than green screen more immersive for the actors worker
WOW, Hello to the future ;)
This is sick 😵
Train scene was awesome
Es increíble lo que se puede hacer con esta tecnología
Amazing work. Cool engine! Guys - you are great!
Great!
Whoa! Unreal where the world is the stage.
Soo cool.
I want to open a studio with all this need a shopping list.
Last week I've asked the french production to hire me as an environment artist, they said to me that they're "running low on budget" and they proposed me to work for free lmao but congrats to them for being in the official unreal channel despite this lack of money :))))
It is not unheard of to start in film production like that, unfortunately. You do good work and meet the right people, you wouldn't be volunteering for long. Still sucks though.
nothing wrong with internships. yeah you don't get paid, but you need to start somewhere. ofc if you already have experience, working for free would be an insult lol
@@Krokussify it was not internship, and if so, it's not legaly free here lol
Future is right infront if u.
Unreal
Wow
that's the reason they have got the name Unreal Engine
I have a question... Are the background footages shot by a 360 VR camera?
The democratizing of actors in scenes one step closer
pathan wil make virtual production ♥♥♥
Finally, a new way to price independents out of the marketplace.
How does far cheaper "price independents out of the marketplace" ... ?
Any one here after Lokesh interview???
Gonna contact the bright studios asap 👍😁
🤗
Soooo... you mean Obi Wan didn’t have the high ground? 😦😳
Just blur it nobody will notice (says every vfx sup on an unreal virtual set).
heloo....what diffrent greenscreen with led?...
Somebody, who was around these boxes 2:14 for a while has some story to say with some future 8k screen everybody will have after ten years in 2033, but before Invictus. This begins with - but mom I could so much great things if I could replace Nintendo to a Desktop PC if I would recognize Lost City of the Tol'vir and the clouds near by. Late night show hosts like this technology as an episode opening. This place is quite slow in the new Babbage if you try to visit invictus expo 4:38.
I feel like I’m loosing money and time going to film school
No, you wont, only the way to archive things will be different in the future. Stories and everything behind taht (camera work, how things feel etc) will be the same. Only the possibilities will be endless (or at least only bound to the hardware you own)
@@LifestylerAUT But you really don't learn those things in film school. Most people I know who went to film school say they either were taught production basics or more technical knowledge, which can all be learned online or by applying to actually work on sets. The only way to get good at storytelling is learning from stories and practice telling them, and you don't need a school environment to do that at all.
@@LordJagd well if you See it that way, one probably could say, you do not need any school at all, because you can get any knowledge online and/or in books 😉
@@LifestylerAUT It's pretty true, especially for film. All of the Hollywood greats from the 70's didn't have any film school, including everyone inventing VFX techniques.
@@LordJagd Might be, yes, but not when it comes to the comment, which gave the staeting point for all this.
But yes, looking, working, asking, copying and redoing can bring you quite far on your journey called "life"🙂
So I shouldn't get a mbp? If not what laptop would you recommend for unreal game development?
You probably already have one, by now... but for the next person reading this reply: You need a system that can support DirectX 12 Ultimate, preferably with a Ray Tracing GPU, which probably means an NVidia RTX series graphics card, and at least 16gb of ram.
Wondering I hear this music song some where :\
This needs to be Joe Rogan’s new studio.
How does one begin the technical process of adopting this workflow?
Buy a bunch of OLED screens propped up on stands, and a monster of a PC with RTX 3090s. Maybe a Red camera. Then watch all sorts of UE videos here or search for info on where to download the codes/Blueprints to do the camera work in conjunction with the real footage, and you're set...
theoretically.
@@thronosstudios key word is Buy
every country has their Studio, and I just drooling to have a Studio , but they pay me 10 per hour.
Most of us will have to stick to compositing, virtual production is pretty hard when you can afford expensive led screens
Anyone know this song?
When was Virtual Production really founded? Need to do research for School and i honestly nowhere can found a real Answer yet cause i think it's to "new" ? So my guessing was around 2016/17 but the first real work was the Mandalorian set in 2019? Is that Correct? regards
Hard to credit one company that invented Virtual Production, but Industrial Light and Magic was one of the first few companies using Virtual Production back in the 90s.
I m from india.. Hyderabad
Planning to do tropical forest survival background pro movie please help me to contact you people I need your association
Its unreal but in real world hhh

Hi
hi
picture this bt it's lo-fi an that's my channel
Make friday the 13th the game on mobile
Is that a green screen?? What is that
Ахуитительно!
I hope people don't use this so extensively to simulate everything and microbudget real sets and locations into obsolescence or into rare usage from hand picked studio auteurs. Good luck if you don't have high quality, original assets?
The LED screens on display here are a couple million quids worth so don't expect low budget films to have access to this kinda tech
Not budget friendly so it's useless to those who make short films.
The music really got annoying a minute. I get that your audience, your target audience for games are “MTV 14y to 24y old males” and music is a reminder to their insecure masculine selves that they are “guys”; but, some of us don’t need music to remind us that we’re bad-asses, we just are.
I'd say you're over-reacting if what you said wasn't so true. So many guys only buy into that "you're a badass" aesthetic and find anything divergent almost offensive, probably because of the insecurity you described.
