The depth of the trx is impressive. I've been using the xp mi4 for almost a year and I've had no problem detecting coins up to 3 inches deep in my soil. It definitely won't go much more than 3" on a coin size target but I really don't need it to - that's not what I use my pin-pointer for. The mi4 performs very similar to my old Garrett carrot and I'm happy with it.
I use TRX since it came out. It's been always with me. I really hope it doesn't break as it is INCOMPARABLE to any other pinpointer out there. And the sad thing is that White's doesn't exist anymore and you can't even find a second hand TRX on ebay :(
TRX is deep and button is easy to push but is not very durable. If your TRX breaks, call Centreville Electronics in Lebanon Oregon. I have had him repair a few Whites products over the years.
Enjoy your videos and watching them makes me glad I bought the Simplex. If you could no longer use the trx and had to choose another pinpointer to replace it, which one one you pick? I like the depth of the trx and that it pinpoints off the tip. I have the first Propointer and want to upgrade. I don't like the way it will "max out" on pulse/vibration and still be more than an inch away from the target. What pinpointer do you feel is closest to the trx and what do you like/dislike about the Nokta pointer? Thanks in advance for any input.
I never had a Garrett go bad...I really do not use the garret much because they just false on my soil. Mi3 I got almost 3 years of use off the battery and can replace the battery for about 30 bucks. I would have spent hundreds of dollars on 9 volt batteries for the garrett.
I personally hardley ever drop to my knees and pinpoint with the handheld. I would rather stay standing and dig small plug with shovel if shallow target. I mostly use pinpointer after plug is made to locate target or dig a little deeper. Then I will use my handheld digger dig deeper and pinpoint with handheld pinpointer. The Garrett gives the info I need actually faster than the TRX. I also think the Carrott has the best ratcheting.. Just my opinion... Detecting is fun for me.. I dont bust my butt in some kind of race for more targets.. I dont think that way in hunting.. To each his own...
I detect for gold I use the trx I agree the trx is far more superior than other pinpointers. My trx no longer works and being whites sold out to garrett I can't find another trx.
MI4 and MI6 same performance. MI6 just has wireless Deus pairing to headphones. I will be testing the Garrett carrot to the TRX next. Nothing can compare to the TRX's depth and pinpoint precision man!!!
@@PaystreakSuperfreak I think the my Teknetiks Tek-point or Fisher F-pulse(same thing) can compare because it's pulse induction and ground minerals do not matter, don't affect it. I'd love to see a comparison

The mi-4 is €129 here and the trx is €173 so what do you except? The mi4 even gets more accessoires here and it has more features

Very informative. Thank you very much!
Jeremy do you use right out of the box or do you program the trx with certain settings?
I run all my pinpointers at full gain.
I have used a MI 6 for 4 years and it's far and away deeper than my TRX when used side by side. The MI 4 must be different.

Yeah! I just saw another video that says the default sensitivity setting when you turn the mi4 on, is level 2 (medium).
i think u better buy few of the mi6 and test them and give me one for my birthday lol
I would of liked to see comparison with Carrot
I did post a video last year TRX vs Carrot

Do a search for Cemtreville Electronics out of either Virginia, or Oregon. They may fix your TRX.
mi6 vs the trx next they both about the same price

All that money for the Xp MI4 . Not much to write home about. But as you say, it's a trade of with the TRX's occasional inconsistencies.
the mi4 pin pointer is 119 the trx is 159 ?
@@adventureislife7793 WoW man! The TRX is only £120 in U.K The Mi4 is £110! Both prices are before postage!
