Have you done any thrifting while in Mexico? That’s always one of my favorite things to do when traveling. Would love to see a vid with a thrift haul:)

As a Jamaican born, now American, I am familiar with fruits and vegetables being available in seasons. And so the best place to purchase the best local veggies in season would be a local market vs a supermarket. Quite like a Farmer’s market in the US. There you may find fresh locally sourced food direct from farmers. It might have open you to items that are only grown in Mexico. There are definitely things that I look forward to when I visit Jamaica like breadfruit. Roasted, then fried... delicious! Loving the Street food vibe! Thanks for sharing

That flat round brown root I believe is jicama. Wonderful with fresh lime and tajin sprinkled.

I love how you're not perfectionistic about food, and you eat very well. At one point in my life i was trying to be organic, waste free, strictly plant foods....when I force myself to stick to a strict plan in my mind it kinda messes up my ability to be adaptive, in various ways.
Your attitude around eating for me allows for a big exhale.
    Be well fellow humans!

You can use veggie scraps to make a nice vegetable broth to sip on or cook with. And the fiber from celery offers an excellent source of fiber.

As a Dominican my mother buys yucca, she strips the brown skin off, cuts the white yucca into chunks. She would boil them until semi soft, drain them and serve them with sautéed red onions and LOTS of virgin olive oil drizzled ALL over with sum salt. It was a great side dish or great as a snack on its own.

The thing you didn't know what it was, looks like jicama. Kind of crispy, good like broccoli to dunk in hummus, kinda sweet, sometimes tastes like dirt lol.

jicama and mango are really good in yucatan, theres an organic produce shop in veleta with fresh made peanut butter. You can bring your recycling to tulum circular and dump food waste into the jungle or bring your bucket of compost to foodie market in aldea zama or centro

Don't feel bad--I love watermelon too and couldn't get an edible one all summer here in NE USA. What the heck!! Stringbeans are tasteless, tomatoes also tasteless for a long time now unless I can get organic heirlooms in the summer. Sweet potatoes stringy at times. I won't go on. Our food has changed and we wonder why some kids don't like fruits and veggies. thanks for the foodie tips xo

Hi folks haven't really tuned in for a while but today I have and it's left me feeling cold and hungry...but really good to see you and Azalea bud enjoying life and sharing some sunshine and inspirational foody tips.By the way I prefer my yogurt lumpy as I buy coconuet yogurt which is quite runny so needs a bit of added fruit or nuts or both just to give it a bit of substance.
Respect ✋ from a cold Feb morning in Cornwall...🤗☕💜

Liquid yogurt I call Kiefer, maybe different cultures. Love both plain and make our own. Kruger is easiest cause once milk is heated and cooled enough to add culture it ferments on a warm counter in its glass bottle with loose lid… About 12+ hrs till thick as I want. Then in frig.

Not sure if your juice is fresh home made or store bought - if it's store bought you shouldn't put anything medicinal etc in it like probiotics, or tinctures etc - because all store bought juice has antibacterials, fungacides etc in it to stop the growth of nasties = and it also kills the good things you add.
I used to work on a citrus farm... Which is why I never gave my kids store bough juice - all the shit, half eaten, starting to rot crap that would never sell is sent to the juicers, it's boiled down and then watered down - then because there's nothing left alive in it nutritionally they add cheap synthetic "vitamins" and sugar to make it sweet.

As a Hispanic Mexican individual, it saddens me to continuously hear the Spanish language being mispronounced and misused. If it’s a simple mistake or it is a difficult word to say, it can be overlooked. However, if a person is being exposed to the language daily or often, then that person should be more respectful to it. If you are living in a Spanish-speaking country, then proper language use should be exercised.
