The bike is actually built by Gaokin, a well respected engine and powertrain builder who work with and for some very big name companies across the world, it is a good looking bike and should be very reliable
@@PeakMotorcycles ... I had that with my first Doberman girl years ago .... Never did calm down, acted like a 8 month old nut job until she passed aged 12yr old! 🙂
It's in the other video I need to edit. I think it's a good motorcycle, well made, nicely finished and rides well enough, but it has a very quiet exhaust. Not a problem of itself, but I did feel a lack of emotional reaction as a result. Cruisers are big and heavy things. Quite impractical really, so they need to make up with it in the overall experience, and without that soundtrack, it felt lacking, even if the rest of the bike was good.
Legacy moto makers abused their market positions by demanding exorbitant prices eventhough they have ecnomies of scale and an already lean and efficient supply chain. As a customer I welcome those chinese machines with open arms. Beautiful design, fantastic prices. Reliability we will hear about soon. My next motorcycle will be chinese.
Things like this are a great shake up to the market. For a while, the new offerings were reworkings of old engines but once the quality is there and also decent design, then I think the established manufacturers will have to take note or die. That happened to most of the UK bike industry in the 1970’s once the big Japanese makers learned how to make good looking, reliable, fast and economically priced bikes. This time it’s India and China.
I've spent a lifetime in motorcycles since age 5; riding, racing, owning a major marque dealership, a rider training school and used to have anywhere between 20 - 30 bikes in my personal garage at any one time. New sports, new super moto, new Enduro, new moto X, various classics like KH750, Z900. Unfortunately I got really ill in 2009 and still am, so had to stop riding …. The last new bike I bought for myself was a Suzuki SV 1000, in black, on impulse because it was cheap at £5k ... Nice bike. Am I out of touch? Oh hell yes and nothing, NOTHING brings that home faster than when you said ... *_"... and here's the USB port..."_* SMH 😂🤣😂
Sorry to hear about your illness. I hope you're doing ok. (Not to make things worse, but there's even bikes that now have 'new' USB-C ports instead of the 'old' USB-A 🤣. I guess maps don't get used much any more. All the best.
@@PeakMotorcycles ... Thank you. Frankly my friend you have to learn to appreciate your life, no matter what you can no longer do ... and I do. My Dr wife is amazing, our little JRT is wonderful and we live in a place just as beautiful as the Peaks. When I was riding/racing, I was close friends with some KTM dealers in the UK and Germany … I owned many a KTM. Today I would buy a 1290R Super Duke in the blink of an eye … I'd also try some of these Chinese Adventure and 'Retro' bikes. During a KTM factory tour we asked the accountant guy "Why are your bikes _so dam expensive!"_ The answer is pretty simple … wages. Around c.70% of any manufactured goods is the wages. Metal, alloy etc. all much the same price. But not labour. So I 'd buy a Chinese bike today, no problem. In about 2000 I was selling Chinese direct replicas of the Honda TL 125 cc from my dealership. A useable but clapped out, rusty 1970's TL would cost around £1,000 private sale. Meanwhile I sold these new replicas for £1100, with a 6 month warranty. Sold over 30 of them, only 1 came back with a broken engine … I contacted the main importer and had a new engine FOC, by courier next day. Personally I'd be more concerned by Ducati reliability than that of a Zontes 310T2. Wishing all good fortune to yourself, your family, your beautiful dogs and your channel.

More chinese bikes are emerging in different market segments which really do cover all bases at fantastic price points. Asssuming the manufacturing quality is decent, the only reason for *NOT* buying a chinese bike is political.
True that! Politics of your home country; politics of the producing nation; and of course the politics of the manufacturer. All these can factor into a purchasing decision. And in a free society, ultimately the consumer gets to choose which politics either suits him best or offends him the least when deciding how to spend his hard earned money.

Thanks for that! It seems very well put together.
@@PeakMotorcycles … Built in China … Remember when people used to say with the same disdain 'Made in Japan' … Probably not.
Gorgeous pup..... You better introduce him in your next video. 😁
He's one of two. And though still behave like pups, he's 9 and the other is 10. I look forward to when they calm down a bit. No sign of that so far!

With this bike & your shades, André, that's baaaad! Who's the gorgeous pupper? We need to know!
That’s Rocco, or dog 1. 9 year old black lab retriever. Dog 2 was hiding, another rescue, that would be Lucy, but you’ll never see her.
