This brings back memories of places id almost forgotten, i live in Manchester uk but spent a few years in Markham, i saw the pizza hut on the right across from the shopping mall . I worked at the pizza hut and got fired for smoking in the walk in fridge and scoffing chicken. I also worked at a garden nursey that grew and sold plants and trees. Wish i never left.
I remember this November 1988 in the GTA at that i was only in Canada for 3 months and i arrived from the US because i have lived there 9 years prior before moving, went to high school, college and work in the states, and moved to Canada and work to went to university as well, i remember driving in the border in my 1987 Nissan Sentra from Washington DC, Toronto was different back then and how would think that it has been 30 years since 1988.
So, I was wondering if you happen to have footage of the railway crossings on Lakeshore Blvd, Strachan Ave, Carlaw Ave, Pottery Rd, Kennedy Rd, Cherry St & Old Weston Rd?
You can still see the old Mennonite barn at 8:22 at Langstaff Road, it was a shame they pulled it down it hand hundred year old wooden beams in it, they should have preserved that
Nice footage! I just wanted to ask you that you don’t happen to have any old footage of driving through in Hamilton on Highway 403 around the 1990’s, do you?
Do you happen to have footage of the old HWY 69 CN at-grade railway crossing south of Sudbury from the early 90s including some railway crossings in all across Ontario from the early 90s?
5:36 Report about a computer virus, six or seven years before the internet really became a thing. You must have had to work hard to pull that off back in those days. :D
God, Hwy 7 at a level crossing with Yonge Street. I'd completely forgotten that. Unbelievable.
@@AChapstickOrange And Yonge was still Highway 11 too!
At 1:140 , that was me in my 1987 Mustang Gt ….. funny as hell , I’m 99.9999999% certain that was me
Did you remember the idiot that rode your tail there and had to step on the brakes only to get into the right lane? 😅😅
Back when Canada was actually Canada.
Back when Main Street Unionville was Kennedy Rd, and the now Kennedy Rd was the Unionville By-pass.
When lndia was still in lndia !

I remember those drives as a kid and I would see farms.
Wish I could’ve seen the number on the Sears truck I would’ve known the driver. Brilliant memory shaker👍
You missed Tommys Burgers just before you turned down Markham road , that was the best spot In Markham forever!

Most vehicles you see on the road are American made cars, today it’s the opposite.
When people made $5/hr and were still able to afford a house
Yah, I think a mortgage in 1988 was about 14% per annum.
Awesome Video. Thanks for posting
I wonder if you have a video of Highway 400 from Toronto to Vaughan from the early 1990's
There used to be an airport by Canada's Wonderland
listening to the news on the radio talking about computer viruses was very interesting.
HA! I didn't mute the radio talk portions because I knew some watching would find 1988 news and ads interesting!
Hardly any SUV's & pickup trucks on the road back then.
Yea, the only pickups here are actually used in construction ..
I can see most people didn't care to use their signal back then either...
So, I was wondering if you happen to have footage of the railway crossings on Lakeshore Blvd, Strachan Ave, Carlaw Ave, Pottery Rd, Kennedy Rd, Cherry St & Old Weston Rd?
Do you videos of highway 50 and highway 7?
Sorry, no. But this one gets close to it in the beginning.
Crazy stuff.
I remember when those were all dirt roads.
You can still see the old Mennonite barn at 8:22 at Langstaff Road, it was a shame they pulled it down it hand hundred year old wooden beams in it, they should have preserved that
This is also a year before the Berlin Wall was torn down.

Hamilton, no
Do you happen to have some more highway footage with some railway crossings at grade?
Do you happen to have footage of the old HWY 69 CN at-grade railway crossing south of Sudbury from the early 90s including some railway crossings in all across Ontario from the early 90s?
Sorry, no, but I did get some construction footage of it in Port Severn in 1994 I could upload. Not the best quality though.
Wanted to watch this to see what my parents seen when they first landed in this country
Do you own this video? I would love permission to use 19 seconds of it in a documentary film I'm directing if that would be possible.
Go ahead!

Driving a Pontiac
This is insane. Highway 48/markham road looks nothing like this now. Super developped with appartments
Markham Village hasn't changed that much actually. North and south of it sure has though.
Isn't wonderful to make this drive without any BMW drivers trying to sticky beak their way into your spot?
41 cent gas !!@
