A band of Cabalist Maruaders catch wind of a legendary Stormvault buried away and make haste to loot it for its famed treasures. Unfortunately for them Clan Skryre heard the same rumours, and got there much faster.

Slaves to darkness leaders not have abilities or artifacts?
In order to use the skaven batalions, shouldn't all the battleline units be also skryre, instead of clanrats?
This list of Skaven is a real Skaventide! Ahahahah
You usually have to have skryre battleline to afford the other enginecovens, but relying on skryre battleline to protect your other weapons is pretty sketchy, especially if you don't have a lot of acolytes. Most skaven players just forego the overpriced battalions, accept they're going second, and take general battleline. They're probably more competitive with minimum clanrat units and a max size stormvermin or monk unit, but max clanrats can hold fine.
Where in the rules is the Warpspark Token please?
The most dangerous place to be near a warp lightning cannon is within 4 d6 inches of the cannon and anywhere the skaven weren't aiming.

sees 120 clan rats, FINALLY A PROPER SKAVENTIDE! (also clan rats are probably the second or third best battle line option right now, right behind marauders).

@@Lodorn retreat and charge, pretty much fearless used correctly and VERY cheap. Pretty much what you see in this batt rep how they were used to just lock down those marauders from doing any real damage.
@@corbingovers7559 I think I haven't utilised them correctly. So far they pretty much die as screens and that's that.
But I mostly play against hard hitters or shooting like Marauders, Ironguts and Stormcast.
@@Lodorn so if you notice in the beginning he uses them as a straight screen and they die in droves, but when he daisy chains them to minimize the number of clan rats are in combat he essentially won the game? Thats clan rats' biggest power move. Keep a unit in combat with minimal amount of clan rats while keeping bodies on objectives and screening out deep-strike.
@@corbingovers7559 I started my army with 120 clanrats, but then i switched to 3x20 (or 2x20 + stomvermins) to make more room for plague monks and stormfiends.

I was a bit scared with the 40k intro, but then my heartache softened as it was good old fantasy with swords and sorcery, and not fantasy in space (with swords and sorcery... hmm, is 40k actually just fantasy with a few guns and Sigmar in a chair with weird pipes sticking out of his back? I think i said too much ;) ...

@@thomassaxon8254 I always say as small dabbler in literature that grim dark is a question of genre like comedy, drama romance, etc, but the genre of style is clearly "space fantasy" of the "sword and sorcery" sub-genre; eldar=elves, orks in space, knights=marines, evil knights=chaos marines, the emperor=Barbarossa from the german legends (seriously google the monument and the picture of the emperor), and like sword and sorcery the gods are generally spiteful, the magic is volatile and corrupting, and the heroes rarely win and if they do it is because they don't mind sacrificing "the weak".
I really like how AoS has left Sword and sorcery and is more like the old myths of the Edda in norse mythology or the greek mythology with gods and men and demi-gods duking it out! too much grim dark in the world anyway ;)
Technically AoS is in space. Just in the mortal realms space. And why the hate on 40k?
@@ThatDragonGuy sorry, didn't mean to hate, just a bit of frustrated ramble ;) too many grumpy 40k people and old fantasy players where i live, AoS is more or less a refuge from these quite toxic communities. and all they have in common is lambast the setting of AoS as "weird, silly and made up", without taking a good look at their own.
@@nl3869 TBF Fantasy WAS much more grounded than Sigmar is xD. I hope CA makes a Total War: Age of Sigmar since most 40k fans play TWW already/

For my skaven Battleline I typically go clanrats with sword and shield, either 40/40/20 or 40/20/20. I also bring 40-80 plague monks with the rest skryer shooting. Seems pretty solid. Great batrep guys!
Seeing all those Clanrats is exactly why I'll stick with my Stormfiend battleline in Skryre.

Cabalists is a lot of fun. You probably should've ran more casters though to fully take advantage of the bonus - I highly recommend a gaunt summoner because he gives you a free unit with bravery 10 to sacrifice...There's also an artefact you can choose on your general to automatically succeed on the ritual once per game which I think is key.

It's Oracular visions. Like Ora-cular. Visions of the Oracle. Ocular visions would be visions of the eyes. That's just seeing.

I've been eyeing warhammer and skaven for a while, and a friend painted me a few figured to entice me for my birthday. Watching this was very helpful in understanding the mechanics, including the detailed explanations of each decision.
As someone who is barely a week out of the gate, I have a question on the play. At one point you had been daisy chaining the clanrats to prevent a teleport(?), but I thought over 5 models in a unit, you had to keep each within 1in of two models? What am I missing?
What an interesting 40K battle report but have GW released some new factions? I do not recognise these ones.

Honestly the stormfiends are so worth it. They are great with the ability to soak up damage and dish some out in both shooting and melee phase makes them real nice. They also cost something around 260 per 3 which can push an army over.
That Gnawhole in STD corner is kinda illegal, You have to deploy it more than 3 inches from any ither terrain features...

Oracular visions and daemonic power are reroll 1's, not all saves/hits/wounds. Made a huge difference

For me it's very hard to decide which one of these armies I should build. I really love Slaves to Darkness, but I love Skaven equally much

At 26:20, 9 wounds are scored against the Marauders, but then steve says they "18 dead". The warpstone spark adds 1 to the damage characteristic, but it's still only 9 wounds, so only 9 marauders should be slain, per the core rules (1 wound is 1 wound, and there's no spilling over of damage). Could be wrong here, though, I'm a new AoS player.
Also the ratling guns wound on a 4+, not a 3+. The buff provided does not modify their to-wound value.
That's incorrect. Damage does spill over.
I believe in 40k damage may not spill, but it definitely does in AOS, what they did was correct. 9 wounds, 2 damage each, and 18 single wound models died.

I am a 40k player, and over there it does not spill over (with the exception of a weapon they added for the Death Guard, if I recall correctly).
When I read the rule in AoS about wound allocation I thought it was just a poorly worded version of the 40k wound allocation. Learning the differences between AoS and 40k rules have been interesting.

Why do those ratling guns hit on 3+? Is it infact of a battalion because normal ratling gun teams hit on 4+ and wound on 4+ only the stormfiend ones wound on 3+

Weird but 70% of the time watching AOS battle reports make me want to NOT play because of how dice dependent it seems to be.

@@andrewcrawford8306 Not sure where I implied NO dice dependency...more about degree. I would also argue that Malifaux is a solid game that has some randomness, but mitigated by the decks.
