" Heima (English: At home) is a documentary and double DVD set about the tour around Iceland in the summer of 2006 of the band Sigur Rós. During the tour the band played two big open-air concerts at Miklatún - Reykjavík (30 July) and Ásbyrgi (4 August), as well as small scale concerts at Ólafsvík (24 July), Ísafjörður (26 July), Djúpavík (27 July), Háls, Öxnadalur (28 July) and Seyðisfjörður (3 August). In addition, a protest concert against the Kárahnjúkar dam was performed at Snæfellsskála (3 August). The documentary also includes footage of an acoustic concert played for family and friends at Gamla Borg, a coffee shop in the small town Borg, on 22 April 2007.
The documentary premiered in Iceland at the Reykjavík International Film Festival opening day, 27th of September 2007. Heima was released 5 November 2007 (4 December in North America) in two editions, one including atmospheric photos in a photobook documenting the tour. "

This is one of the most beautiful compositions I've ever heard. It reminds me that I am alive, and that life is beautiful.
indeed
have you seen this dvd? "heima" ? it's just ...out of this world. Amazing band giving concerts for free in their home town, which is , for me, the most beautiful place on earth.
Yes it is, but a shame about the lyrics? ... or good job most of us don't understand Icelandic? ... all that stuff about jumping in puddles with boots on, getting wet and a nosebleed? I'm still trying to see the "metaphor"; maybe he's describing his loss of virginity? If we have to search hard then all is lost? .... bit like "MacArthur Park".
Everyone else who uses it seems to get the music right though, with awakening and uplifting themes .... come to think of it the "loss of virginity theme looks promising ;-)
João Vilaça Comprei o DVD João.. tinha 17 reviews na amazon... 17 "5 estrelas" :)
Kaylee Shantz it's difficult to remember that you are dead ;-)
chances are big that this song was listened by most of us as a youngster circa 2008-2012, didnt even understand the lyrics, yet we still managed to sing it loudly and we’re proud of it
So the girl at 1.45 and I have been enjoying these comments about her.. She's my best friend from the Icelandic town, Akureyri. She's engaged sorry boys, but she appreciates the loving words! Ci vediamo in Islanda
S. Larosiliere He (or she) is not good enough for her!
Arthur Isherwood-Mote Don't be a jerk.
S. Larosiliere give her greetings from chile :)
+S. Larosiliere sei italiana?
+durumbasa no, sono islandese però parlo italiano :)
Come back Sigur Ros, you can heal the world with your beautiful songs!
your wish has come true.
so about the world

I don't understand why this song makes me so emotional.
Must be the lyrics.
Seriously.
Sigur Rós usually doesn't have (understandable) lyrics, but this song has. Icelandic though.
I always got the feeling I understood this song without understanding the lyrics. And then I Googled the lyrics. This song just sounds like the lyrics were meant to be.
The song is about 'childish' innocense and improvidence. "Jumping into puddles without boots". "And when I get a nosebleed, i'll just get up."
The video is great also.
And the song is a very good diptych with "glosoli".
Rain and sun.
Nathaniel Girma me too..
because this is music, with feelings, meaning and heart. that's a simply why. and that's why we "don't understand", we're getting on "robot mode" being afraid to feel nowadays :)
me too me too

You listen to this song, you cry, you feel alive and you live on.
Pulling me back to the innocence of childhood when indeed all we had to worry about was getting soaked socks and mud covered trousers from jumping barefoot into puddles. God i love this song ;-)
For me, the greatest song ever written
AminoExcess 2020, and its still most beautiful song
this song makes me cry. i cant even understand the words but the song gives its meaning . . i played this when my mother is still 2 hours b4 losing her

Cant say show is in heaven, but for dure she is in peace, a peace that we cant understand or imagining, thats for sure, and that si better Than a thousand heaves
God bless the soul of your mother. She’s in peace I’m sure.
Anyone in 2019 ???
This is the most beautiful happy song and video of my life, thanks god for made u guys alive
The peace this song gives you is the same feeling we need right now in 2020.
This song, regardless of understanding the lyrics, is the most beautiful song I've ever heard. This is my favourite song ever
They brought together a wide demographic of people and constructed a set that pleased everyone who attended. To see them all equally enjoying themselves in this way is destructive to my impressions of society. No matter how long it lasted, it's good to know everyone was enjoying themselves around family, nature and the good company of others. It's a rare thing to be brought together in such a way, so I'm glad you all decided to record it, as I'm sure everyone who is viewing this is as well.
u r dumb.
An insightful comment, especially given the insanity going on in the world five years later.
Did my life just pass me by in these 7 minutes. Never heard anything quite like this. So full of life .... These guys deserve so much more ...
Walked down the aisle to this song
+Erin S We too!
And me! And now I use it to soothe my baby (constantly played it to him in my belly as well)

Me too😃
My best friend walked down the isle to this. No ilse middle of the woods perfect wedding perfect song. Luvnu all.
Been going back to this video for years. What a beautiful piece of music.
In 2005 Sigur Ros toured Australia but they didn’t come to Perth were I am from (Bastards). My girlfriend and I had to scrounge together some money so we could fly to Brisbane, stay in some shifty back packers and see them because we were not going to miss it. We got lost trying to find the venue but found it in time and it was awesome, they had an amazing live sound and they played all new stuff. After all that they came to Perth a bit later.
PS. In Australia bastard is a nice word. I have got in trouble for this before.
You're a barsted 😉😉
Damn, this is one of the greatest live performances I've ever seen.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
I saw them in Montreal at an outdoor festival a handful of years ago... my buddy (6'-5" 200+lbs) shed some tears. lol Most beautiful concert I've ever seen.
I was already here but olympics 2022 brought me here again. Now I’m here and I’m also here. Peace on creatures
this is the most beautiful song I've ever heard in my life
I feel so in peace, but also a little sad when i hear this song.
Thnks for all the people who share the same feeling
francisco fiorani I thought I was the only one. I'm lad someone else shares a similar experience. There's something about this song that's both tragic and peaceful. It also reminds of Planet Earth (the documentary) and how we're destroying the only home we'll ever have.
Gema Guevara thks, its nice to know that we share the same feeling about something. Even if we are a miles away on the same planet. The human being, destroy every day our mother earth. I became a vegan to try help make our planet recover itself. And hope someday more people starts to see what we are made by our own home.
francisco fiorani Even if people don't become vegans, they should thank Mother Nature for her blessings. For some reason Hippipolla reminds me of everything that's beautiful in our planet.
+francisco fiorani Couln't describe it better. It's bittersweet.
Absolutely one of the best songs I’ve ever heard so touching emotional beautiful
beautiful music, beautiful people, beautiful place. Iceland is the defenition of Awesome!
😊😊😊😊
But they still kill whales ! :
Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture statement released Tuesday said a maximum of 209 fin whales and 217 minke whales can be killed each year between 2018 and 2025.
Weirdest moment of my life... Im 41 yesterday, heard this song countless times as a young man and loved it. but its been a rough few years, after my son passed from a seizure on July 19 2022.. just now listening to this and thinking about everything a single tear dropped from my eye and I just sat here dazed for a minute as it turned into a flood not being able to control myself. IT doesn't get easier as time goes by, but it is becoming less. RIP Cashton, MIss you and love and know you had something to do with that. I hope someone reads this and feels something... thanks sigur ros for making me feel something again...
Don't understand a single word of this song but can't help getting teary eyed and emotional every time I hear it.
I've still not watched this video once without it bringing me to tears.
This warms my heart every single time I watch it
I live in Colombia, a really hot country where the people thinks that the armed conflict and the corruption are normal things. This song makes me feel in a better place...
Same as Azerbaijan my friend ( You'll say where is Azerbaijan? )
+rauf hesenov Well amigo.... Do you want to be my friend?
+Felipe Jimenez lo mismo en Mexico hermano, entiendo el sentir que te transmite esta musica. un abrazo!
I understand you, man, I live in Brazil :T
+Fox Fields What do you think about the Olympic Games in your country?
this song makes me feel much better
man, i just knew this Band, but this concert was held 10 years ago. Where have I been.

+aSymptomOfLife Portugaaaaaaaaaaaal Yeah
I very much enjoy the fact that all the Icelandic people went to this concert, and just sat there. They probably realised that they were in the presence of greatness, but they didn't really want to acknowledge it. As is the Icelandic way.
Must be the 100th maybe 100,000th time i've listened to this tune and it still and always will bring a tear to my eye and my heart may skip a beat...i'm a humble man, but when i listen to this.....my heart pours emotion.....
Thanks for a wonderful tune.xXx...
I have so much love for Iceland and it's beautiful people, culture, and country. I listened to this song while taking off out of Keflavík and it encompasses everything I've come to adore about that wonderful place. It makes me feel on top of the world, the same way Iceland did.
Saw them 5 years ago. Phenomenal. When they closed the crowd walking out was practically speechless. Reverent. When they hit this song I was so moved , so elated I couldn't hold back tears of joy. Best, most powerfully emotive show I've ever seen. If you ever get a chance see them !
Now,my desire to go to Iceland has heightened even more! Now, I want to go to Iceland ...and watch Sigur Ros LIVE too!!!
This makes me want to pack up my family and move to Iceland.
Richard Langford Right? Iceland is such a magical place and I mean that in the most literal sense of the word.
+Gema Guevara yep! I'm even saving up money to go there!
I also feel the same way.
yep
fuck yeah:)))
Have you ever felt something so beautiful it makes you cry
Back in 06 (was 20) when I was discovering my true inspirations (Syd Barrett, Nick Drake, Graham Coxon and others) my girlfriend at the time -first girlfriend and love- surprised me with this song. Still moves me to the core each and every time. That girlfriend is a long gone ex but our 13 year old child and this song will never go away. So moving. Especially the transition to Með blóðnasir. Magical moments include the baby at 5:38 (almost on synch with the bass crescendo) and the toddler in 5:39 (start of the harpsichord solo thingie). And that HUG ipat 6:27. Magical. Take some back to another time.
So much beauty--the music, the young musicians, the landscape. Brings tears and smiles...
This song is proof of how music transcends language. It took me through a very bad part of my life. Every chord made me feel like there was hope. Sigur Ros saved my life. My daughter thanks you.
I feel that this song gave me a hope.
so beautiful song !
falling in love with this masterpiece..
and um, i really need that, really need that warm hug, so much
Sigur Ros is awesome.. I wish someday I watch their Live Performance.. Love from India !!!
I'm just return from trip on Iceland. This land is exacly like Sigur Rós music - melancholic, dreamy, just beautiful, bringing tears to eyes. Most amazing days of my life.
It's such a tranquil setting.
It's peaceful.
The way the environment hugs them all like they're being cuddled.
Beautiful yet it's uplifting.
All topped off by Jonsi's voice.
I feel like I am melting and falling down to ground bcuz of this song.
into the pit of hell that is the reality called 헬조선 right?
That is hands down the best live performance I've ever heard.
Why Iceland has such talented musicians?
superior nordic genes :^)
+ Naval Bombardment
Nice racism there.
racist bastard
Truth is racism apparently.
How is that even remotely truth explain white coat?
My son belive that He was been there. He is pacefull Blond boy, teen years old. He has postive point of live. Thanks to Sigur Roos.
Hoppipolla has always been one of my favourite Sigur Ros songs, and this live version is pure bliss
lucky people..
the most beautiful country i have visited combined with the most amazing music i have heard..
If by chance there's an alien landed on earth right on that place while sigur ros is playing, they're surely gonna worship human.
no they would worship life.
Then they'll go to USA and destroy us
Cant even reply right. Goes right to my heart
I saw Sigur Ros perform at Bonnaroo 2008. It was a late night set, they had these beautifully lit globes hanging around the stage and neighboring trees. They performed this and I will never forget it. It was the first time I heard this beautiful song, and live it was just overwhelming. I sat there, held my girl and cried. Will never forget it.
My favorite song, my favorite video
Amazing. To me it feels like an all encompassing love from where the creation occured. Such talent. I hope they do well. I'm addicted to this song & it raises my vibration every time i hear it. well done. Sigur Ros
Ouço sempre quando estou na bad, mas com a certeza que sairei. Música linda

A música do Sigur rós e jónsi é inacreditável , ainda não vi música no mundo que invade a alma de uma forma tão bonita como essas
Here you go with them lyrics in English. They are written after the Icelandic lyrics!! :)
[Icelandic:]
Brosandi
Hendumst í hringi
Höldumst í hendur
Allur heimurinn óskýr
Nema þú stendur
Rennblautur
Allur rennvotur
Engin gúmmístígvél
Hlaupandi inn í okkur
Vill springa út úr skel
Vindurinn
Og útilykt af hárinu þínu
Ég anda eins fast og ég get
Með nefinu mínu
Hoppípolla
I engum stígvélum
Allur rennvotur (rennblautur)
I engum stígvélum
Og ég fæ blóðnasir
En ég stend alltaf upp
[Hopelandic]
Og ég fæ blóðnasir
Og ég stend alltaf upp
[Hopelandic]
[English Translation:]
Smiling
Spinning 'round and 'round
Holding hands
The whole world a blur
But you are standing
Soaked
Completely drenched
No rubber boots
Running in us
Want to erupt from a shell
The wind
And outdoor smell of your hair
I breathe as hard as I can
With my nose
Hopping in puddles
Completely drenched
Soaked
With no boots on
And I get nosebleed
But I always get up
[Hopelandic]
And I get nosebleed
But I always get up
[Hopelandic]
OHMYGOSH! thANK YOU SO, SO MUCH I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG AND I WANT TO SING IT SO BAD BUT I CAN'T.
really ? I hope so ! Thanks
Nice one✌️
Abdullah Mahmood. þetta er ‘ég lamdi eins fast og ég get’, ekki ‘anda’
Thanks.
I love the way this wonderful music makes me feel, it is something else... I feel i can fly out of my body, I cry listening this song, I feel so happy, so thankful with the opportunity to live and enjoy this gift.
Perfect song and harmony. Really enjoy it a lot.
Just discovered this band and I can't stop listening to them. Amazing music, Beautiful!!!
this song and comforting sounds is the real sound of the north!!!
That must be about half the population of Iceland there
Or more. Might be that the only ones who couldn't attend were the police officers, firefighters and the entire emergency personnel ;)
lol even the views of this video is nearly 3 times of iceland's population
Try 10 times the population.
haha right sorry I mean 10 times
You all must be kidding me. Iceland's population is 300000. And it's increasing by 5000 every year.
I’ve never felt so happy and sad at the same time. I love this song. So many emotions stemming from this song that I don’t even understand. True raw talent.
never heard a piece of music more cathartic than this song. It's something in the way it builds, combined with the obviously brilliant melody.
I am from Portugal 🇵🇹, i can’t understand a word, but i love listen this masterpiece👌🏻
To the 167 people who disliked this I shake my head in disbelief.
+KDBromage UK , me too!
Iceland is the real heaven. Scenic beauty, majority Atheist population, brilliant music scene- Bjork, Of Men and Monsters, and Sigur Ros. What more else can you hope for?
danny haobam AW DREAM HEAVEN FOR ATHEIST LIKE ME! 😍😍😍
yeah, and olafur arnalds now
A Gallup poll conducted in 2012 found that 57% of Icelanders considered themselves "a religious person", 31% consider themselves "a non religious person", while 10% define themselves as "a convinced atheist"
Considering you wrote that comment 2 years ago, unless the number of atheists quintupled over 4 years, which seems quite unlikely, then it's not a majority atheist population.
The game Emily is Away Too brought me here and I'm so in love with this band. It doesn't matter if I can't understand a word they sing, it just makes me feel alive.
Makes me well up with tears every time. Can't think of another song with this much beauty, or even video for that matter.
I do not know what the song means but the music is just epic and blissful! Great music, love it.
I will not cry to Hoppipolla, 5 seconds in crying like a baby 😭
Mark...mate...same....48 years old and this song hits me every. single. time.
I adore this tune, but I find the video somehow even more wonderful. Oh to live in a community like that!
not a clue what the song is about, dont speak the language but that said... with a song so beautiful who needs words.....the music just speaks for itself and the power in the vocals . shows music has no boundaries
muziek van sigur ros brengt me terug in IJsland. Het geeft me dat magische gevoel. Wonderschone muziek.
best recording of Hoppípolla! Love Iceland!
No puedo evitar imaginar a mis abuelos y mi familia, cómo era su vida en el sur de Chile :')
Always i imagine my family, as was their life in the south of Chile :')
Is it just me or anyone else reading and giving like to each and every comment on this video.
And appreciating people who are appreciating this music. ♥️
We need this in our lives 2020
This is an oasis
Fell in love with this 8 years ago. I fell in love with this again on 21/09/2024 - I was reminded of all the pure emotions I felt 8 years ago like yesterday. I was lucky to see them live in 2021. That day was beyond belief for me, and I might have even had a few teardrops. PURE CLASS, PURE ART AND CAPTIVATING💌💌💌
Love this song so much
To all the people that have commented so far on the dislikes to this post and are sad because of it or similar .... for every dislike there are over 80 likes while in reality that number is probably in the thousands .... and honestly there are times when I dislike their music but it really depends on mood, like right now it is connecting with my soul and how I feel and on other days it is not. What I am always glad about is the favorable light that this band seems to show Iceland in and they also will always have my respect :)
Além da maravilhosa música esse video nos mostra que na Islândia nao existe poluição ambiental e muito menos sonora.
Besides the beautiful music this vídeo shows that in Iceland not there environmental pollution and noise pollution!!
Even I didn’t understand what the word meant, now I realize this is the power of music! Thanks 수퍼밴드!
wow... in my point of view, one of the most beautiful song from them, i love Sigor Rós. Really wonderful. I live in Brazil and here alll so different but i appreciate it so much.
