My mom used to sing this to me when I couldn't sleep when I was 1-4 y/o. When I was younger (7-9), I used to listen to it when I missed her (divorced parents). I cried to it many times. So many countless times. I've been very burnt out and easily frustrated recently. Crying over the smallest triumphs. It feels nice to relive my old nastolgia and sadness Edit: my mom isn’t dead or anything, i just don’t see her often and it makes me sad EDIT #2: I JUST SAW THE BREEDERS LIVE AND THEY PLAYED NO ALOHA FROM THE LAST SPLASH (i started crying)
Driving around New Brunswick in '93 or '94 to visit people on my Dad's side of the family. My brother had this on a mix-tape, the only tape we had in the car
I remember listening to this song when I came home late, after a night out with friends. It was my "last cigarrette of the day song" for quite some time in the Fall of '93. Great times, hard to believe almost 30 years have gone by, still a fresh song!
Ed's Redeeming Qualities originally recorded and released Drivin' on 9 in 1989. Written by bandmates Steve Hickoff and Dom Leone( Dom died not long after its release) . Considering The Breeders have a great time covering it for their album and performing it well over the years, i hope Steve has been recieving deserved royalties.
Just heard two lines from this song at the end of an episode of Poker Face and it was a faint memory of my time long ago listening to the Breeders. Miss that sound! I gotta pull my CDs outta storage.
30 years today, we- young Americans- spent spring break in Falaraki. Ouzo, mopeds, heat. One cool night we walked down a quiet side street back to our 1/2 constructed accommodations. Sunburned. Ouzo. Singing this along the way. Still rings: )
Ah...there's that song, that I heard long ago on my Breeders cassette while I was driving along sunset blvd heading to the pacific ocean. Why does it make me cry, now.

I fell in love with Kim deal the first time I saw the Pixies. I'm a bass player and I couldn't resist that. Moreover I find her songwriting and voice far superior to anything Frank Black ever did before or since. Surfer Rosa was a great album. But in my opinion the Breeders topped it. Love you Kim.
That's bc there isn't one. This was put together for a TV special (the info says Nomad Interview 1994), using scenes from Live Shows, previous music videos and stock footage.
Wow is this song just so nostalgic and I wasnt even born nor lived in the 90s ima 2000s baby but in a way I grew up listening to music like this on long car rides to see family and i recently just got into the breeders back in april🎶🎶🤠💜

Cannonball was the only "The Breeders" song I was familiar with, so when I heard this song at the end of the series Poker Face (s1 ep7) I thought it was Scarlett Johansson singing. She sounds a lot like Kim to me.
Huh intresting for me I found their "cannonball" on a ig post of dancing bunnies wit it playing in the background and since then I gave the "last splash" a listen and now im here
I felt like killing myself over this song ,I miss thos so much, being pure and outgoing, now Im just a 40 year old loser, listening to the songs that made my mind spin, for nothing,Im still at the same hole, just drowning
Kim looked like an approachable girl who is always supportive of you and with whom you can count on spontaneous drunken sex. Of course, I doubt that this was the case in life, but in popular music, the interest of guys in outwardly attractive, accessible girls was intensively exploited. Many listened to pop music, dreaming of such girls and went to rock concerts in the hope of meeting them there, but in the end they got nothing, they were just used by cunning producers

kim deal’s voice is butter for the soul
Agreed 110% on that one!!!^^^
My favourite vocalist ever, I adore her❤
Darn, I use olive oil on my soul.
Melted butter ..on hot toast ❤️🔥
hell yeah
This song took me back to a place I'd never been but will always miss

@@yeahnah671 thank you
Hang in there pal.
Call her everyday
I don't think I have cried in 20 years. Except a few months ago while listening to this song I just started sobbing.
I totally fell in love with this melancholy, yet strangely chipper little sing-along when I first heard it in the 1990s..
Driving around New Brunswick in '93 or '94 to visit people on my Dad's side of the family. My brother had this on a mix-tape, the only tape we had in the car
A very underrated band. So many great tunes. I mean their album freaking inspired Cobain.
This song is so beautiful - I have a real melancholic nostalgia for the time I first heard this song.

I needed that, thank you.
This is my third or fourth favourite song about golf.
I can still remember going to the record shop to grab this CD the day after it came out. Good times. This song blew me away, still does.
Mystique of full albums kind of gone with social media/people know what's coming. Different in those days, better. Yes, belter of a tune.
Love how the drums push the beat when the violin solo kicks in
Classic western swing technique, beautiful

I did the exact same thing! Heard those two lines and knew I’d heard it ages ago, and then it hit like a happy memory ❤
this youngin just got introduced to them through that show :) sooo grateful

Ouzo. Yeah, I love it, but WOW.
Good ol' 90s innocence.
There wasn't much innocence in the 90s. Although no Internet.
They look very high 😂

Kim Deal really is amazing.
Ah...there's that song, that I heard long ago on my Breeders cassette while I was driving along sunset blvd heading to the pacific ocean. Why does it make me cry, now.

This song and 4 Winds by Bright Eyes bring me to a specific place in my life.
Can't hardly wait
@@nicholasalbeck7114 Can't Hardly Wait and Left of the Dial are rad songs. Lucero - Slow Dancing.
Two of my favorite vehicles, a '90-ish Ford pickup and a '63-ish Valiant. I shoulda guessed they would have such excellent taste.
Poker Face (the series) brought me here.. throwback!
Just square danced to this at riot fest last night, what a dream 🥹
They played this and a few more off the album in a bar on Saturday night. Put me in a great mood for lots of drinks.
One of my favorites from this great band. Shows another side to their prodigious talents.
I love this song SO much 💜
Wow!! What a find. I always thought this was the best song on Last Splash (even though it is a cover). And never knew there was a video.
I agree!

So much talent in the 90's. What a decade of great music. Beyond that it turned unrecognizable.
Still some good bands out there, just harder to find!

I couldn't have said it better! I too fell head over heels the first time I saw/heard Kim. She truly changed my life in so many ways.
a perfect little gem
I love the breeders. Saw them live and was great.
The first time we saw them live, Kelley played the fiddle 🎻 on this.

Bless you, you are stronger than you think xx
You are strong , you have purpose, there will be light at then of the hole once you get out of it
Turn those words into lyrics and set it to a melancholy tune by the Breeders
