On the UK tour in 1989 they used to finish with this and had a huge bank of bright white lights behind them that they would shine into the audience, so you could only see the band in silhouette. It was awesome
They closed their set with this in Memphis about 10 years ago in a pretty small theater, and fogged it out so thick all you could see was their silhouettes back-lit on the stage. It was really cool.
Met Kim in the lobby of the Ventura Theater before a show in around '91. David and Joey, too. She whispered to me, "He's a dweeb", nodding at Dave. Joey was nice, the, um, drummer was friendly, and Kim was funny and wonderful and more; especially funny. She signed my Paris bootleg tape, laughing, for some reason. Meanwhile, Francis was attempting to parallel park his big old 60's white Cadillac convertible. Great moment, great show. My fave song here. Thanks!
Am I the only who, after watching this, I need to start over from the beginning and watch again, like, 6 more times? It’s also fun to see Frank take a break from singing duties and just RawK on the guitar.
She is the siren on the rocks, the bitch in the tall grass, the succubus holding her electrified instrument in a fog of dry ice and footlights. Her voice is cold yearning, calling me into the bleak and blowing snow to embrace her into the white.
That first poem or whatever was great. BTW I met Kim. She was sooooooooo cool and hot. It was 1991, in the lobby of the Ventura Theater, before their tiny show there.
Great song. Great performance. When it kicks into the outro at 2:27 its epic. Check out Frank and Joe hitting their pedals too :) Kim Deal is proper in the zone and sexy as ever :)
Many Thanx Einzack!! I've got that disc,& saw them 1st time the next yr.;at our University Gymnasium. So great, but the band wasn't be in too much harmony with each other right at that time. We still became instant fans .Viva Los Pixies!!
this is them live in amsterdam and from the pixies greateszt hits and the live amsterdam concert on disc two i wish someone had recorded bone machine's into the white performance thde best pixies show ever but this is alright thank you for uploading this and called band too stoned to play love, william "the joker"
@DjElSemtex thanks alot for the original video. i'd love to see someone synch the entire video to what was released on the DTTP live disc. that'd be a killer wee project.
By really getting into the Pixies I also learned to appreciate the more extreme and crazy punk bands, like Crass or Butthole Surfers. Punk is really something you have to develop taste and ear for. But once you do, it's bliss.
I was lucky enough to cat them live aug 24 2004 at kingsbury hall in Salt Lake City it’s a small venue. I remember counting them playing around 34 songs. It was wonderful, amazing, beyond words and I’m glad I got to catch Kim with the group! I was 15 and went with this girl I really liked and her parents oddly enough- they were cool obviously. Odd caveat to the story.
the first time I saw them was that summer, 1989, in dc at the 9:30 (the old location on F st) and it was hot as fuck and we had all been sweating like crazy in there. Kim had a tshirt drenched in ice water draped on her head. she was do damn beautiful and saucy. they played this song to close out their encore and it was the first time I ever heard it and it absolutely blew my mind. this may be the sexiest sing in rock history. and it was probably more than I could handle at that age.
Best ever Pixies song, Kim rules. Lot more passion in the Into the White performances in late 80's/early 90's compared to the tours they did the last couple of years. See Charles freaking out!

WOW I live in ventura and had no idea the played there, that makes ventura so much cooler
That’s a great analogy for their career; Kim charms everybody while Francis does the spadework
Lucky! I've seen em live in SF but didn't meet em... I'm in love with kim. She's so sexy funny smart fun she makes me happy!
Dave rocks!
Love him 4eva.
Best song make believe....love this badass drummer 4eva
if she wishes to me, i should die. 😭
I've never read a UA-cam comment section cooler than this by a long shot. Those who adore Kim, adore Kim. I too adore Kim.
Well, Kim is adorable! 👍🏼
Couse Kim was the real Deal 😅
Am I the only who, after watching this, I need to start over from the beginning and watch again, like, 6 more times?

Words don't do this justice, one of my favourite songs ever.
tukwila
I agree 💯 ❤
She is the siren on the rocks, the bitch in the tall grass, the succubus holding her electrified instrument in a fog of dry ice and footlights. Her voice is cold yearning, calling me into the bleak and blowing snow to embrace her into the white.
You are a pretentious douche.
danielscissorhands I'm just in love with a moment lost in time... like teardrops in the rain (now THAT'S pretentious!)
That first poem or whatever was great. BTW I met Kim. She was sooooooooo cool and hot. It was 1991, in the lobby of the Ventura Theater, before their tiny show there.
el scientifico cool poem/story bro
I was a teenager too once
When the songs so good, even the band can't help but start vibing to it. What a song!
Wow ! Frank Black really got caught up in performing that song. I've never seen a video of him gyrate that intensely on stage.
Molly Mollinaro
He just had his 4th cup of coffee
I haven't heard him called Frank for a while. Charles or Francis, mostly. Even I stopped calling him Black Francis a decade or so ago.
yeah, he always looked rather... hmmm... reluctant to play kims songs, but here, he looks like hes letting that all go for a minute or two.
Totally. And by contrast, I love how serene Kim is. I mean she never moves around much when she plays, but this is different.
Pixies changed my musical tastes when i was young. Thank you Pixies!
Amazing performance for one of the best songs ever written ❤❤❤❤
Great song. Great performance. When it kicks into the outro at 2:27 its epic. Check out Frank and Joe hitting their pedals too :) Kim Deal is proper in the zone and sexy as ever :)
Jonathan Williams good call on that time stamp...hadn't noticed how Frank goes OFF like he bounced off the peddle.
fuckin’ right!!
Every single time I hear these first few bass notes, I always get goosebumps. Still to this day.
Whoever is disliking this performance has zero taste in music. Even Francis is throwing down. Every single one of them is in the zone.
What a rockin' voice! So full of tension and release.
...so sweet and dirty.
One of the greatest tracks of all time!!!
i could not stand on a stage next to kim deal, simply amazing, she's like hypnotic
falling in love everytime she's in frame ❤️
This concert so great. The song is massive, ended
concert in Barcelona 2016, white smoke everywhere, trancending.
Many Thanx Einzack!! I've got that disc,& saw them 1st time the next yr.;at our University Gymnasium. So great, but the band wasn't be in too much harmony with each other right at that time. We still became instant fans .Viva Los Pixies!!
Nuts bass lead, Kim. Powerful tune. It's all about Frank and Joe playin catchup. Real energy here. Big Dave carries the whole thing.
Thanks for sharing I never knew they played this live this was a b-side to one of the CDs I have, they really were great live such a raw tune
this is them live in amsterdam and from the pixies greateszt hits and the live amsterdam concert on disc two i wish someone had recorded bone machine's into the white performance thde best pixies show ever but this is alright thank you for uploading this and called band too stoned to play love, william "the joker"
Please never take this down.
Beat poet delivery on grunge. What a sandwich. Great recording.
This reminds me of all the great Breeders material that was to come. Thanks Pixie's and Kim!
excelllenttt
Great to see my video-edit with GOOD audio now.. :-)
This is one of the best videos ever!!!!! Einzack you are a legend!!!!
Cool.... It's my favourite Pixies song, and this is actualy my favourite version of this song. Kim Deal is god(ess)
I saw them about a month after this in Leicester, it was the stand out track for me in this gig, I was 16, it was fucking awesome!!

Too GOOD!

Such a dope B-side...should've been included on one of the albums!
Pensar que aun no nacía y ésta epicidad ya existía
One of the best pixies´s songs.
Deeper tan ypur sleepy head!!!!
into the white
hardly ever mentioned as a pixies classic like dead and debaser etc but its such a great song.. love it. the best band that ever existed x
@DjElSemtex thanks alot for the original video. i'd love to see someone synch the entire video to what was released on the DTTP live disc. that'd be a killer wee project.
The concert itself was also aired live on Dutch Radio 3. One of my alltime fave Pixies-gigs, live sound mixing extremely good.. :-)
They played this as an encore last night in Toronto. My dad thought they were just improvising and messing with the crowd
Saw them the same year in Belgium ( and in 1989 & 1993 ( last tour ) - what a Rock'n'roll punch in the face we took - Jeeez - it was gorgeous .
Followed them since 1987 Love them Still.....Death to The Pixies
really good drumming Mr Lovering !
What a superb performance!
This is GOLD
Holy fuck this is so good.
My reaction as well
Love this version.....Kim throws her bass into high gear and Frank gets rockin'.......into the white into the white into the white
That was just amazing. Thanks for posting

So. how what you deal with the girl after? Do you married?
@@vinfluenzahaha no but she’s a good friend
Pixies eternos! Gracias por existir...
Some bands changed
the way music went - this is one of the most influential bands that never got the money their adepts cashed in on.
I LOVE THIS SONG
Kim looking as fine as this performance. This has to be my favorite live album of all time.
Beautiful woman beautiful voice.
Great song!!!!
Kim... THE BEST.
ROCKIN!!

Gouge Away is my fav studio track but this is my fav live track, just rips! I’d love to get the disk this was on……..
no dislikes!....it should stay that way...Kim rocks!!
love it
2:26 you know things getting serious when frank is starting to movin his feets!
You should create a playlist of all of these clips from this show, in the order that they were played. That would be very very nice of you.
Superbe!!! ☆☆☆☆☆
my favorite pixie song i think.
holy shit this sounds so good
Silver also!!
EPIC!
Świetna rzecz. Jeden z tych numerów Pixies który pokazuje jak ważną i wpływową postacią w tym zespole była Kim Deal.
Esa voz...
La mejor versión 😁
Is this used in a movie? If not, it should be used in a scene so epic, words would not be needed.
Even Frank's getting down.
Go on Frank!
Best ever Pixies song, Kim rules. Lot more passion in the Into the White performances in late 80's/early 90's compared to the tours they did the last couple of years. See Charles freaking out!
dude. type in youtube 'caribou live' > first video >enjoy
... and here´s why Kim is irreplaceable .
This is rare talent
🙏🏼♥🙏🏼

Lovely strange sounds
Joey´s solo is like Purple Haze by Hendrix, great

Nunca Jamas va a volver a suceder esto!

The best live version of this song by a mile, even with the Santiago's mistake.
I LOVE YOU JAYME!
