Douche bag dad who favors stepson: noooooo nope nopity nope nope. I absolutely hate it when parents come to social media to ask the opinion of strangers instead of just respecting the feelings and needs of their children. So, it’s only a problem if Reddit says it is? So it’s only ok to do something about if Reddit says to? That’s bullshit. This isn’t the only thing this dad has or is failing at. If he needs Reddit to tell him to respect his daughter…he doesn’t respect his daughter.
My husband is 50 and I’m 57 like the people in the first story. If my husband told me he applied for and might get that job, I’d be tickled to death for him. I’d start googling birding spots and sunrise spots in that area for me, and then places to fish for if/when we told our 3 sons. Then I’d sell it to them by telling them all the new places they could fish when they visit. lol

Op your daughter should come first not your stepson your daughter is going to eventually hate you and resent you
1sr story… doesn't seem like she ever knew this was a dream or desire. At the end of the day, does she really want to stand in the way of his dream? Applying to jobs is just that, what are the options, how will it affect the dynamic of the relationship? neither knows the outcome. She needs to be supportive!
30:20 he was at resentment when he accepted the job offer and the way she reacted pushed him over the edge to indifference. ESH, this situation arose from 2 people pretending like everything is fine when it clearly wasn’t. I’d bet money that they were having problems before they got the house and thought that starting a family would magically fix their issues. And luckily they never did, because that would have been the biggest mistake
