My younger brother committed suicide last weekend by overdosing on something. He was found with headphones on, presumably listening to something. This is his youtube account. He made a playlist containing 6 songs that was edited the day he passed. This is one of the 6 songs. With the method he used, he was dead after about 30 minutes, probably unconscious around 12 minutes. I like to think that it was peaceful for him with his music on. I love you Myles, I'll miss you everyday for the rest of my life.
Lords Fighter lol yeah. Modern music (I mean the current pop culture) isn't good. It's in style for a month, then no one listens to it ever again. It's all one hit wonders and that bullshit. The rock/metal bands that have survived into the 21st century have carried on the REAL music. Bands like Breaking Benjamin will be the reason it survives for the coming years. I can't stop listening to these guys!
I just want to thank Benjamin Burnley and the rest of Breaking Benjamin....you guys have no idea how your music has gotten me through some pretty bad shit. Your album WE ARE NOT ALONE to this day has become my emotional release instead of violence! I cant thank you enough!
I don't get how people could think that this is a love song. The *real* meaning of the song goes like this: the main "character" of the song begins to realize that he and the one he loves are ultimately incompatible with one another. This thought begins to trouble him, causing him to enter a state of denial. But, as time passes, he slowly begins to accept it in order to move on with his life. It's really deep stuff, and I prefer it over yet another sappy love song.
@@visorseen8954 I mean, unless the alcohol can “Say something new,” “save itself,” “fall,” or “save what’s left of you.” It just doesn’t make sense. Even if you look at it from the perspective of a friend or loved one trying to help him, why would they have to forgive him? Why would they forget him? Why is it the end??? Who or what is with him forever? What does the hand he’s holding represent? Who all fell down?? Lol maybe I’m just refusing to see it, but I just don’t really think it’s about alcoholism. Especially seeing as how Dear Agony. Personally, it definitely *could* be about his alcoholism, but it strikes me more as a relationship or loved one dearly important to him. But, I actually think another song he wrote is about alcoholism. “What Lies Beneath” strikes me as about his alcoholism. Between the sheer emotional rollercoaster expressed. It feels like a song about how alcohol is something that is a “devil in disguise,” so to speak, and how his alcoholism has him feeling stuck, broken, and hurt, someone he can’t help but detest. You see words of utter depression, “Here we go, does it hurt, say goodbye, to this world,” followed by words of strength, “I will not be undone,” only to be torn down by words of hopelessness “Come to life, it gets worse.” “All in all, you’re no good, you don’t cry like you should” sounds to me like a really self-loathing emotion, rather than an insult. “So, I'll find, what lies beneath, your sick, twisted smile. As I lie underneath, your cold jaded eyes” It sounds to me like he’s seeing alcoholism for what it is, a poison rather than an antidote, yet having to admit being stuck under it’s unrelenting gaze and hold. “Now you turn, the tide on me, 'cause you're so unkind.” This sounds like the textbook struggle of an addict. One day you’re doing fine, then suddenly you give in. It’s a struggle. “I will always be here, for the rest of my life!” is him saying that this is something that is going to stick with him, you don’t just get over an addiction. All you can do is push forward and live trying to overcome and manage it. As for the line “Don't, carry me under, you're the devil in disguise,” it sounds like he’s pleading, doing anything he can not to fall to it one more time, praying for victory in the battle he wages against an enemy pretending to be his ally. “God, sing for the hopeless, I'm the one, you left behind.” This is just straight “Why have you abandoned me God?!” This affirms the feeling of being lost, stuck, in a situation with no hope and no help. This is a beautifully haunting song. You can hear the pain and sadness in Burnley's vocals here when he talks about his struggles with addiction, overcoming them, and self-acceptance/forgiveness. I think that Dear Agony is Breaking Benjamin's magnum opus.
I've been listening to them since 2006 and this song in particular gets me every time. Dear Agony is my favorite album, hands down. I completely agree with this.

When you’re trying to make a conversation with an introvert 0:57
Always was a beautiful song. A lot of 2016 vibes....
Breaking Benjiman will stand the test of time. They would have been big in the 80s and will be awesome in the future.

Me
I am not sure, but I hear "sing something new", which to me sounds even more amazing. I bet these lyrics are right, but I think that sounds cooler
+AJB2226 I think it's meant to be "Seeing something new".
+AJB2226 [Chorus:]
Sing something new
I have nothing left
I can't face the dark without you
There's nothing left to lose
The fight never ends
I can't face the dark without you
+AJB2226 It is "sing something new"
+Zillex234 luvs chiken say something new

This song makes me feel hopeless without the certain people I care about. . .means family to me. . .I feel like I need them for some purpose. I can't face the LighT without them. I am in the Darkness, reguardless if I need them or not. I am still in the DarkSide. But I cannot face the LighT without them.
Umm...cuts about Ben's relationship with God.
Demon 0144 same! My family and friends bring me out of my darkness
For all those who have been hurt, and know then pain of being alone, even by the hand of the one who caused the pain. This song is for you keep your head held high and keep moving forward.
