I really love how the colour builds up throughout the process. I really got to get into glazing soon. There definitely seems a certain brilliance about it.
This Is so beautiful I can't believe my eyes ! And the moment you added the highlights on the cheek, nose and brow bone was so satisfying to watch *0* thank you for putting beauty into the world :)
When you did the “oiling out”, did you wait for the “oiling out” to dry before you did the glazing, or did you do the glazing while the “oiling out” is still wet?
Dear Sir......Cuong... U R Simply GREAT..............seeing u paint is greatest pleasure..............patients...passion....dedication...just Wonerful...!!!!
I loved watching the process, however I have two questions. Why did you paint over the background with your pallet knife after a layer of burn sienna? Why didn't you just leave the background alone in the beginning and just go for the thick paint in the end without the two intermediate layers? The second question's about the oiling out. I've read that it's mostly used to begin painting a new thin layer over dried paint instead of adding the medium in the paint, to keep it's amount even throughout, which seems to be what you're doing. However I've also read other accounts that it makes color darken more, which makes sense, but it's not always the case. What results have you noticed long term?
Mediums like sunflower seed oil and safflower seed oil you can use in the oiling out process , as well as some others . They won't darken as opposed to linseed oil that can darken. I hope this has been helpful to you.
He mentioned his glazing medium , it flashed on the screen in print. He used 3parts linseed oil to 1 part turpentine or OMS. I use this same medium myself, but I use a bit more OMS .
I was beginning to despair for a while...she looked awfully orange...but WOW, what a beautiful piece. Lovely old world method...you really see the power of the gray...I was mesmerized watching you.
Master. I'm amazed and so happy, watching the 3 part painting was like watching one of the renaissance masters creating a "Masterpiece" Your channel is now my Number One.🎨🖌️🏆🇯🇲
i was so beyond impressed with the realism of the skin tone, but absolutely blown away by the hair and the fabric. they look so real, i don't think i've ever seen hair painted so beautifully and realistically before that i genuinely get the sense that i might actually touch it if i reach out. amazing, brilliant, beautiful work.
Your art is pure gold, classic! The sketch was perfect.. You signified the term, "drawing with the brush"..the grisaille was brilliant.. and the layering of colour was immaculate..hats off, master!
thanks... I am very happy watching how the canvas works with his painting, a long time ago when I was younger I painted, but when I was growing up I left it for lapses, never for bad artist, and in the same way I resumed it for lapses ..... and I think this is another one of those where I return Thanks, teacher!!
I came here with the intent to learn something.
But your skills are so far beyond me that I'm just left marveling at your work.
the most beautiful process i've ever seen
I really love how the colour builds up throughout the process. I really got to get into glazing soon. There definitely seems a certain brilliance about it.
i'm impressed, that's really amazing. it looks so real, damn.. how old were you when you start painting?

Please ,in your ebook "Portrait in Oil " do you talk about the medium used , both in the under-painting and the others layers

Beautiful painting I really like your work
The green underpainting seems like an unnecessary step. Traditionally it was used for frescoes.
Me agrada el método tradicional del trabajo, el promedio de tiempo con cada obra para terminarlo, cual es teniendo en cuenta que es óleo
I love your work ! What brush sizes did you use in this video?
Me encanta!!!
This was wonderful I honestly wish I could watch you paint unedited.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful!
thanks...

She is so beautifull
Can you please change the music next time? Or just have silence, it was so frustrating listening to the same 30 second segment over and over again
Or maybe you could have turned your music down... it's not like there was anything being said.
-Lil Orinoco- listening to brush strokes is also important, hearing the tempo and pressure of the strokes is part of studying as well
