That 6.0 egr "cooler" with straight tubes is almost useless. It doesn't come close to removing the amount of heat for the engines requirement. Go ahead and test in and out temps of both coolers... The original cooler isn't a problem, it's clogged oil coolers starving the egr cooler of coolant flow. Get rid of that Gold coolant and run Red. Coolant filters can be a good idea too, but if the oil cooler isn't clogging, the factory egr cooler should live just fine, and actually cool the egr gasses.
question: I intend this (2019 6.7) to be a million mile truck -- what parts should I have sitting on my shelf that I will need to have ready and waiting to be swapped eventually? So when it goes down I'm ready to quick fix without waiting months. Plus I'd rather budget over time for parts. I have a DCR fuel pump and HSM upper and lower fuel filter upgrades in the truck already. My 6.7 just freakily blew in injector and luckily my local shop had one and swapped it getting me back on the road with a one day turn-around. I've put 1200 miles on it the last few days and all good so far. edit: I also have mishimoto tranny cooler routed to put cooled tran fluid back into the pan and it's a temp saver big time. It takes a very long uphill pull at max load for me to see tran temp over 165.
Very good, no-nonsense episode! As someone who started out driving IDIs, then 7.3s Powerstrokes, love this content. Thanks for the episode!

First time I've heard Opti-lube mentioned, usually its Archoil . Used Opti for every fuel up on 22 powerstroke plus swapped out cp4 for DCR.
Opti-lube is a great fuel Additive, and Sean Conk is a great guy
Great content once again..
Thanks for watching!
Happy Friday 😊
Thanks for chatting with us!
Pittsburgh power knows how to prevent clogged dpf's
