Will there be smoke? One builder's RV-10 comes to life!

KITPLANES longtime contributor Larry Anglisano gets to witness the first power up of Mark Welch's partially completed Van's RV-10. A full Garmin G3X Touch suite with a wiring harness crafted by SteinAir centers the effort but there's still a lot for the builder to do. It's that integration a builder worries about. So, let's see how it goes!

Gorgeous build. I am very impressed with the SteinAir layout and especially the wiring diagram. A lot of thought went into all of this. I am guessing the avionics cost more than the whole aircraft build. But definitely an Oshkosh top build winner.

Heck, if it's worth doing, it's worth over-doing, right? Looks like Mark is having a lot of fun with his project! May not end up being one of the lighter RV-10s, though. LOL

What’s lycoming’s excuse for holding everyone up for over 2 years? It’s pretty much going to drive me to a kit plane that I can run an Edge Rotax in, rather than waiting on that nonsense.
