I have three Echo PAS powerheads. 13 years ago, I purchased the Pro-Torque trimmer attachment. I use it for most of my trimming and it fits all of my powerheads
Where can i purchase the new torque, so that i can install it on my PAS 2620... which i luv alot...i just used today the trimmer attachment for the first time, and i really luv it though it make the entire unit kinda heavy. 😊
I have the PAS-2620 straight shaft edge trimmer and the pro torque string trimmer head definitely worth the upgrade. Zero issues in 3 years non ethanol and Echo Red Armor.
I have the 3020t and its a beast. Recently purchased a 450 speed feed for my 410u model. Have some big string i want to use. It should be a ripper. Be safe out there.
Hello . With modification 2620 to 2620T . Trimmer need adjustment carb??
Thank you. The regular 2620 has no cutting power i prefer my old srm 230 cuts better ive never had a trimmer head stop up cutting normal grass like this non T model. I should have just orderd the T to begin with. What string you using .95 is usually the go to 80 to weak.
Hello. For record , ECHO C051001351 fit SRM2620 with Flex Cable Drive ( square end cable) ? Thanks
I just bought a New SRM 2620 (made NOV 2022) and also just bought New from Echo Dealer 2620T gear head (it came with larger blade fixture) $78. The reason I did this was to the stock gear head for trimmer line and the 2620T for a Blade so it'll be a easy 2 bolt swap to change heads complete with String or Blade depending what I need to do.
Because this is new when I removed the one bolt (that locks the head) and the other bolt that you only (need to loosen) and pulled the gear head down the cable came out with it? I only pulled the head out about 3-4" when I saw it (the cable) was coming out too I stopped and put the gear head back on to research this and found your video here. Was it just suction that pulled the cable out with the gear head, there's plenty of grease on that cable. I'm guessing I just need to grab hold of cable and gently pull from head? Then push cable and make sure it seats in the spline at other end of shaft. Any reply is much appreciated. So I tried again and the shaft stayed in place...BIG problem though the T gear Head I bought ECHO P/N P021051220 will NOT fit my SRM 2620 the cable end on mine like the one in this video is SQUARE and the gear head I bought looks kind of like a Torx except its has 7 slots or notches THEY DON'T MATCH UP!
Yes, the cable just slides out as it's just a press-in fit. I suppose it could come out with the gear if it had a lot of grease on the end.
@@GwinnettLawns Do you know the part number of the 2620T gear head that fits the square shaft end? It appears there are 4 different part numbers and I haven't figured out which part number I need to order.
I know (now) the P/N P021051220 will not fit my new SRM 2620.
@@harryberry474 I show the part number at around 6:05 in the video.
@@GwinnettLawns ...Thanks for that, that P/N C051001351 confirms what I eventually found doing back and forth searches of PFD files the compare which Gear Case I need.
I messed up getting the P/N P021051220...hopefully the place where I bought it will accept exchange and of course the gear case that works is more expensive AND it doesn't come with the blade fixture (but they're not very costly. Curious why they have 2 different styles of connections/parts and which style is newer.
The gearbox with the torx head is actually splined (spline drive) for models with the solid steel driveshaft. I know all high torque (T) models are square drive which use cable inside their shaft
I took the T gearbox off my 2620 that died after 5 years and put it on my 3020, 2 years later, 7 years on the same gear box . . . still good.
Those gearboxes are almost indestructible!
you ever have to replace the starter cord unit? rip cord?
@@skytale35 never had to.
Where can I buy the torque heads?
From Echo.
Help me on this one where can I find a Torque T model I see some but I don’t know to much about them I want power too
Check with your dealer for the 2620T.
I have the PAS and I bought the torque head attachment.. I’m assuming Russ this is the same as all the rest torque heads
Correct.
@@GwinnettLawnsthanks for your channel
Ordered the head they send me a 7 point trqs head shaft insert instead of the square cable shaft. Trying to find a way to extract the inserts to swap to the square shaft.
Is there a part number for that torx end on that T head? Trying to put one on a Shindaiwa, but Shindaiwa comes with solid shaft that has torn ends.
It's cheaper to buy the pas attachment the 2320 already has it on 🙂
What is the difference between the srm225 and the srm2320 because as far as I’m aware it is the exact same engine the only difference I can find is the handle grip is the commercial style on
It’s the same displacement but the bore is crammed and I believe the piston is different as well with different materials. I’ve had both and there’s no comparison the 2320 is 1000 times better..
@@GwinnettLawns oh okay yeah I have a pas 225 and it really has no power in fact it is brand new and I haven’t used in it months because I have a 266 and a pas 2620 and they are beast
THAT'S all it takes?!?!? I try to buy high torgue Echo trimmers everytime I buy a new one. The 410x is so beastly, either she's already torquey, or she doesn't need it.
I’ve converted several srm225 with high torque heads and what a difference does that make it really wakes up those little 225 what I do is I find the high torque heads used in eBay for like $40 to $50
what model of (T) gearbox fits the 225?
@@noan2134 Any model that has the T gear fits the Srm225
@@victorrippe5845 i asked because some guy bougth a 2620T gearbox to put in a 2620 trimmer and it does not fit, the 2620T gearbox seems to be for a solid shaft that have some gear thooth at the end. the 2620 trimmer has flexible shaft, squeare at the end like srm 225. Im confused
@@noan2134 That’s strange the echos with solid shafts are square and the end I know the only one You can’t do that to is the Shindiawa 262T cause it’s shaft is spine not squared the only thing I can think of maybe echo changed there solid shaft from square to spline my T gears I got them off a srm266T and a Srm 280T and put it on my Srm225 and I got a few used T gears from eBay for $50 each and that’s if your lucky cause usally there like $80 To $100. But I’ve searched for new ones forget it there like $120 to $160 your better of buying a unit that comes with a T gear I’ve been buying the Srm 2320 they are great trimmers we have 2 in our company and there like 4 years old and not one issue on none of them there a bit lighter then the regular srm262O
@@noan2134 Hey I just checked in EBay they have a T gear for sale for a echo Srm2620T and yes the gear is not squared it’s the spline which will not work for the Srm225 so you have to look for models like the srm266T or 280T the gears they use are squared and they fit the 225 your practically covert it into a 2320T oh and like I said your better of buying a 2320T that comes already with a high torque gear I converted my Srm225 cause I had already gears from previous models that weight a ton and 2 that I bought used from eBay.
Do you mind typing the part number for the fear case? I can’t make it out in the video. Thanks.
Looks like c051-001351
The T model uses more fuel.
How did you arrive at that conclusion? I have had three of them and one none T model and they were all the same.
@@GwinnettLawns I helped a friend’s company mow a cemetery the first day I used the high tuque gearbox then on day two I switched to the low tuque gearbox same SRM-2620 I found that I was able to cover more ground with less fuel.
And I run 89 octane ethanol free with Amsoil 100/1 mix.
A Hellcat also uses more fuel than Corolla.
@@Pure_KodiakWILD_Power a hellcat uses more fuel than the uss gearld r ford too.
