I love the Beatles. I was born in '65 too and never knew a time without them. If there was a radio on, chances were there was a Beatles tune playing or would be in the next 5 minutes. I Wanna Hold Your Hand is the first song I remember hearing and registering as something I wanted to hear again.
When it comes to songwriting, harmonies, production they elevated rock into an art form. But I think Rolling Stones influenced a lot more kids into putting a band together….however Mick and Keith were forced in a room to start co-writing because their manager worked for Epstein and wanted them to stop being a blues cover band. The unbelievable part is George was only 26 when The Beatles broke up!!
Growing up, my best friend was a huge Beatles fan. I wasn't. However, in 1991, I worked in a lab and on Sundays, they played brunch with the Beatles on the only rock station. I worked every Sunday morning. It wasn't long until I realized that the Beatles influenced EVERYTHING rock.
The Sabbs are a superb reason to talk about the Beatles, don't ever worry about that, and Geezer's rolled up eyes definitely show a psychedelic influence. The Beatles' solo careers were the breathing space they needed to create their own material and perhaps reunite with new ideas, but they were finished with working together again. And so I think Paul tried to fill that void with what he could. Phoenixes from ashes story.
My most knowledgeable jaws brother, I found a cd of merciful fates very first live gig Sept 6 1981 its called walking back to hell, do you own it ?? Lmk. Great sabbath clip today ,and ya gotta love the Liverpool quartet, they started it all. I was a huge fan of pooping my diapers , especially when my hot babysitter was watching me!! Hey chief don't forget your rubbers

Lyrically St. Vitus Dance is inspired by She Loves You

Ozzy loves them too, can’t believe there are musicians who don’t considering all their innovation. you rule Dr. Fukk, hope all is well with you!! 🤘🏼
How about Elvis covering the Beatles!!? I didn't know that he did Beatles songs till recently and he shreds!!!🤘
You can definitely hear Beatles influence on Sabbath's poppier tunes. Hard Road, Am I Going Insane, etc
The Beatles influenced everyone every band that came along after the Beatles wether rock pop and even grunge where influenced by the Beatles
that's no surprise
Obviously. The main riff of “After Forever” is so Beatles.
Beatles albums have aged like those $400 bottles of wine that are over 50 years old. High end, top quality.
The Beatles were okay. But Paul McCartney's solo stuff is much better IMO.
