I felt I had to add that. Big part of how they worked well in a humorous way is because they were just that close.
Black Sabbath, when witnessed live there is zero doubt that Geezer is a phenomenal musician.

It’s so weird that fans had hate toward Ronnie, it was Ozzy who caused the breakup of the original lineup. I hated him for years for ruining the original Black Sabbath. I wouldn’t listen to anything he put out. Ronnie came in and gave the band a new lease on life, not replacing Ozzy but creating something new. The most powerful vocalist I’ve ever heard. Thank you guys for giving us all so much amazing music. ❤
He was there by Ronnie's bedside when he died!

Two of my favorites of all time. Loved the Dio, Iommi, Butler and Appiece line up. Absolutely killer music from these guys! 🤘

I never knew that Ronnie had such a great low register. He could have sung anything with that crooner tone.
Finally someone thinks the same way! High pitched voices were so popular in that period and Dio almost forgot about his gorgeous low notes...

Also in interviews and live shows around that time, he was older , the voice was thicker
I always saw Geezer as someone who was more quiet/reserved, but seeing them on The End tour and how unhappy he looked/act onstage, I just thought he was cranky old man. I regret that thought knowing now that he was probably still in pain from the loss of his friend, you can just tell in this video with them together that Ronnie really helped him come out of his shell more. God I can't believe it's been 14 years, who do all the best people have to be taken too early???

Ronnie's singing well spectacular but his demeanor, the gentleman way he carried himself was as good. He left a mark on millions with his wonderful personality that few know. Sit down watch Ron's interviews, interactions, always the same, he was one to emulate as a human being.

I didn't know until now that Trunk is a giant, he's usually sitting down seen mostly from the chest up I figured him a shorter guy.
He's not a giant ( except in his own mind ),its just their tiny dudes. A surprising amount of rockstars are shrimps.
@careful__Icarus Well, both Tony and Geezer are 6ft tall. Ronnie was 5' 4" tall. Eddie's only 2 inches taller than Tony and Geez, but he's fat.

He is the host, with the highest chair. Johnny Carson. Latterman, Jay Leno....they all had the elevated seat with guests getting a smaller bone.

I used to be real scared of Sabbath as a kid, but they are some of the most genial guys.
Geezer Butler, lyricist and bass playing soul of Black Sabbath, was another in a long list of Ronnies problems with the bands he sang for.

maybe they were closest because they were the two that drank the most alcohol. Kind of like how Ronnie was close with his OTHER bassist in the Dio solo band. ? Just a theory.
Maybe! He sure wasn't doing the coke Tony was doing! With that being said, Dio never drank much as you claim nor did drugs, Thats was ozzys Specialties. Dio did smoked a little pot from time to time and that's was it.

He had a sense of humor but he didn't like people mocking him or making fun of his height at times.
