1:25 The music is hyping up for the climax, but starts to slow down and turn into Arthur Edwards' theme as soon as 47 injects himself. This symbolizes that everything you did since you met Grey was in vain, his death and many others' were in vain, all because you choose to not finish the pact. You've let Edwards win.
Meanwhile here, 2:11 the music reaches its climax when you inject Arthur, telling you that you did the right thing. You finished the pact and avenged Grey, you have completed your *purpose*

It is definitely not canon. It is extremely easy to disprove this since they mention that 47 killed Dr. Ort-Meyer (the last target from the Hitman Codename 47 game)

I think the canon ending is where you inject Arthur Edwards as it seems the most fitting and I’m guessing the part where you inject yourself is just a reference to hitman codename 47

The implication if you take the Serum is that 47 has travelled 'full circle '- ending back up at the Sanitarium, with his memory wiped, to be trained again as a killer, only this time for the Constant who now controls the entirety of Providence. Which means everything you did with Lucas Grey etc, was a complete waste of time aha!!

That is a possibility cus Arthur is smart why would he just lay the serum that ruined and messed up agent 47s life right in front of him knowing he could do anything with it and the way he perfectly forgets everything seems to Perfect

That would be cheap, just some suger water or something, and when you choose yourself, it's completely changes to the actual serum, cuz creative choices. That's why I came here to see what the serum does, but yeah, I was just thinking.. suger water

Making 2 games at once is pretty difficult. See it as the "bad ending" and cannon ending- like how in Half-Life 1 you could either accept the offer of the G-Man (cannon since it leads to HL2) or give up and die (never mentioned again and doesn't lead to anywhere).
