This is an interesting opportunity for web developers, because there are literally millions of sites that are not compliant. However, it is not a good idea to put a widget on your site for many reasons. 1.) It injects a 3rd party script on top of your site, which can open it up to security vulnerabilities. 2.) It makes the UX worse for people with disabilities. Think about it. A sight-impaired person most likely cannot operate the widget independently. 3.) These widgets can override the user's accessibility tools and settings in favor of frankly subpar widget tools. Screen readers can't parse the widgets anyway. 4.) Most, if not all of these widgets perform poorly on mobile. 5.) It's like slapping a target on your site. You've only put a widget on instead of going into the code and fixing the underlying issues. People are starting to look at widgets as prime opportunities for lawsuits, because it screams out that the developer or site owner really just wants a quick fix. I almost got suckered into partnering with one of these widget companies, because at the time I truly thought that it was a good solution. After thinking about it for a minute, it just didn't add up, and I didn't feel right about selling this as a solution to businesses, knowing they were likely in for a nasty shock when they STILL get sued.
Wow, I’m a lawyer (not currently practicing) atm and idk about this. I know we had lawyers in San Diego going around to hotels and suing a bunch who were not ADA compliant whether it was no pool lift, walkways, etc. but seems they shifted to the digital side of things ::sighs::

I have been on this amazing journey called Amazon seller to Ecommerce Independent style. That said, I now wonder about Amazon being ADA compliant. So it kind of makes me wonder why someone hasn't gone after the mega bucks..

I talked to her and she said she’s going to leave it open forever, I guess she didn’t change that on her site yet. No, I would just add the userway plug-in first to help guard off these lawyers while you’re working through it. No need to put your site on maintenance mode, and yes that’s the accessibility statement I was referring to.
@@WhitneyBonds Hello, sorry to bother you again. I have another quick question. I installed the Headers and Footer plug in and copied that script into the headings section and hit save. I then went into my userway account and updated the buttons into the bottom right hand corner and hit apply. The button isn't showing up on my site. I cleared my cache and logged out and back in again and it still isn't there. What did I do wrong? Does it take awhile to show?
Sorry I figured it out, the script in my email didn't work but the one in my userway account at the top tab called "My Embed Script" worked once I deleted the other one and reinstalled this one. It was a longer script too which was interesting. Thank you for your time!

Unfortunately it looks like it was taken down. You can reference my privacy policy and have the free accessibility icon on your site and that should be enough to protect you.
As a person in the Internet Business I was aware and the plugin got doen't appear correct so checking on what you used to test it. How long are you now doing now for others,? I' sure there'a plenty of business especially for attorneys
Are you still using Userway ? I noticed when I went to use the plugin it wasn't compatible with the latest WP version. Did you have to get a subscription?
@@julesm9081Good luck! I set one up last year - its quite straightforward, lots of useful youtubes on it. My problem was I hadn't given any thought about how I was going to monetize it! I intend to try again soon though now I've (hopefully) got a better idea of how affliate marketing works.
