- I recently found some of my old art from when I was younger. Thought it might inspire some of you out there that are worried that they aren't growing as an artist. KEEP DRAWING! Don't take breaks like I have, you'll regret it.
Also, see the very first drawing I ever did of MAGNA GIRL! She's my oldest and first Original Character and she has meant a lot to me over the years. I can't wait to share her with you in a more descriptive matter later this year!

I was odd when I was young. I once wrote a story in my "amajanashin" ( imagination ) book about a cat who was fat and goes out to look for food . He sees a dog , and goes over to it , Here comes the weird part ... then he eats the dog .. And it's not over yet ! He then sees two ducks eating bread and eats them too. Then he " iksplowdid ".
I wrote a sequel ... about a skinny dog . So the skinny dog is so hungry and goes out to look for food . He meets a mouse named Mr Mouse ( I'm so creative ) and Mr Mouse is eating cheese . He asked Mr Mouse can he have the cheese and Mr Mouse says yes . So he goes off , and meets a female dog and asks her on a date ... she says she will take a day to think about it . The next day, she says yes and they got married and had lots of babies .

Honestly I know I'm like 2 1/2 years late but I still feel like I need to tell you this, Waffles.
Every time I draw I feel like I'm not good enough and that I will kinda never learn how to draw more realistic/detailed/with more shading. I think it's great that you show your subscribers all your old drawings because this really boosted my confidence about the art I create. I know that my drawing skills aren't the best yet but I know that in a few years of practicing I will become better. I just wanted to thank you for this video.

I felt the same way, bc my friend(whos really good at art) used to always tells me "thats not right" or "let me fix that" so I felt like i would never be like a decent person at art. but now i have decided to forget about what others say, and it's really boosted my confidence!

And there is this girl who is a pro at tennis and the two girls face off and the pro wins. Then they face off again and the noob wins because her hair was magical and could hold tennis rackets apparently. And then the pro ends up in the hospital. And then the story ends. I remember when I was younger I had a DVD from the "ice age" series and the bonuses were how to draw scrat, the squirrel thing from the movie and drew it along with the guy and was so proud of it I showed it to everyone. I found it like a year ago and cringed. It lowkey looked good tho, its just an instinct to cringe at old art 😅

The thing is times have changed; 12yo's now are eligible to draw better than 12yo's from a decade ago because they take and took inspiration from very different people. It is very annoying when people go around saying that but it's the truth.

I drew just like her when i was 11-12 years old too if not Even worse or exagerated xD 😂 i hate when people start talking like oh i'm better than u and i am 12 like HELLO we CAN'T compare then from now because in now a days Kids are more exposed to Art and tutorials, back then we just Drew like what old artists say "Monkey see Monkey Do" and thats what we basically started as copying other arts trying to make our own out of that Style. And again we can't compare to other people because every one is different in their own way and have our own pace to do so. At least thats what i am learning now and i'm about to graduate from college and at this point i'm still not good or perfect because i'm still learning as i go. C'est la Vie lol
Also i never took Art class in school and i did beg to get it but i never did until i was in 12 grade but i mainly did paint and not draw. I started drawing in college about like three years ago since i took other classes first on another campus and i was there for a year and a half lol
When i was younger I got a weird kick out of drawing people who were basically near death or straight outta hospital, wires and all. How did I even know about that kinda stuff at 4, anyways lmao
i like how you look at your old art in such a positive light. normally i would never show my old art (or even my current art) and would feel completely embarrassed about it but watching your old sketchbook tours has influenced me to embrace my art more, both the good and the bad ones. thank you !!
Honestly, no one should compare themselves to an artist. People have different perceptions and opinions of what's good and what's bad art. Art is very abstract; there's no way to determine who is good and who's bad. It's also quite rude to compare yourself to artists as well. People put most of their lives into art and you comparing yourself to them doesn't make them feel positive about themselves. Art is for fun, not a competition.

This is how I started drawing..
So when I was around 4, I was doodling circles on my notebook with a green marker. One of my sister’s friend asked me what was I drawing and I told her I don’t know. Then, my sister came up to me and said, “Wow, that looks like a frog!” My sister’s friend agreed too. She even said it was a good frog and she was like 18 at that time.

Practice really matters, because look at the huge improvement of Wiff Waffles. Maybe you guys are confident that you would draw better in the future, but it depends if you practice. But seriously, please stop it. You guys are just WASTING your time, and by the way, I'm not reffering to all 11 year olds, only those who are bragging.😊
Ok I'm okay with all these kids that say they have improved, but straight up bragging is not okay, it hurts others that may have just started drawing at their age. I'm not saying you guys can't say you haven't improved, but PLEASE don't brag about it.

Fishy Squishy being confident about their art shouldn't hurt you. The fact that someone younger than you shouldn't matter to you. Understand that people work harder than others and all the practice has made them the good artist they are today. I rather hear kids say "I draw good and I'm (insert age)" because confidence is really important. it's better than to hear those people who won't shut up about how bad their art is just because they're scared to say something good about themselves because others will get hurt. that makes no sense to why it would hurt you that someone can draw better

I am currently 13 and I've just started to get back into art after taking a break for a year (after thinking I wasn't good enough) and this really inspired me to keep going!

Ella Kreidler me too im 13 and i stated drawing at age 12 until I was showing my friends my drawings and they show theirs to me I got really jealous and sad at the same time so I stopped drawing i said to myself that I'm bad at drawing and it's not my thing but this year I started drawing again my friends stopped drawing I really love drawing but each time I draw I hate it and re draw it I'm trying to be more confident and never compare my self to others
I used to draw eyes really similar to your old "tombstone" method. I'd draw an oval, shade everything in but the corner, then BAM! An eye.

In fact, I did a lot of things that were shown in this video. I would make mountains of comics and skip around in random notebooks I found.
There's a boy in my school who does that and he's like "Your art is shitty." When he literally takes fucking five minutes on a drawing and then says he sold it for fifty dollars. He owes a friend like two hundred dollars.

I like looking at my old art. Even if I made it just a few years ago it is fun to see the progress, cause I don't think I have gotten any better, but looking at the artwork I was proud of two years ago proves me wrong. It is really motivating. 😅

KEEP DRAWINNG EVERYONE!! I've been drawing seriously for three years now (1st year fairly seriously) and I've already developed a TON. I try my best to draw everyday, and set limits for myself like "okay, finish this 72 pg sketchbook within the rest of this month." Also; REFERENCING AND COPYING!! That's how I started with everything. And also BUILDING YOUR 'VIRTUAL LIBRARY". Just look at photos, backgrounds and copy them. Tracing doesn't help at all, really. You'll get there! I know you all can.
