I'm still upset at myself for not saving all of my other old sketchbooks and diaries....In fact, I didn't even have this particular one in my possession until recently! I sent it to a friend of mine several years ago and asked her to mail it back to me so I could make this video!
I guess you could say the only reason why this sketchbook survived the purge was because it wasn't with me when I moved haha!
I'm planning on participating in Inktober, so my next sketchbook tour will probably be focused on that!

Ugly drawing phase
Being the "artist" of the group, I was often told that my art looks pretty good, and was later asked to draw things for other people. I'll have you know, I am NOT a good artist, everyone else was just worse than me. (I know that sounds conceited, but stick with me here) Now, when people asked me to draw their OCs, I tried. I would later tell them that I didn't have the time to do it and end up scrapping the drawing I spent hours on. Now, you were in SEVENTH GRADE and your art would be the Picasso of the group.

As a seventh grader this motivates me SO MUCH to draw or improve my art, I hope that I get to where you are in the future! This was really relatable and I'm glad that my seventh grade was at home because I'm veery shy at drawing and all I'm interested in is miraculous, danganronpa, and webcomics which zero people around me have a clue about so I keep it to myself 😭

The thing that improved my hands a lot was with starting with a 3D box not a circle. And draw many many hands from references. Hands are tricky but not impossible!
I started drawing anime when I was in 3rd grade (years in Britain cause I live in Britain xD) I sucked at drawing hands and they we're literally sausages LOL and now I'm in 6th grade and I can draw hands decently now :D (I started dojng gacha tracing in 4th grade but I stopped tracing because I heard about trzcing dramas and I didn't want people judging me so now I can draw anime and gacha without tracing OwO?!)

I watched it!!! I remember ALL those sketches! They were good then and now you're even better now! Her "not too impressive" draws are way more better than mines. And BTW, the story of the fallen angel was pretty great, kinda remind me like AHS Asylum death angel with a mix of Death Note and maybe a sad emo song(hey, emo phase isn't totally gone)

I am in 7th grade and randomly clicked on this video to test my English listening skills and am interested in drawing. Even as a 7th grader she draws yhe hair quite good, unlike me who doesn't bother with shading much because I DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH PATIENCE. NO OFFENSE but to shade, I'll have yo conpletely devote myself for an entire day which I possibly can't considering how much free time there is left at the end of the day and that I spent om youtube, music, anime etc. These thing don't take more than 1 hour so I can do it but ART TAKES TIME.

I'm struggling with the same thing, I can draw faces and stuff but I have the hardest time with anatomy.
If you're doing a realistic-ish style, the proportions are seven heads for girls, and I think seven and a half for boys. Manga is most commonly six and a half for girls and seven for boys. And the crease is downwards from the fore arm towards the shoulder

@@sleepyheadlps8880 A lot of artists are self conscious about their artwork! Some artist say that to lower expectations of their art before they show it so they get more compliments. Saying you can't even draw stick figures is sometimes offensive to artists so watch out when talking to someone saying things like that about their art because they could be hurt by your words!

As someone who draws for fun I can confirm body parts are harders to draw I alway messed up the most there even more than with hair lmao

Same, I'm really bad at drawing outfits. Here's a tip though! Look at different body parts if you can't afford art models. I used to be so friggin BAD at drawing hands, but just look at your hands and practice and then POOM POOM POOM POOM POOM POOM POOM POOM YOU GOT NO BIG SHAQ so now drawing hands is like really easy, also if your drawing feminine hands and you don't have long nails (Like Meh) I always remember Yuri from Doki doki's hands. If you don't who that is look it up!
It's OK, as someone who draws full body pannels I can say that the key word there is practice, you'll get there before you know it.
