He is a pro repair shop owner and took good care. Ran synthetic oil etc. Paint very good over all . usual little dings. Plan on same lights you did , but I am doing a black grill with vertical bars and no emblems. May do black wheels , and black lower front bumper as well. Daily driver is a BMW 5 series. Very little more gratifying than cleaning the engine of a new (used) buy. I installed a hot water spigot on the outside of my home and it is GREAT! Love the Tahoe, my wife has a 04 and it has been virtually trouble free so far at about 120K.

    It’s a good idea to pack connectors with silicone grease and coat rubber boots as well when access allows. Silicone spray lubricant is a good protector for aluminum, plastic, and rubber parts. Dirt won’t stick. Just rinse them clean them in the future.

    An amazing dressing is Chemical Guys VRP. Stands for Vinyl, Rubber, Plastic. I'm pretty sure it's water based, no silicone or anything. It's body shop safe for those in the know. It's actually more than just a dressing. It completely rehydrates any plastic or rubber surface without leaving the greasy residue for dirt to cling to. I detail under the hood of my Cadillac CTS every other month with VRP and it stays looking amazing. Lasts weeks on tires, even makes water bead off the sidewalls . Steady application for a month or so will almost completely restore any plastic surface. Rubber is easy, soaks it right up. I swear by the stuff! Perfect for this job. You can mix it with a little water and spray it to hit hard spots and just leave it sit. Make sure you keep it shaken up for spraying.

    Be careful spraying towards the valley. There's a pair of knock sensors that have a bad habit of trapping water and causing problems. They even had a TSB about building a RTV dam to keep water out of them.

    Thanks for the video! I own a 2006 Tahoe PPV with 190k. The engine is really dirty and looking at new radiator as my oil lines into radiator are leaking giving me low oil pressure and leaking like a siv. The challenge is it’s a PPV model and has 3 radiators I think. Am I getting this confused with trans cool lines? I have to keep it looking clean as it still looks like a federal agents Tahoe and it has the 4 speed tranny that makes the engine scream, no redline, no governor, topping out at 148 mph. Lately though it tops around 125 as it needs a tune up. The truck is the only thing I own and I’m planning to repair and rebuild as I grew up on a racetrack. Any radiator or PPV blogs recommended? Love you page as my first car was a 1984 Camaro Z28 followed by a supped up 91 Camaro RS 5 speed and my father used to run a 69 Camaro SS with dual racing stripes. Keep up the good work! Hey Matt I saw that K&N sticker on your air filter cover in newer videos and was going to ask you about it. I was thinking about getting a 4" cold air K&N. I thought maybe that's what you had modified under the plastic. But I see you have their regular square filter. Do you think the square filter works as well? I'm more interested in better gas mileage than power personally. I thought more air might me more efficient ignition therefore less gas needed. Anyway thoughts?
    Also I did see you do this but do you have to put K&N oil on the square filters you put in the factory housing just like their cone ones? And use their cleaning guild every oil change before oiling it?
    Maybe that would be interesting video.

    Questions bro, I got an 05 Suburban and it's gold and the on the rear door molding action crashes the top of the strips are rusting. I live in Texas and rust isn't an issue here and there's no other rust on the truck. And tips on how to get rid of the rust? Or should I get new ones all together?

      Yea if you can replace them thats the best way to go with rust👍

    So you can clean any motor has long as you cover up the alternator? And what's a good brand of spray to clean your motor with?

    • @lsxmatt
      @lsxmatt  4 роки тому +1

      I like super clean, you can dilute it however you want. Yea just cover the alternator, or dont! Just avoid spraying it directing with the hose. I’d recommend a pressure washer being it doesnt soak the engine in water like a garden hose.

    Hey Matt, Love the channel and the LTZ is awesome. I noticed you recommend this Power Washer, but you use a different one for your foam cannon. Which would you use if you wanted to use a foam cannon? I want to wash the cars with Foam cannon, but also want one for general purpose like cleaning the deck etc.'

    • @lsxmatt
      @lsxmatt  4 роки тому

      If your just using the foam cannon I would look for one with 2800 psi or higher. A lower psi works, but the foam is much more fluffy with more power. The gas one I have is 2800. It also works better for cleaning oil stains and decks.

      when cleaning the engine make sure its cool to touch, as if it was hot the product/water will dried on it making it harder to clean. Hopefully this answered your question.
