That was my second gaming laptop and I purchased it without looking at the reviews, after it stopped working I looked the reviews from bestbuy and it’s a common issue where the screen blackout or the keyboard stop working when you first unbox it. In my case my screen stopped working after a week or 2 of using it.

BogartTheDestroyer X I’m not sure but I had shipped it up to acer repair center about a week ago and it should be back here I think Wednesday or so. If you go check the reviews on the laptop at the bestbuy site. It claims the laptop has issues after unboxing, which all the issues they put are common to what I have experienced.

Just bought a 15" with the 11th gen i5 for $749 from Best Buy. Going to immediately upgrade RAM and SSD. Took a week to pull the trigger because all the benchmarks and reviews just seem too good to be true for the price point. Great video.

if you primairly game, the nitro 5. the cooling on the lenovo isnt as good. its underneath the laptop and slightly in the back. but not great.
l340 cant run on dual chanal ram so if u insert 1 more ram to nitro it warranty that nitro 5 is at least 10 percent faster

The ventilation of Lenovo is very poorly designed. Tge temperature got over 85°C (over average) in the first week, while I was playing Rome 2 Total War.

You can boost performance by undervolting the processor. There are instances where it might consume too much power, which might cause thermal throttling. Also, I recommend upgrading to 16GB 2666mhz since the laptop only came with a 2400mhz 8gb. If you have the money, upgrade the half size M.2 SSD to a full size Samsung EVO SSD.

The laptop didn’t actually have any backlight bleed. That was just ips glow and it can be expected with any ips display. I believe there is a techquickie video that explains this

I’m planing to get this because of 4 games i have on my old laptop. Total war: empire (2009), total war: rome 2 (2014), total war: Attila (2015) and CS. I want to play on high settings. Will this overheat or handle it perfectly considering the games are 5-10 years old? Sorry for the stupid question, im not good with computers :/ great channel btw.

I have the same model but I noticed how the laptops hinge isn’t the strongest, Did you experience this while using yours? Also, did you sometimes hear small creaks when picking it up? Finally, I game on this laptop almost everyday so when could I expect to see some battery deterioration?
Battery deteriorating takes some time probably at least a year or two depending on usage and no I didn't observe any creaking.

hey do you recommend this or lenovo L340? they are in the same price range but lenovo has better specs i7-9750h and 1tb ssd and 16 gb of ddr4 rams. but i dont know which one will last longer and preforms better.
I would choose the Intel option for now in this current generation.
Sir, which one is better, having an L340 with an i7 9750H or the one that you are talking about, Acer Nitro 5 with an i5 9300 as Acer Nitro 5 has dual channel RAM while Lenovo L340 has single channel RAM but has a higher processing power? Will the i7 9750 of Lenovo compensate its single channel RAM feature compared to Acer Nitro 5 with an i5 9300H but has dual channel RAM? I am planning to upgrade my L340's RAM to 16GB to maximize its performance.
L340 with higher ram + undervolt will beat the nitro 5 i5 variant.

nie man thats where i got my acer nitro 5. paid like 9 something with 2 years buyer protection. been using it daily for over a year now. happyy with it all in all. mines still looks good sine i use wired keyboard n mouse. connected to a LG 30 inch gaming monitor. and 2tb external. play lots of steam games on it and all that fun stuff. i can steam link games from my steam deck,

The nitro 5 is famed for having a very good overclockable screen, which goes to 75hz almost every time and even 90hz many times
Ordered this today. Will be here day after tomorrow. 17.3@144hz, Intel i5-10300H, GTX 1650i, same 512 ssd. They separated the fans to each rear corner with CPU and GPU between them.

Dante Madrilejos it came without an hdd, you can install it though, in the box there’s the cable. You can add either an 2,5 hdd or an 2,5 ssd (and there’s a second slot for an m2 nvme if you want even more storage)

No reason to switch down refresh rate. In game settings will need to be tweaked to reach those framerates though.

Hard to say, depends on which one is the better price. If you're okay with no webcam, maybe the Asus.

The heat sink grease is a problem with these laptops. Many people have has success replacing the original thermal grease.

I brought it for around 1.05k dollars in India, but I have the 15inch, i7 9th gen 9750h, gtx 1650, 1tb 7200rpm, 256gb ssd model. Is it a good buy? And how much will i7 effect the battery life compared to i5?
Hard to say for the battery life. Intel i7 uses hyper-threading so it shouldn't be that huge of a difference at least under light workloads. As for the value, my understanding is that most laptops are a little bit more expensive in your region...so sounds like an alright price to me. Maybe someone else can give their thought.

I am still happy the i5 has good performance compared with i7. But yes, temperatures are not that great and this laptop thermal throttled.

Same issue. The Asus Strix G looks a bit weak to me and also doesn't have a webcam but the RGB lighting looks great. Totally confused

are you sure, battlefield V at medium settings and you could go for only 57fps? Because mine can go up to 62fps at Ultra settings though. No tweaks no overclocking done, just fresh out of the box. Weird.

@@MFarid92 i do take averages when posting my numbers. So this includes frame drops in those calculations.
I have same laptop. It's ok but nothing special. In Warzone on the lowest settings it's dropping fps to 45 in some moments. Fallout 4 also droping fps in Boston centre. Quite good for casual gaming. If you want to play online on some lvl it's not a good choice.

Why did this laptop using 100% disk usage in task manager?
Sometimes disk usage can be high from Windows set up or performing updates in background. It should settle down eventually though.
